pixar's coco is breaking box office records in mexico

+ Pixar's new animated film "Coco" has been released only in Mexico so far. It debuted on October 27th just in time for Dia de Muertos and has taken in 824 million pesos so far — or $43.1 million dollars.




+ In just 19 days it's expected to pass the mark of 827 million pesos grossed by “The Avengers” during its entire run in 2012. It also destroyed "Thor Ragnarok" in the box office battle and has held the #1 spot for three consecutive weeks.
+ "Coco" also broke two other records and it's now the #1 animated film in Mexican history ("Toy Story 3" held the record) and the movie with the most tickets sold overall with more than 17 million people in attendance ("Minions" was the former #1).


+ Additionally, director Lee Unkrich has stated that the film will be available with the original Mexican dub + English subtitles and English dub with Spanish subtitles in selected venues in the US.


+ The film is also retaining the Latin American dub for the release in Spain.




+ “Coco” opens Nov. 22 in the U.S., followed by China on Nov. 23, and Russia on Nov. 24. The film is currently rated at 96% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Taylor Swift is doing the absolute most in order to get record breaking first week sales for her new album republican reputation. First, she has discounted her Target exclusive magazine bundle to $13, cheaper than the already advertised Black Friday special price (screw the fans who bought it full price less than a week ago).

This is in addition to telling her fans to buy multiple copies in order to collect some cheap ass folded posters with a photo copied signature on it.

She also seems to be using the death of Jimmy Fallon's Mom to move more copies of her album! As posted earlier this week she performed the final track of her new album, 'New Years Day', on the first episode of the Tonight Show since the passing of Fallon's mother. Now, because of coincidental lyrics about hand squeezing, the performance has been branded by Swift as a "tribute" on her official FB page (even though the rendition isn't any different than the one she premiered on TGIT last week).

Well, it seems she is trying to take advantage of the buzz, as an iHeartRadio DJ from Oklahoma has tweeted that the song has been serviced to country radio.

James Franco to star in "Multiple Man" film based on X-Men character

Fox is developing a starring vehicle for James Franco in X-Men property "Multiple Man".
In the comics, Multiple Man is Jamie Madrox, who, in the comics, conveyed his cloning powers at birth, when a second, identical version of him appeared after the doctor slapped the infant to get him to breathe. His father, a worker at the Los Alamos Nuclear Research Center, moved his family to a remote farm where his son — fitted with a special suit to control his powers designed by X-Men patriarch Professor Xavier — lived quietly until the suit malfunctioned and he began to go crazy. His cloning abilities drove Madrox to have various collisions and collaborations with both the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman) will write the script.

Upon reading a statement from the ladies of One Tree Hill, a statement from their Royal sisters could not possibly go unwritten.

Despite hearing rumours about his behaviour on One Tree Hill, those of us involved from the early stages went into the filming of the pilot hoping they were just that – rumours.

By the time we wrapped this had irrevocably proven not to be the case. It became all too apparent reading their statement earlier this week that the betrayal and anger so many of us had experienced during our time on The Royals is not exclusively ours.

And we were angry then, and we are angry now. This statement is a collection of voices from those women involved in The Royals who would like to finally respond to the behaviour of our showrunner. Who felt the inclination to abuse his power and influence in an environment where he had it over women who felt they did not.

This manifested itself in the repeated unwanted sexual harassment of multiple female members of cast and crew. Where we should have been excited to meet new female cast and crew members, we felt nauseating concern in case they too should have him track down their mobile number.

Where we should have offered our friends who auditioned for The Royals scene help and advice, we offered warnings about the man they would meet in the room.

More than all of this, where we should all collectively have felt pride over jobs hard won and roles much loved, we felt undermined as artists and creatives. And in many cases, no more than a sum of body attributes. Whilst voraciously condemning the actions of one man, we would like to make note of our gratitude to others.

Thank you to so many of the Royal men who ensured we were never alone in social situations with him and took two steps towards us for his every one. Thank you to the friends, loved ones and partners who supported us at the time and ever more so now in coming forwards. But thank you most of all to the women of One Tree Hill, whose solid gold backbones have moved us enormously. To you we doff our crowns.

Tensions mount between the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok; with King Aethelwulf and his family still in hiding, Heahmund, the warrior bishop, rallies the Saxons to defend the Realm, as the Great Army moves to take York.


Celebrations are cut short in the aftermath of the battle at York; Ragnar Lothbrok's sons are pitted against each other as tensions reach an all-time high, and each one is forced to choose a side.


Guided by Bishop Heahmund's visions, the Saxons devise a battle plan; Ivar the Boneless strategizes as the Vikings undergo increasing pressure; Bjorn Ironside finds himself in a new territory and must convince the local commander he is a trader.


Ivar meets his match in Bishop Heahmund; Floki returns to Kattegat; Bjorn receives a lavish welcome in North Africa.


Lagertha is betrayed, and Bjorn must find a way to support the distraught queen; Floki and his settlers arrive in a new land, but it is far from what they expected.

LA repertory theater/hipster celeb hang-out Cinefamily closes doors for good

In summary:
-In August, LA repertory theater and celeb-frequented spot Cinefamily (whose board includes Elijah Wood, Brie Larson, and Richard Linklater, amongst others) was temporarily shut down amid sexual assault allegations against Hadrian Belove and other board members.
-Rather than fully shutting down, Cinefamily discreetly ran secret screenings employing some of the same volunteers.
-Cinefamily hired an investigator to look into the sexual assault claims as well as set up a "confidential" hotline for employees to call into - former employees allege that this investigator trained at the same agency as the one Weinstein hired to silence his own accusers.
-"Black Card" members (aka the theater's shareholders who received special screenings, privileges, etc, in exchange for a monthly "donation") were still being charged for membership as late as November despite the theater being "closed" in August. In response to mounting frustrations as well as threats of possibly pursuing legal action, Cinefamily deleted the Facebook group for Black Card members - after they had promised to reimburse them.
-Cinefamily now claims it cannot pay the members owed. However, the co-owners (as well as members of the previous board) are pursuing future renovations at the theater.
-Filmmaker Anna Biller (The Love Witch) alleges that Cinefamily still has not paid her for screenings. ('The Love Witch' screened at Cinefamily back in January 2017.)

  • Mogul Queen Latifah (born name: Dana Owens) released her third album Black Reign on legendary Motown Records November 16, 1993 at the age of twenty three so basically before 85% of ONTD was born

  • Black Reign was a departure from her regal African-themed imagery to more (then) current 'hood inspired fashions and imagery

  • The album deftly explored the issues of domestic violence, sexual harassment/assault, chauvinism, black female sexuality, police brutality, gangs/neighborhood violence and misogyny in Rap/Hip Hop

  • It was a bold statement of black feminism, pro-blackness and the struggles of black people in underprivileged neighborhoods & communities

  • Lead single "U.N.I.T.Y" was written by an angered Latifah during a fraternity picnic in Philadelphia after witnessing rampant misogny. The song won a Grammy award for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1995, the first time a woman took that honor

  • It featured a stellar sample of "A Message from the Inner City" by great jazz/funk band, The Crusaders; it also made an appearance on a special episode of Latifah's successful sitcom Living Single

  • Says other highly influential female rapper MC Lyte: “[It] was extremely impactful for the genre of hip-hop to finally hear a strong voice of a positive Black woman speaking about uplifting young woman. To date it's still one of my favorite songs.”

-greg berlanti & sarah schechter have been meeting with cast & crew in burbank & vancouver all week
-employees encouraged to contact warner bros. HR if they had info relevant to the investigation against kreisberg
-berlanti was "apologetic" that employees didn't feel like they could come forward
-meetings reassured everyone of job security
-mark pedowitz's annual visit to the sets in vancouver was supposed to start on monday but he post-poned
-sources say there's been talks of "mass walkout" if kreisberg returns
