In light of the recent Hollywood  exposing of men who have sexually assaulted women, another one has come to light and is shaking up the indie/emo music community.

Jesse Lacey from popular alternative rock band Brand New is at the center of it, when a recent public Facebook thread resulted in numerous accusations of him soliciting nude pics from minors and being an overall inappropriate creep.

One woman publicly shared her story of him soliciting nude photos of her when she was 15, and even engaging in an inappropriate act in front of her on Skype. She said she took screenshots but isn't ready to share them. She went into more detail at the source, but please know it may be disturbing to some.

Jesse's team has not responded to these allegations.

Don't blame her, her love makes you crazy, if it doesn't you ain't doing it right. Taylor Swift went on iHeart Radio today to discuss the meaning behind the songs on reputation and the Secret Sessions. Here's what she said about some of the songs:

On the Secret Sessions:
"The reason we decided to do Secret Sessions again is because the Secret Session people from 1989 were so wonderful, and they became friends and they went to shows together. And they really made it possible to trust massive groups of people because the trust is a two-way street"
On the Producers:
"I should start by saying this group of producers is a lot smaller than 1989. I felt like they would be versatile enough to kill 1989 and make something new. 1989 was it's own thing. It was me and Jack Antonoff, and me and Max Martin and Shellback."
On I Did Something Bad:
"I woke up with a sound in my head and it wouldn't stop going around in my head, and it was so annoying. It was like, 'rah rah da ta ta.'"
On King of My Heart:
"I think it's really interesting when people talk about their love stories. There seem to be these definitive phases. And it doesn't matter how long that phase lasts. There seems to be a moment when you knew it transitioned to the next phase. Everybody has a different story with how they connect with someone else, and what I find interesting are the moments where it switches because you always hope that that switch is going to move you forward and not backward."
On Dress:
"Almost every line is something I came up with a year before and then when I was writing the song I just cherry picked. I was really proud of the hook because it sounds like a pick-up line, and yet it is a love song about deep and tender feelings."
On This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things:
"This is about when people take nice things for granted like friendship or trusting people or being open. Letting people in on your life, trusting people, and respect are all really nice things."
On Call It What You Want:
"I feel like the album starts with getting out any rebellion or anger or angst and then falling in love and realizing that you settle in to what your priorities are and your life changes, but you welcome it because it's something that matters to you. This last part of the album feels like settling in to where I am now. So it kind of started with where I was when I started making the album and ends with my emotional state now. And this song reflects that probably the best on the album."
On New Year's Day:
"There's something even more romantic about who is going to deal with you on New Year's Day who is willing to give you Advil and help you clean up the house. I think that states more of a permanence. And so I was thinking about that and wrote this song. There are two lines in this song that I'd been saving for a really long time for the right moment. The 1st is 'please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere' and the other is 'hold on to the memories they will hold on to you."

-wb has launched an investigation into reports of inappropriate behavior by andrew kreisberg
-15 women and 4 men talk about a pattern of sexual harassment and inappropriate physical contact

-none of 19 sources wanted to be named for fear of retaliation
-both current and former employees in a range of positions on the shows
-kreisberg denies allegations
-touching people without permission, asking for messages from female staff, kissing women, sexualizing comments about women
-women said the work environment was so hostile they had to leave the room when he entered it
-last year a high level female producer brought her concerns to a senior executive at berlanti productions and there was no response
-sources say greg berlanti himself wasn't made aware of any allegations
-male colleague tried to talk to kreisberg about his behavior but nothing changed

Eminem joins Rick Rubin to discuss his latest song Walk on Water:

Eminem discusses the meaning behind his new single off Revival. He explains that at the beginning of his career everything was a blank slate and now he feels like there are high expectations that he can't meet.

Rubin and Em also discuss the recent changes in hip-hop and how, for Em, it was a cultural shock (ie mumble rap). Rubin describes how it is working with Eminem and Em discusses how certain artists influenced him. Also 9:10 on makes me want to hug Em lol

Just listen to the interview if you are bored or care at all. Its ten mins lol.





He sounds a bit anxious/hyper in the interview but still good! Also now I am pretty sure the album wont drop till 11/17!

Gary Goddard Responds to Anthony Edwards' Sexual Abuse Allegation

Sam Singer, the publicist for writer/producer Garry Goddard, issued the following statement in response to the essay that Anthony Edwards wrote accusing Goddard of sexually assaulting him and one of his friends for years, beginning when they were twelve years old:

I am responding on behalf of producer and writer Gary Goddard to allegations posted and made today by actor Anthony Edwards on the website Medium.

Gary first met Anthony more than 40 years ago. Gary was a mentor, teacher and a friend to Anthony, which makes this story all the more disturbing to him. As to the allegations that Mr. Edwards made in his post today, I can unequivocally deny them on Gary’s behalf.

Gary played an important role in helping start Anthony’s acting career and acted as his personal manager. He has nothing but the greatest respect for Anthony as a person. Gary is saddened by the false allegations.

The post by Anthony, as well as many of the news stories today reference a legal claim made against Gary approximately four years ago regarding sexual harassment. The complaint was demonstrated to be fraudulent as it was completely fabricated, and ultimately withdrawn by the complainant and his attorneys.

  • Celebrity chef and inspiration for the hit ABC comedy 'Fresh Off The Boat" Eddie Huang recently penned an essay in which he opened up about being sexually abused by an older member of a Baptist church when he was young.

  • He revealed that a chaperone on a Baptist church ski trip he took as a teenager ended up flashing him and his friend in a lodge. The man stood naked and hard in their room for a long time.

  • Huang said he didn’t tell anyone what happened because was scared that people would not believe him. He was inspired by Anthony Rapp to tell this story.

    Padmavati + Other Bollywood Movie Updates

    The second song from the controversial Bollywood film, Padmavati, was unveiled today. It is called "Ek Dil Ek Jaan" and it is a love ballad between the characters Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) and Rani Padmini (Deepika Padukone).










    Aishwarya Rai's upcoming film, Fanney Khan, has received a release date of June 15, 2018.

    Mad Men's Matthew Weiner cancels interview to avoid questions about sexual harassment allegations

    On the heels of sexual harassment allegations from Emmy-winning writer Kater Gordon, Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner has oscillated between cancelling interviews to avoid questioning and losing events meant to promo his new book:





    Town Hall Seattle's statement on cancelling Weiner's promo:
    “The event was cancelled by Town Hall Seattle when it became clear the program as conceived–a conversation between two respected artists and entertainment industry veterans about television, novels, creativity, and commerce–would not be possible, or responsible, in light of recent reporting.”

    A Silent Wave of Deletions: Why Allegations Against Singer Have Been Disappearing

    Follow-up to this post. Abuse allegations have followed Singer to such an extent and for such a long time that his name started trending when Kevin Spacey's name did.

    Well, isn't that slightly awkward.

    Recently, Asia Argento and Jessica Chastain called out Singer on Twitter.








    Despite these call-outs and despite Singer being referenced in "An Open Secret", he currently appears to be untouchable. Fresh allegations against him haven't surfaced. There might be multiple reasons for that if you follow news about him closely.


    • 1) First off, Singer's team allegedly slaps anyone with a Cease & Desist who even thinks about printing something about the allegations against him. (Don't you dare come for me though, the ACLU has ONTD's back).

    • 2) Second, a whole lot of allegations have recently been scrubbed from the internet, like this Yahoo article:




      • Unfortunately, even one article being pulled down has a trickle-down effect on other reports.

    Julia Breakey wrote an excellent article about disappearing Singer allegations on memeburn. She notes how tweets detailing an alleged sexual assault were removed:

    I noticed that Singer's Wikipedia page was also altered. Previously, there had been a section titled "Sexual Abuse Allegations". This section was shortened and rewritten recently and is now titled the much more ambiguous "Controversies":

    You might ask yourself why Singer's team appears to shield him successfully from allegations when so many other well-known Hollywood insiders have been openly accused.

    One theory - and to be clear, we ARE dealing in theories and rumors here - is that Singer is too big to fail. He's both a commercially successful and critically acclaimed director as well as producer, and Hollywood hates to see white male talent go to waste. He's working with 20th Century Fox on Bohemian Rhapsody and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, to name just two of his projects.

    Another theory is my personal pet theory and a little more insidious. Maybe Singer isn't protected of what he does, but rather because of who he knows, and what he knows about them. The list of his known associates is an illustrious one.

    To recap, people who have been rumored to associate with Singer:

    • Dustin Lance-Black: see previous post

    • David Geffen: Geffen, who is worth about US$6.5 billion, founded Asylum Records as well as Geffen Records, and co-founded DreamWorks SKG. Geffen was also an investor in DEN. Recently, McGowan released a cryptic tweet directed at Kevin Spacey, Bryan Singer, Garth Ancier and David Geffen.

    • Simon Halls: Simon Halls is a founder and a partner at SLATE PR. He is Bryan Singer's publicist. An anonymous source hinted that it was Simon Halls who advised Singer to have a baby with a woman (which he did) and come out as bisexual ["I'm quite bisexual. In the last five years, I've had two girlfriends—one for two years, one for eight months... In the end, it's probably going to be a guy. I emotionally lean towards male relationships, so I'm happy to say I'm gay, too, if it's a one-syllable, easy answer."]. We're entirely in the realm of rumors with this one though, so take it with a grain of salt.

    Anna Paquin corroborates Ellen Page's harassment by Brett Ratner on the set of (the now even more hated) X-Men: The Last Stand. Her Tweet from yesterday backing up Ellen Page's story invited threads of Twitter losers users criticizing her for staying silent on what she witnessed over 10 years ago.

    "GSD" Trailer: Billionaire tycoon and Alibaba's founder, Jack Ma stars in Jet Li's new short film

    - "GSD" (which stands for "Gong Shou Dao", The Art of Attack and Defence) is an upcoming 20-minute film produced by Jet Li and directed by Wen Zhang. The movie is the Chinese e-commerce Alibaba's founder, Jack Ma's debut.

    - The film also stars famous martial artists Donnie Yen, Wu Jing, Sammo Kam-Bo Hung, Yuen Woo-Ping, Jacky Heung, Siu-Tung Ching, Zou Shiming (boxing), Tony Jaa (muay thai),Asashōryū Akinori (sumo wrestling), and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (taekwondo).

    - Jason Statham, Manny Pacquiao and Gennady Golovkin also makes an appearance in the 7-minute trailer.

    - According to website Alizila (owned by Alibaba Group), the primary goal of the movie is to promote Tai Chi at a global level because of its benefits to health and happiness and as well as a window to Chinese culture. The goal is a view shared by Jack Ma's fellow cast members, and"none of whom took a paycheck for their services".

    - Jet Li said that the movie will take the opportunity to be promoted during Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival.

    - Alibaba had reportedly earned US$12 Billion of GMV (gross merchandise volume) in the first 2 hours of the Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival.

    -The GSD trailer was shared on Jet Li's facebook today with the following caption:

    George Takei denies sexual assault claims, but a recent Howard Stern interview proves he's guilty

    In an interview he did with Howard Stern a few weeks ago, George Takei admits to having grabbed men's penises against their will. He said that "some people are skittish" and need some convincing to have sex. He claims that he never held a job over anyone's head like Kevin Spacey (like this excuses it lol) and that these incidents never happened at work, always at his home.

    Nevertheless, George denied the allegations on Twitter.
