- Disney reversed its decision to ban the LA Times from advance press screenings after several outlets, including the AV Club, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, said they would boycott Disney films until the LA Times was reinstated

- the AV Club and the Times followed the lead of WaPo critic Alyssa Rosenberg:



- The ban was believed to have been a response to a critical story which ran in the LA Times about the corporation's relationship with the city of Anaheim, where Disney theme parks are located.

"My character is named after her biological father, who in the story was killed when she was very young. That is simply but profoundly a political statement of the gender fluidity of the future, where a daughter can be named after her father."

▪if she would be happy if her son were gender fluid:
"I think that is something we have to deal with now. I think that... well, I couldn't say that I didn't like it, because if that's what he truly believed. Do you know what I'm saying? I have to support that, because I love him unconditionally. So I have to receive that, and I have to accept that, and then I have to decide how we move forward together."

▪if gender fluidity should be an option :
"I don't think anyone can speak on it in... those sort of personal terms because it is such an individual, sensitive, highly personal thing. And everyone has a right to their individual, highly personal things. That's part of being a human being. At least that's the way it should be. In this case [with Michael], when I'm speaking of gender fluidity, I'm talking about the gender roles being in a more equal place, being on a more even sort of playing field, if you will, and so we're not paying so much attention to the sort of barriers that separate those two genders."

BREAKING: Former MLB pitcher Roy Halladay dead in plane crash

40 year old retired MLB pitcher Roy Halladay has died in a plane crash. The crash occured over the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of St. Petersberg, Florida.

Halladay was the pilot of a Icon A5 sport plane. Just under a month ago, he made a post on Twitter about how he dreamed of owning one since he retired from baseball.

Halladay retired in 2013. He played in the majors for 16 years for the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays.

Taylor's representatives have told streaming companies that Reputation will not be available for its first week, according to Bloomberg. Negotiations remain ongoing as to when the album will be available. The album will be on sale at iTunes and wherever CDs are sold, including Target, which is selling two exclusive magazines that include the album.

Danielle Harris 'bummed out' about upcoming Halloween film

Danielle Harris, who played Laurie Strode's daughter Jamie in two of the Halloween films (as well as Annie in the Rob Zombie versions), told fans on a livestream that she's 'bummed out' about the upcoming sequel.

“I’m bummed out. And here’s why I’m bummed out,” said Harris. “I’ve done four Halloween movies, and I’m grateful for those movies. I wouldn’t have all of you guys here… if it wasn’t for Halloween. I’m forever grateful and indebted to the Halloween franchise. It’s been good to me.”

Harris continued, “What I am bummed about is… [Laurie Strode] has a daughter. I was okay with it when she had a son… but they’re saying it’s the last one and… she has a daughter. And it’s not Jamie. It’s just kind of a bummer, I guess. I think somebody had said, it wouldn’t have hurt the movie to have Jamie reunited with [Laurie]. But that didn’t happen. We did put in a call, thought it’d be kinda cool even just to have a little flashback… they were not interested. So. I tried.”

    Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis signs with DC

    Prolific Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis and DC Comics have shocked the industry today by announcing the two have come to an exclusive, multi-year deal.

    Bendis has worked for Marvel for 18 years and is currently one of the companies only major writers still left. Bendis helped create characters like Miles Morales, Jessica Jones, Riri Williams and Maria Hill.

    It is unknown when Bendis will start work for DC, but says change is good and healthy and that he is bursting with inspiration. Which is a good thing as his work for Marvel has progressively gotten worse the past several years.
