Alec Baldwin says he's a sexist who's bullied women

  • Alec Baldwin was honoured by The Paley Center for Media where he and Steve Higgins talked

  • I certainly have treated women in a very sexist way. I’ve bullied women. I’ve overlooked women. I’ve underestimated women. Not as a rule. From time to time I’ve done what a lot of men do, which is… when you don’t treat women the same way you treat men. You don’t. I’m from a generation where you really don’t and I’d like that to change. I really would like that to change."

  • Baldwin is a longtime friend of serial sexual predator James Toback and recently defended him in a series of now deleted tweets

Another Kevin Spacey update: 8 HOC employees allege harassment/assault

0
0
8 people who are currently or have formerly worked on House of Cards are accusing Kevin Spacey of making the set a toxic environment through sexual harassment and assault.

All 8 are speaking under anonymity, for fears of professional repercussions. They all describe Spacey as having predatory behavior towards young male assistants, which included crude comments and nonconsensual touching.

One of these employees, a production assistant, states that he needed to pick Spacey up and drive him to set. Minutes before they arrived, Spacey put his hand down the assistant's pants. Spacey began touching him again as they arrived in Spacey's trailer. When the assistant told him how uncomfortable he was, Spacey left the set and did not return.

Another crew member stated Spacey's behavior was out in the open for everyone to see, but no one said anything for fear of losing their job, as "who's going to believe crew members?"

Production for House of Cards' final season shut down earlier this week. It is unknown when (or even if) it will continue.

In other Spacey news, an awards season push for his supporting role in Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World has been canned.

Wonder Woman officially top grossing Superhero Origin Film World Wide

-Wonder Woman has officially passed Spiderman to become the #1 grossing superhero origin film world wide!

-This is Wonder Womans first solo foray onto the big screen and is currently the #1 DCEU film domestically along with being the #5 highest grossing superhero films stateside.

-Spiderman earned $821.7 back in the day by the time it ended it's theatrical run.

-Wonder Woman has earned $821.74

Cavill had this say about the state of the DCEU:
"Even if Marvel didn’t exist, we’d struggle. There was a style they [DC] were going for, an attempt to be different and look at things from a slightly different perspective, which hasn’t necessarily worked. Yes, it has made money but it has not been a critical success; it hasn’t given everyone that sensation which superheroes should give the viewer.

I think it is a wonderful time for the female hero. It is the perfect setting in social politics right now, we need it, we want that perspective, and Wonder Woman has struck at the ideal time and has become a phenomenal success, which is fantastic. Any success within the superhero universe, especially within the DC Universe, is wonderful, because I want to keep telling the Superman story; selfishly, that works for me.

I feel like now the right mistakes have been made and they haven’t been pandered [to], and we can start telling the stories in the way they need to be told. It is even better to come back from a mistake or stylistic error into the correct vein because it will make it seem that much stronger. Wonder Woman was the first step in the right direction."

Steph Curry jokes about being included in the GOP tax bill

-House GOP leaders unveiled their new tax bill earlier today
-While the document is 429 pages, only one person is mentioned by name: Steph Curry
-The document explains how the proposal would differentiate "between the individual wage income of NBA All-Star Stephen Curry and the pass-through business income of Steve’s Bike Shop" regarding loopholes for small businesses

"The 'Tax Cuts and Jobs Act' includes specific safeguards to prevent tax avoidance and help ensure taxpayers of all income levels play by the rules under this new fairer, simpler tax system. Our legislation will ensure this much-needed tax relief goes to the local job creators it's designed to help by distinguishing between the individual wage income of NBA All-Star Stephen Curry and the pass-through business income of Steve's Bike Shop."

Why do you think Steph was singled out, ONTD?

  • Bette Midler recently sounded-off about the alleged remake of the 1993 Touchstone film Hocus Pocus. The remake is supposedly going to air on Disney Channel, which ironically used to show the original film a lot, back when the network was actually decent.

  • Midler has stated before that the role of Winifred Sanderson is her personal favorite role out of all the things she has done throughout her decades long career.

  • "I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!” Midler told People at the New York Restoration Project’s Hulaween party on Monday.“I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character. My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.”

HTGAWM Star Jimmy Smits on being part of Shondaland and a sneak peak for tonght's episode

0
0

One of the new stars of How to Get Away With Murder this season is veteran actor Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue, Sons of Anarchy) who plays Dr. Isaac Roa, Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) therapist and fellow recovering addict. Jimmy talks with TV Insider about his role and being part of Shondaland.

What drew you to the role of Isaac Roa?
"...Simply, I like the show. I like the strides that show has made on so many different levels, but the bottom line for me was a chance to be able to work with Viola. When I sat down with her with Peter Nowalk, who’s the creator [and] the head writer on that particular show, it was just about having scenes with her and having to mix it up with her and create some kind of fireworks for the time that I’m going to be there."

What's it like being part of Shondaland?
"There are always major, major twists. The cast doesn’t know a lot in terms of what’s coming up. You gotta prepare yourself for whatever they come up with. That’s been eye-opening for me. ...I haven’t been there since the beginning, so I don’t really know, but the vibe that I get is a lot of [the cast] don’t really know until we’re reading it at the read-through."
