Is Tom Cruise wearing a fake butt? Twitter debates Tom's booty

$

Is Tom Cruise's butt Xenu-given or is he wearing butt-augmenting underwear? This is the important debate you may have witnessed on Twitter over the past 48 hours. It all started with a tweet posted by the appropriately named "iluvbutts247" featuring a screenshot from the movie Valkyrie:

This sparked a lively debate and a number of theories about Tom's badonk.

The leading (and least fun) theory is that the butt belongs to a stuntman wearing butt padding for protection. But why does the stuntman have a butt that would put a Kardashian to shame? Is it necessary?

Others argue it was just a weird angle and could very well have been Tommy Boy's ass all along.

Others think this butt-augmenting conspiracy runs deep and proof was found in Toby Macguire's Spiderman. Are Hollywood men just concerned about having flat butts?

Nah, probably just butt-padding to protect the stuntman's hinder. Nearly all of Twitter agreed that the butt was too juicy though.

What do you think ONTD? Is it a stunt-butt, CGI, or does reaching clear give you dat ass?

Lakeith Stanfield (L) explains why Netflix’s new Death Note film isn’t whitewashing

$

"As far as the issue of whitewashing, I think it's a fundamental misunderstanding. Especially when applied to this film in particular, because this film takes place in Seattle, in America. So it would make sense that the cast reflects American demographics.

There is an Asian-American [character] in the film. If people would go out and see it, they would realize that. But the idea that we should turn the whole cast into a Japanese cast just doesn't fit the demographics of America. And that's the reason it didn't happen. It's not because we were trying to make a conscious decision to not cast — at least, this is my opinion. I'm not the person in charge of it.

I understand why people would be mad. I understand people who are really big fans of the source material would not like to see it changed. I totally get that. I've been hearing the term “blackwashing,” which is funny, as applied to me with L. I just think it's great. I love that word."

Rock band Brand New released their (possibly final) album Science Fiction last week randomly and to the surprise of fans, and is now being predicted to sell 55 thousand copies, giving them their highest ever debut at #1 on the charts.
BrandNew-1503003533-640x427

  • They didn't do any promo and decided to randomly release the record last week online for order. They didn't put the album up for streaming until days later, this weekend, making it also a great feat to debut at #1.

  • This would be their first ever #1 album in their entire career of releasing masterpieces.

The most controverisal song on the record that's been brought up in the overwhelmingly positive reviews is Desert, written from the point of view of a homophobic super conservative man, with lyrics like"I've seen those boys kissing boys with their mouth on the street/ But I raised my son to be a righteous man, I made it clear to him what fear of God means". The song is mocking Catholic/Christian views for being hypocritical af.

  • The couple donated the money through their charity the Clooney Foundation for Justice to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

  • The donation was given as a direct reaction to the events in Charlottesville where white supremacists chanted Nazi slogans and one of the white supremacists drove his car into a crowd of protestors killing one woman and injuring 19 more.

  • Statement from the couple:

We are proud to support the Southern Poverty Law Center in its efforts to prevent violent extremism in the United States. What happened in Charlottesville, and what is happening in communities across our country, demands our collective engagement to stand up to hate.

Amal and I wanted to add our voice (and financial assistance) to the ongoing fight for equality. There are no two sides to bigotry and hate

Martin Scorsese to produce 'gritty and grounded' Joker origin story

$

Martin Scorsese is set to produce a film concerning the origins of the Joker. “The intention is to make a gritty and grounded hard-boiled crime film set in early-80s Gotham City that isn’t meant to feel like a DC movie as much as one of Scorsese’s films from that era, like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull or The King Of Comedy,” Deadline writes. This will be the first film under a new WB banner that expands DC properties with new storylines and different actors (i.e. it's not part of the DCEU apparently).

Promo for Midnight, Texas (aka The Summer Show ONTD Should Be Watching) Episode 6

NBC has given us a show to (sort of) fill the gap left by the first three season of True Blood: Midnight, Texas! This summer show has it all, a nice plot, pretty actors and the supernatural element.

Midnight, Texas is based on the book series of the same name by author Charlaine Harris who also wrote The Southern Vampire Mysteries, the novels which were adapted into the True Blood television series. Most likely there will not be any crossovers (because obvious reasons) and so far it feels like a budget version of True Blood

thank you for your help, mods!

Mariah Carey: ‘I have always had low self-esteem’

“I just feel like I am a regular human being and I deserve the same respect as anybody else. I have always had low self-esteem, and people do not recognize that. I can’t measure what type of respect I deserve. I really can’t.”

"Growing up different, being biracial, having the whole thing where I did not know if I fit in . . . That is why music became such a big part of my life, because it helped me overcome those issues. Sometimes it is hard to let your guard down.”

“I do think to myself, ‘Did they mean this? Or do they not really mean it?’ And that is with everybody, it is not just with three people or just one.”

“I remember it not being easy getting a record deal. Making demos in the middle of the night, sleeping on the floor in the studio, being broke with no food. My go-to meal was [Newman’s Own] sauce. Me and my friend would split the pasta and sauce for, like, a week. Or it was, like, a bagel and iced tea . . . The guy would give it to me at the deli for free.”
