Paul McCartney Is A Death Hag

Paul McCartney made his first visit to Elvis Presley's grave and left one of his guitar picks behind.

According to the official Twitter account of the former Beatle, McCartney said the pick was 'so Elvis can play in heaven'.

The lifelong Elvis fan toured Graceland mansion Sunday.

McCartney was in Memphis to play a show on the North American leg of his 'Out There' tour, which has seen him perform in Brazil, Poland, Italy and Austria before drawing to a close in Seattle in July.

His set lists have included rarely performed songs such as Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite, All Together Now and Eight Days A Week, which he played live only once before the tour began, with The Beatles in 1965.

The two music monoliths actually met in 1965 in LA at a top secret location after a music journalist with links to both the Beatles and Elvis organised it.

It was Elvis who broke the ice. ‘Well, if you guys are just gonna sit there and stare at me all night, I’m going to bed,’ he said, before calling for guitars to be passed around for a jam session.

Elvis was a huge influence on both McCartney and John Lennon. The emergence of Elvis’s first British single Heartbreak Hotel in 1956 had led the schoolboy Lennon to form his own group, the Quarrymen.

McCartney had been similarly obsessed, and all through their years playing in Liverpool’s Cavern Club and in Hamburg, The Beatles had included more than a dozen Elvis songs in their repertoire.

People Tweeted “I Hope You Get Breast Cancer” To Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham is one of those figures (and no pun intended, I’m not talking about her body though lord knows that gets talked about more than her body of work) that really divides people into hate and love. Some start hating and then start loving. Some loved from the beginning. And some just really hate. Some hate so much that they hope she gets cancer. From her twitter:

(It reads “Just an FYI to conservative dudes tweeting hate at me: ‘I hope you get breast cancer’ is way more offensive than anything I’ve ever written.”)

Hey, you know who else wished breast cancer on someone? Charlie Sheen to ex wife Denise Richards. His exact statement was (from Gawker),

I hope you and your worthless retarded father get cancer and join your stupid [dead] mom. Rot in hell, you whore.

Yeah, breast cancer is just hilarious.

Bates Motel: Season 2

A&E's Bates Motel upped its ick factor in the season finale when Norma (Vera Farmiga) admitted
to her son Norman (Freddie Highmore) that as a girl she was forced to have sex with her brother.
This revelation paves the way for the introduction of Norma's sibling next season, which starts shooting in late July for an early 2014 return.

"We would be remiss if we didn't meet some other members of the Bates family," says executive producer Carlton Cuse. "I don't want to say who, but we are definitely going to learn about their family tree, which has more twisty branches."

"With a lot of sticky sap," adds Farmiga, who has already been clued in to Norma's parentage. "There is one family member I desperately want to meet."

Nestor Carbonell has also been told that next season will reveal the home life of his corrupt character, Sheriff Alex Romero. But "the big question mark is Dylan's dad," Highmore says of Norman's half-brother. "There's certainly a story to be told there."

While the arrival of Norma's kin will cause her even more angst, Cuse does offer one tidbit of good news for Mama Bates: "Norma will find romance next year with someone we haven't yet met." And that couldn't come at a better time, says Farmiga. "She sure needs it. Her neediness gives her an urgent desire to touch and kiss Norman, and that need should probably be filled by someone other than her son." Ya think?

Aaron Paul and Lauren Parsekian were not the only couple who got married over the weekend as Gabe Saporta and his fiancee Erin Fetherston exchanged wedding vows as well. The lovebirds returned to Barbados, where they got engaged less than six months ago, to tie the knot.

"The couple chose to tie the knot in the gardens of the historical St. Nicholas Abbey plantation," a rep tells Us Weekly of the nuptials. "Fetherston wore a gown of her own design, and Saporta wore a custom Gieves & Hawkes suit. Images of the wedding will be featured in Martha Stewart Weddings' September issue."

Like Paul, the Cobra Starship frontman also proposed to his girlfriend on New Year's Eve. "I woke up at dawn to go collect coral and flowers from the beach next to our cottage," he told PEOPLE. "I used them to write out my proposal on our patio and then I woke Erin up in a frenzy to come see a 'monkey' that had appeared in our backyard. My sleepy-eyed bride quickly realized the only monkey that morning was me ... and of course, she said, 'Yes!'"

New interview with George R.R. Martin

(NOTE: The following article was originally in Spanish and was then translated via Google so there's a bit of awkward phrasing here and there.)

The success of "Game of Thrones" , two episodes just finished his third season, he owes everything to one man: George RR Martin , creator of "Song of Ice and Fire", the book series on which is based the series. An epic fantasy full of violence and power struggles between the houses vying for the Iron Throne. "HBO renewed [the show] for a fourth season and immediately got to work on it. David Benioff and Daniel B. Weiss [writers and producers of the series] are already seeing the new episodes, like me.The filming will begin in June or July, "confirms Martin by phone from Santa Fe (New Mexico).

After three years working with HBO, what have been the main challenges of adapting books to television?
Novels are very difficult to shoot. They are extensive, with many characters, castles, dragons, wolves and Wargs parallel plots that intertwine. We had to remove some characters, which I hate to do, but I understand that it was necessary. Considering the resources, we have done very well.

I understand that, other than you, HBO alone knows the true end of "Song of Ice and Fire."
I have told Dave and Dan where I'm going. They have the outlines, but it's all in my head.

How many seasons will be needed for his next novel, "A Feast for Crows" and "A Dance with Dragons"?
That decision has yet been taken. I hope they are two seasons in which we can combine "A Feast for Crows" and "A Dance with Dragons", considering that they are books whose plots occur in parallel, but first we have to finish the quarter and expect to renew the series.

How long until the sixth book, "The Winds of Winter"?
I'm not going to make any predictions. I'm working on it, I'm making progress, but it is a big book. It definitely will not be ready for this year.  Maybe next year.

Why Tyrion Lannister, played by Peter Dinklage, is your favorite?
He's fun to write about him, because he is very deep and full of contradictions, but also has his own demons to contend with. It is easier to work with a character that is not always good or always evil.

And how has your life changed with the success of the novels and the series?
My life has changed for the better, but also for the worse. This level of fame is something I never expected or anticipated. I can not go to the movies because people ask me to take pictures with me. This affects you. There are very nice people among fans, but there are so many that it becomes difficult pose for one more picture when all you want to do is eat your dinner.

You started writing "Song of Ice and Fire" in 1991. How do you imagine your life after completing this series?
When the series ends, I'll probably be 70. Sometimes, I think about retiring, but in reality, I cannot imagine myself retired as long as my mind continues to function, and I can sit in front of a keyboard because I love to tell stories. My head is full of characters and stories. I have ideas for 50 more novels - sci-fi, fantasy, mysteries. Also, I want to write various stories, and I would like to create new tv series. There are millions of things to do, but first I should finish ASOIAF. And when I am done, I will see where to begin.

Kelly Rowland Breaks Down Singing About Beyonce

Kelly Rowland grew emotional last night while airing her "Dirty Laundry" on stage in Washington D.C.

The singer and new X Factor judge was about four minutes into her new track when she came upon the verse that references Beyonce, who she dubs a "sister."

Just as Rowland started to sing about the jealous rage she felt at one point after Beyonce hit it big, she broke down and put her head in her hands.

Watch the crowd encourage her to continue in this video:

Just prior to belting out the single, Rowland told attendees that the single is "therapeutic," dealing with many important topics from her past.

Reads one verse, clearly referring to Beyonce:

"When my sister was on stage/ Killing it like a motherf--ker/ I was in rage/ Feeling it like a motherf--ker. Bird in a cafe/ You'd never know what I was dealing with/ Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin' it/ Bittersweet, she was up, I was down/ No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?"

Smh it's really disgusting what Beyonce & her greedy father did to Kelly & Michelle. I really felt her pain in this performance.

Suits Season 3 Castin Scoop: Max Beesley as...?
MaxBeesley460

British actor Max Beesley has nabbed his first major role on American television.
The star will recur onSuitsSeason 3as Stephen Huntley, the right-hand man of Edward Darby, who made his presence very much felt on theSuits Season 2finale in February.

Look for Beesley's character to arrive in New York following the law firm's merger and to create some problems at Pearson/Darby.
'Suits' Stars Preview Powerful New Season

705_suits_640

With a title like War, you knew the Suits season two finale was going to mean season three would be largely dedicated to picking up the pieces -- and while that is true across the board, according to all of the actors, nowhere is the decimation more evident than in Harvey's relationship with Mike.

"Their loyalty has been completely destroyed," Gabriel Macht told me at USA's Upfront event in NYC. "And in the first episode, Harvey lets Mike go. He's done with him. Yes, Mike asks for forgiveness but Harvey doesn't want any of it. He doesn't want the drama, he doesn't want to trust in him anymore."

And if you think that will be resolved in a single episode, then you don't know Suits! "There's actually an episode where Louis asks for Mike and Harvey lets that courtship begin," Gabriel reveals! "Harvey gives him away. It's big. It's huge." Patrick J. Adams concurs: "It's a big deal that this trust has been broken, so Mike spends a lot of time in the first few episodes trying to figure out how to say he's sorry -- but, at the same time, he no longer wants to be the puppy dog he was for the first two years. He's trying to embrace the man he's become, so he needs to figure out how to say sorry and become a team again while still being a man."

While Harvey's trust in Mike is shattered, by revealing his legal lie to her, Rachel's trust in Mike has never been stronger -- or more intimate, as you'll recall from that steamy season ending hookup! But where does their relationship stand when season three picks up? "When the season starts, they're still figuring it out," Meghan Markle tells me. "I think fans will enjoy seeing, over the course of the season, if Mike and Rachel can really make a relationship work. I mean, Rachel knows his secret now, all the cards are on the table, so it's about deciding if they want to do this -- and if so, how."

tumblr_m7oy9dcFj31r45er3o1_500

Mike's courting of Rachel will also hit a speedbump in an upcoming episode that riffs off the classic film,Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. "It's gonna be so good," Markle exclaims. "I'm so excited for that episode," Adams adds. "We're not afraid of racial joking, so we're going to mine that and show how uncomfortable it makes Mike. We don't often get to show Mike being this uncomfortable so it's like a throwback to the earlier episodes where he was always bumbling over himself to make a good impression, which is easy for me to play because it's my everyday life."

Let us not also forget that the firm underwent as much upheaval in the finale as the interpersonal relationships did, with Jessica joining forces with a British conglomerate. A decision that won't always sit well with the big boss. "Jessica made a very conscious decision to save the company because she believed it was the best thing for them -- so she's just hoping that continues to be a good decision," Gina Torres says. "But, the first three episodes have already established some seriously game-changing moments, so, we'll see."

Chief among those shakeups is a potential defection by Harvey, who is still trying to get his name on the door. Or, as Macht teases, any door. "There are some backroom deals going on and I think he's absolutely willing to leave Jessica to get his name on any door in town. But, Harvey still wants his name on that door, and he definitely wants to get rid of Darby." Although when I relayed Gabriel's quote to Gina, she laughed and said,"Don't be nervous. He'll never leave me. He talks a big game but he's never leaving me."

Overall, the cast could not be more excited for fans to see what they're cooking up in season three. A year that Rick Hoffman says is "really about trust, distrust, deception and deciding what's more important: loyalty or personal gain?"

Suits premieres July 16 at 10 p.m. on USA.

Sleepy, Shia? LaBeouf and girlfriend Mia Goth step out for a groggy early morning coffee run

$

Sometimes morning just doesn't become day until that caffeine kicker. This seemed to be the case for Shia LaBeouf and his girlfriend Mia Goth as the pair groggily grabbed coffee from a Sherman Oaks gas station in the early hours of Friday.
Nobody tends to look their best first thing in the morning: both Shia, 26 and Mia, 19, dressed down for the sleepy coffee run but for once, the Transformers star was slightly more dressed up than his British girlfriend.

Shia, who is not known for his fashion excellence, looked rather civilised in a red and grey flannel shirt. It happened to be the very same shirt the actor wore on the first day he and Mia were photographed together as a couple in public, back in December of 2012.

The Lawless star wore his favorite black sunglasses and a decent pair of grey shorts, and sported a neatly unshaven look.

But once again, Shia could not help but throw those old hiking boots into the mix, an apparent favorite of his.
Mia, who Shia met on the set of Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac, was far more casually clad for the coffee dash.
The British actress wore tight black training pants and a comfortable looking blue hooded sweater, emblazoned with the Dodgers' logo.

Committing somewhat of a fashion faux-pas, Mia added to the ensemble giant pair of slip-on Crocs - so giant, in fact, that they may well have been her boyfriend's.

As Mia led her boyfriend out of the gas station, looking rather eager to get home and perhaps even back to bed, Shia trailed behind.

The Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps actor walked right by a 'Caution: wet floors' sign and for a moment it appeared as though he may do just that - slip.

Luckily the star was simply reaching for the trash can, where he disposed of what looked like their receipt.
As Mia made a beeline for the car, Shia looked to be searching his pockets for the keys... or just doing some morning stretches, perhaps.

The young couple will be eagerly awaiting the release of their upcoming film, Nymphomaniac, which follows a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac recounting her erotic experiences to the man who saved her after a violent assault. However, those hoping that Shia will be going full nude in his sex scenes will be disappointed as producer Louise Vesth, told The Hollywood Reporter that body doubles were used for the really graphic moments.

Iron Man 3 Crosses $1.142 Billion

If there was any doubt about it before, there certainly is none now: Tony Stark is a money-making machine.

Walt Disney Pictures has revealed that Iron Man 3 has earned $1.142 billion globally after five weeks of release. That puts Ol’ Shellhead in rare company, as the fifth-highest grossing film of all time. The only movies ahead of Iron Man 3 on that list are James Cameron’s Avatar and Titanic, Marvel’s own The Avengers, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.

Additionally, Iron Man 3 holds the record as the second-highest domestic opening of all time at $174.1 million, just behind Marvel’s The Avengers‘ $207.4 million. Stark’s latest has outperformed Avengers in key foreign territories including China, Hong Kong and Russia. It’s the biggest film of all time in Malaysia and Vietnam.

Not bad for a genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist.

We've finally gotten a look at James Marsden's baby boy, William!

Over the long holiday weekend, the 39-year-old actor enjoyed a stroll out in L.A. with his adorable 5-month-old son. Marsden, wearing a black shirt, baseball hat and camouflage shorts, carried William

in one arm while pushing a stroller. Meanwhile, his bundle of joy sported a light-colored outfit with a matching beanie.

This is the first time we've seen little William out in public since Marsden and (his one night stand) Brazilian model Rose Costa welcomed their new baby boy back in December.

The X-Men star also has two children from his previous marriage, which ended in 2011.

Nikolaj Coster Waldau talks Jaime, GOT

$
0
0

Valar Morghulis. It means “All men must die,” in HBO’s “Game of Thrones”’ fictional language of High Valyrian.

Jaime Lannister, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, is hoping that reality comes sooner than later for him right about now.

When we first met the eldest Lannister son, also known as “the Kingslayer,” he seemed tailor-made to earn the audience’s hatred. In the April 2011 series premiere, Jaime Lannister was gorgeous, arrogant and wealthy. He’d accompanied his twin sister and lover, Queen Cersei Lannister Baratheon (Lena Headey) and her husband, King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy), to pay a visit to Ned Stark (Sean Bean) in his Northern fortress of Winterfell.

While at Winterfell, Jaime and Cersei stole away to a deserted part of the upper castle for some alone time, but were spied by one of the younger Starks, Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), who had climbed up the castle wall to see what he could see. To keep their secret, Jaime pushed Bran off the wall. In that episode’s shocking end, which set the audience up for many other shocks as the series has gone on, Bran plunged to the earth. Jaime intended for him to die — thus assuring that the twins’ secret was safe — but Bran managed to live, though paralyzed.

Little did we know then that Jaime also was headed for quite a fall.

“I did know from the beginning where the show was headed, and I think that was important, at least for me, so I could find the balance in playing him,” says Coster-Waldau. “I thought it was wonderful to start at that extreme place. Since then, I’ve had a lot of ground to cover.”

You may not have heard of him, but Coster-Waldau, who is Danish, is an acting vet. At 42, he’s married with two children and has been working around the world since his early 20s. This year alone, he’s starred in Guilllermo del Toro’s “Mama” with Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain and co-starred with Tom Cruise in “Oblivion,” which has racked up nearly a quarter of a billion dollars at the global box office. He’s currently shooting, “The Other Woman,” with Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Kinney and Kate Upton.

While Coster-Waldau, like Headey, exactly embodies the golden Lannister visage described by George R.R. Martin in the novels on which the TV show is based, his physical beauty has quickly become irrelevant. He spent most of Season 2 chained in a cage — even on the actor’s actual birthday, July 27 — or being dragged on the ground being kicked and shoved by extras. Things haven’t improved much in Season 3.

Although Jaime managed to escape his Stark captors, who are at war with the Lannisters, and begin the journey back to his family in King’s Landing, accompanied by the she-warrior Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), his hope of freedom came to a screeching halt when he was recaptured by one of Robb Stark’s bannermen, Locke. After he talked Locke’s men out of raping Brienne, they repaid Jaime’s sense of justice by chopping off his sword hand. As the most famous knight in the realm, that’s a cut Jaime’s having a hard time coping with.

“I actually see him as quite an honorable man,” says Coster-Waldau, although that’s hard to see from the point of view of the series’ first episode. “Although, I think if he was told that he could have either saved Brienne or saved his sword hand, I think he would have just told those men, ‘Be gentle with her,’ and shut up.”

Jaime’s relationship with Brienne, who is a tall and imposing fighter herself, has turned into an unlikely alliance but a pivotal moment awaits both characters. While Jaime’s incestuous relationship with Cersei is considered as morally taboo in the made-up land of Westeros as it is in modern society, Cersei is the only woman Jaime has ever loved or been with. The same certainly cannot be said for Cersei.

Jaime isn’t in love with Brienne — who herself loved the now dead (and gay) Renly Baratheon, brother of King Robert — but he’s found a kindred spirit in her.

“It’s been the first time he’s been forced to spend time with someone outside of his family,” says Coster-Waldau. “After he meets someone who’s so honorable, just and trustworthy, it does remind him of himself.”

Besides the horrific scene of Jaime losing his hand, Coster-Waldau also got to play a crowning moment in Jaime’s story this season, in which he confesses to Brienne the true story of how he earned his “Kingslayer” title.

The story is complicated, but suffice to say that Jaime killed the king he had sworn to serve because that king had gone insane and was about to commit mass genocide. While that may have been a noble act, from that day on everyone thought Jaime did it solely to claim power for his own power-hungry family. “It was the right thing to do, but he’s been vilified for it,” says Coster-Waldau.

While it’s been a tough season for Jaime Lannister, it’s been a great one for Coster-Waldau as far as drama is concerned: “I was always hoping the show would make it that far,” he says. “I knew that confession scene would come up and that it would be a high point of the season.”

The lesson of Jaime Lannister is “don’t judge a book by its cover,” he says.“That’s what’s so interesting about any of the characters in this show really. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens further down the road with some of the characters who you currently think are the good guys. People in this show change.”

For example, a reunion with Cersei is in his immediate future, and “Jaime’s a different man now,” says Coster-Waldau.

And as we’ve seen — with the beheading of Ned Stark in Season 1, the death of Renly Baratheon in Season 2, and the loss of Jaime’s hand this season — no character, no matter how major, is safe on “Game of Thrones.”

Oscar Pistorius investigation to be finished by August

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — The police investigation into Oscar Pistorius' killing of his girlfriend on Valentine's Day won't be completed until August, prosecutors said Saturday, ahead of the double-amputee Olympian's first court appearance in nearly four months.

The National Prosecuting Authority said in a statement that it was "content with the progress thus far" of the investigation, which will have taken nearly six months by the time the state is ready to proceed with Pistorius' murder trial.

Pistorius will return to Courtroom C at Pretoria Magistrate's Court on June 4. He is expected to appear for only 10 minutes, but will give the world its first view of him since bail was granted on Feb. 22 in a hearing that lasted nearly a week and during which he cut a broken, sobbing figure as details of the shooting were aired.

The NPA expects the June 4 proceedings to be "a mere postponement" ahead of another date in August. Meanwhile, police investigators continue to collect and scrutinize evidence and identify and interview possible witnesses to Pistorius' shooting of Reeva Steenkamp at his upscale home in the pre-dawn hours of Feb. 14.

Since Pistorius left public view, whisked away from the court building in the back seat of an SUV with darkened windows, his defense team has successfully appealed some of his bail restrictions. He has been living at the house of his uncle, Arnold Pistorius, in an upmarket Pretoria suburb that is not far from the gated community in which he fired the shots through a toilet door that killed Steenkamp.

Pistorius denies murdering Steenkamp, claiming he mistook her for a nighttime intruder. The state says he killed the 29-year-old model and law graduate intentionally following a fight and charged the multiple Paralympic champion with premeditated murder.

But while Pistorius has been finding ways to cope "with his sense of isolation," according to a statement by his family, he faces a life sentence in prison if found guilty.

"We as the National Prosecuting Authority are content with the progress thus far on the currently continuing investigations,"the NPA said, "and we anticipate … the investigations shall be wrapped up by or before August 2013."

The NPA said the hearing would be presided over by Acting Chief Magistrate Daniel Thulare, who is not the same magistrate from the bail application.

There have been only two reported sightings of Pistorius in public since he was freed: an image of him on his carbon fiber blades walking on his practice running track, and a visit to a Johannesburg restaurant.

Oscar Pistorius fined for unpaid taxes
Paralympic star's tax affairs investigated after he declared his assets during bail hearing over girlfriend's alleged murder

The Paralympic star facing a murder charge, was fined for unpaid taxes after being forced to declare his assets during his bail hearing, it was reported on Sunday.

South Africa's City Press newspaper said the tax authorities audited and fined the double-amputee runner "less than one million rand" (£69,169), which he duly paid.

Pistorius's uncle, Arnold Pistorius, gave only a four-word statement in response: "Oscar is tax compliant."

His agent Peet van Zyl, speaking from New York, added: "I am not aware of any of that. As far as I know his taxes were up to date. I didn't see anything from the South African Revenue Service to suggest otherwise."

Pistorius, 26, has admitted shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his luxury home in Pretoria in February, but claims he mistook her for a burglar. He is due back in court next month.

The Paralympian declared in a court affidavit during his application to be freed on bail that he earned around $630,000 (£415,265) a year and owned three houses and a vacant plot in South Africa with a combined value of nearly $1m.

City Press reported that he owns another house in Johannesburg, which he bought for 9.8m rand (£677,856) this year but this was not declared as part of his assets in the affidavit. City Press did not say if that house was bought before or after the killing of Steenkamp at his $500,000-home in a gated community in Pretoria.

Much of Pistorius's income is believed to have come from sponsors Nike and eyewear company Oakley, which suspended their deals after he was charged with murder.

His family has denied previous media reports that he is facing financial ruin because of legal costs, saying in a statement in March that those bills are "under control".

"While the family doesn't deny that Oscar's legal expenses are massive and that he has sold off some of his investments, including his racehorses," the family said. "Oscar will evaluate the cost situation on a day-to-day basis and make decisions as required."

Prosecutors say Pistorius's court hearing on 4 June, the first since his bail proceedings, will probably take less than 10 minutes and the case will be postponed until a date in August when it is hoped police will have finished their investigation.

Last week Van Zyl confirmed that the runner, known as the Blade Runner, will not return to the track this year. "It was always going to be a case of whether Oscar feels mentally ready to return to training, which he doesn't," he said. "He would need at least 12 weeks to get ready for the top level and six weeks of competition.

"He's not mentally and physically ready at this time. It's better that he focuses on the court case. He didn't talk to us about competing at any time."

Vogue's Best Dressed: Cannes Film Festival 2013

Perhaps not since Uma Thurman’s lilac Prada dress grazed the red carpet almost 20 years ago has Minimalism looked as chic as it did on Carey Mulligan at the The Great Gatsby premiere in Christian Dior Couture. Or take Naomie Harris’s silver beaded Calvin Klein Collection column and Sofia Coppola’s Louis Vuitton LBD, here to prove it may finally be the moment for clean elegance again on the red carpet, and what better place to inaugurate that than La Croisette at Cannes?

For the second half of the Cannes film festival, leading ladies threw caution—and etiquette—to the wind, opting for varying versions of the white dress: from Jennifer Lawrence’s silk faille Dior bustier to Solange Knowles’ Stéphane Rolland jumpsuit. We’re willing to bet that whoever said never to wear white before Memorial Day hadn’t met these women. We also couldn’t resist throwing in classically chic Audrey Tautou with her pixie cut and color-blocked Prada; she was the epitome of high-festival style.

Rihanna vs Miley Cyrus: Who Wore Chanel Suspenders Best?

Given their super-nerdy connotation, suspenders aren't exactly the most obvious luxe designer piece to obsess over. But if there's anyone can make the Steve Urkel staple officially cool, it's Miley Cyrus and Rihanna. Together. We first spotted Ri working Chanel'swhite logo suspenders back in January on one of her seven (!!) Complex covers, giving the accessory her signature edgy twist with a camo print bra, oversized bottoms, and a hair bandanna. Now it's Miley's turn, and she's following suit with similar take on the black version. Paired with a white belly-baring top and black trousers (not to mention, an insane gold manicure), Miley's total proof that suspenders really do work IRL...it's all just a matter of how you style 'em.

She tweeted the selfie over the weekend with the simple caption "I <3 #chanel." Now, if youknow Miley like WE do, you'll understand this is non-news. Her "most prized possession" is a Chanel onesie, after all, and now she's making us seriously jealous of her ever-expanding stash. The singer's been majorly about showing off her designer gear these days (see: exhibit A, B, and C), and there's absolutely no doubt there's a whole lot more where that came from when her single "We Can't Stop" and subsequent press whirlwind/performances/MUSIC VIDEO happen really soon. T-minus five days!

Until all THAT goes down, let's duke it out! It's a tough one, but Miley Cyrus or Rihanna: who pulled off the Chanel suspenders the best?!
