Anon app Whisper lays off 20% of staff POST SECRET POST

"Whisper refuses to race into the graveyard like fellow anonymous social apps Secret and Yik Yak. A source told TechCrunch that Whisper experienced layoffs this week, and after requesting comment, the startup now confirms to us it’s let go of 20 percent of staff so it can become sustainable for the long run."


Whisper will post anonymous texts that people can comment on. Having anonymity can help people speak out and get support.

Eric Bolling sues journalist for $50M for breaking sexual harassment story

- Eric Bolling, Fox News host, is accused of sending unsolicited nudes and lewd texts to female colleagues at Fox and Fox Business (see: Eric Bolling Sent Nudes to Female Colleagues)
- Yashar Ali, a freelancer under contract with HuffPost, broke the story
- The next day, Fox suspended Bolling and launched an investigation
- Bolling is now suing Ali specifically — NOT the Huffington Post — for defamation, seeking $50 million in damages
- HuffPost editor-in-chief has vowed to stand by Ali and financially support him:

Youtube Sensation That Poppy Exposed

A popular YouTube channel directed at finding the background story of famous youtubers has gone and dug up the mysterious past of singer/youtube sensation That Poppy. Michael McCrudden revealed Poppy's past and how she came to be before she was online and performing on tv shows like Late Late Night With James Corden.

  • Her real name is Moriah Perriera and her dad was a drummer for the rockettes and cyndi lauper, so she wanted to be a singer.

  • Poppy was originally played by a girl named Mars Argo, who was dating Titanic Sinclair at the time and essentially acting the same as poppy is now in videos. When they broke up and Moriah (now poppy) came into the picture, Mars disappeared off the internet completely and the old work was deleted.... and Moriah took over.

  • The common denominator is the creepy Titanic Sinclair who is rumoured to be dating Moriah now.

Cardi B Gets Called Out For Calling Dark Skinned Women "Roaches", Acts a Mess in Response

-A twitter user took it upon himself to create a thread of the multiple times Cardi B has called other black women "roaches". Note: every single one of her tweets has been deleted, but you can find screenshots. The user also referenced Cardi's transphobic tweets.
-Once Cardi caught wind of this, she responded with this tweet, telling the creator of the thread: "Your arab ass trying to make shit into being a racist you got no idea what its like being one of color in this country so stfu."
-This was soon deleted when Cardi was again called out for dismissing an Arab's status as a Person of Color, especially after she heavily referenced (or appropriated, whatever you prefer) arab culture in her Bodak Yellow video.

“what About Us” is the first single from P!nk’s upcoming sixth album, Beautiful Trauma, the follow-up to 2012’s critically-acclaimed The Truth About Love. The new single's chorus shows P!nk lamenting for what could have been and all that is lost: “What about us? / What about all the times you said you had the answers? / What about us? / What about all the broken happy ever afters?”


I could not be more excited right now. My single comes out today "what About Us" and my new album "Beautiful Trauma" comes out October 13th. I'm certifiably, insanely proud of this album. It's been a while, and I'm grateful for all the years we've had. Looking forward to the next chapter with you.

With all the Youtuber drama on here lately I was inspired to post about a certain theory that has attracted interest on lesbian twitter. Please note that this is totally just ~one sleuth's opinion~ and is really all speculation when you get into it. But I'm pretty sure I'm right.



In case you're unfamiliar, Stephanie Beatriz is the actress who plays Detective Rosa Diaz on FOX's Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Gaby Dunn is a popular bisexual Youtuber and podcaster known for her comedy skits on her channel, Just Between Us, and her podcast, Bad With Money. She is also pretty well-known for publicly resigning from doing comedy for Buzzfeed back in 2015 before she started the Just Between Us show.

Last June, Stephanie Beatriz came out as bisexual on Twitter with a couple of tweets in response to Aubrey Plaza doing the same thing.






The same day she also indicated a preference for quirky blondes:





As you will know if you've ever watched Gaby Dunn do anything, she is Quirky (like it's her whole brand) and blonde.

Not long after Stephanie came out, she and Gaby started exchanging tweets:

In October, Gaby appeared on Stephanie's weekly Youtube show, Reality Bytes, to discuss polyamory and dating while bisexual. It's super long but the astute viewer will note that she made Stephanie giggle and touch her hair a lot.

A month after that, Stephanie appeared on Gaby's podcast and the description for the episode calls Stephanie "surreal and inspiring."

Around the same time this was developing, Gaby talked publicly about her breakup from her boyfriend and noted that Stephanie (along with some other friends) helped to get her through it.


Things seemed to be developing further this spring when they started tweeting each other hearts:



Then this summer, they went to LA Pride Festival together:



And Gaby came with Stephanie on the red carpet for her show Danger & Eggs. Both looked incredibly gay.



Throughout all this time, Stephanie has been getting more involved in the LGBT community, posting photos of herself for #LGBTbabes and apparently befriending queer women celebrities (and members of Gaby's circle) like Gabby Rivera and Cameron Esposito. She also has been retweeting articles about Gaby's various professional milestones and successes.


Which brings us up to present day! To recap: they tweet at each other all the time (sometimes with hearts), have attended events together and make one another twirl their hair. I wish them happiness in their speculated life together.

A Woman Hasn't Topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in a Year

• It has been exactly one year since a female-fronted track has gone number one on the Billboard Hot 100-- the last being Sia with "Cheap Thrills" on August 27, 2016 which featured vocals by Jamaican performer Sean Paul. The last female-fronted track to go number one without featured vocals was "Hello" by Adele on January 18, 2016.
• Since "Cheap Thrills", 11 all-male songs in a row have reached #1, and the gender disparity reached its peak on the April 29 charts where there wasn’t one female artist in the top 10 for the first time in 33 years. The highest ranking song by a woman right now is Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow," which is currently at #14. There hasn't even been a woman with a song in the Top 10 since Miley Cyrus'"Malibu" which peaked at #10 on May 22, 2017. The closest a female performer alone has come to the #1 spot is Katy Perry's "Chained to the Rhythm," which debuted at #4 in March and then immediately fell down the chart.
• The Chainsmokers'"Closer" took the #1 spot from Sia's "Cheap Thrills" on September 3rd, 2016 and remained there until November 26 chart- which also means no female artist has held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 since Donald Trump was elected president.

  • Rey doesn't really get a warm welcome from Luke and it's new for her because she's made fast friends so far with all the new people she's met (Finn, Han, Leia, BB-8, Chewbacca).

  • She doesn't go to Luke expecting to become a hero herself but to get him back into the fight.

  • Uncovering her past is a big part of Rey's future.

  • While working with Luke she will find that together they may be whole again.

  • Luke has doubts about his connection with the Force after mistakenly thinking his flop nephew was the chosen one and he feels guilty about how he couldn't detect that darkness in him.

  • Luke will discover that there's nowhere he can run to escape himself.

  • He has become less hopeful and more regretful, wishing he could be what Obi-Wan wanted him to be.






  • Finn initially just wants to peace out, maybe find Rey and go off together.

  • He has actually become a big deal in the Resistance and to all the people that have been impacted by the First Order.

  • Rose is a nobody/background player while her sister Paige is the dynamic one, fighting on the front lines as a gunner alongside Poe.

  • Rose being just like everyone else and not royalty or a chosen one is what makes her an interesting addition.

  • Rose is star struck by Finn, and that vision she has of him as a good and brave guy becomes something to live up to. It's his opportunity to be the best he can be and while he still may have the urge to run, he eventually stays in the fight.

* Actor James Lafferty on the day of shooting: "It was one of the few moments I can remember where everybody was talking about it. Like, when you walked into the makeup trailer, or you know, even a transportation driver has read it and you’re talking about it with them. Pretty much the first person you saw, it was the main topic of conversation."

* Schwahn on the criticism post-episode that the show had jumped the shark: "First of all, we were more than 100 episodes in. Second of all, we jumped the shark in, like, Episode 2. Nathan and Haley got married in high school."

* Script coordinator Bryan Garcia on the scene's legacy: "I always tell people: If we had done this super-earnest version [of that story], no one would be talking about it all these years later. To this day, everyone says, 'Oh, you worked on One Tree Hill? That’s where that dog ate Dan’s heart, right?'"

* The dog managed to get the heart and run with it in one take. The ep's director Joe Davola on what came next: "And then I said to myself, 'Now I got to get Chad’s reaction.' That was probably the bigger challenge."
