London Comic Con just occurred this past weekend and aside from the lizard alien takeover, Natalie Dormer also attended. She was asked by a fan if she'll return as Jamie Moriarty in the upcoming (and probable final lbr) season of Elementary and she said that the chances are good. Plus she's cool with the cast and crew and loves JLM and Lucy Liu.

-Carrie Fisher's role still hasn't changed in The Last Jedi.
-"This movie, it sends her off in a very amazing, amazing way. She’s still kept alive in this franchise. You know, that’s the beauty of it, she lives forever in a sense." says John Boyega.
-Director Rian Johnson also said in a recent interview: "I think there are scenes that she has that are going to mean a lot to people. There are scenes that we have with her where now, not having her around, I watch them and… I’m really thankful that we have that and we can give that to people."
-Nothing said so far on her absence from episode 9.

AMC Doesn't Recognize the Lead Character on their #1 Show

AMC posted a photo to their official Twitter account today of Andrew Lincoln, who plays lead character Rick Grimes on their top hit show The Walking Dead, along with Seth Gilliam, who plays Father Gabriel.

But they captioned the photo with the words "New chapter, same badass. Daryl is ready for season 8!"

Daryl, of course, is the supporting character played by Norman Reedus. While he is generally considered the show's most popular character, it's hard to see how AMC could have confused him with Lincoln (for those who don't watch the show, that's Reedus on the left and Lincoln on the right, above).

18-year-old Chandler Riggs, who plays Rick's son Carl, retweeted AMC's gaffe with the caption "Whoa! Daryl looks so awesome!" AMC subsequently deleted the tweet, but fortunately Riggs had screenshotted it and wasn't going to let them get away with that:

ONTD Original: Hillsong Church - The Celebrity Cult

Hillsong Church is a megachurch that originated in New South Wales, Australia (you really make it too easy, Australians). Although the church projects an image of being a fresh new wave of Christianity that embraces the modern world, they still are against homosexuality, abortion, and believe that creationism is the one true explanation for the world; you could say the church serves as a safe space for those who hate science and critical thinking.

As with many churches such as... um... the Tom Cruise one, Hillsong seems to get a lot of attention from the ability to indoctrinate inspire celebrities through their church services. While more traditional forms of religious institutions use actual teachings to bring followers into their fold, Hillsong posits itself as the 'cool' kind of church, and fully utilises the lost herd in Hollywood to influence their even more lost and younger fans to attend. This is further enhanced by the use of totally rockin' Christian music groups like Hillsong Young & Free, as well as Hillsong United. Let's take a look at some of the upstanding, totally stable, and intelligent celebrities they have endorsing them:



Justin Bieber



Probably the most famous sheep that Hillsong has managed to bring to graze on the fields is the Biebs himself. He's frequently shown himself to be a paragon of virtue and moral value throughout his career, whether it be racism (exhibit A&B), a dose of misogyny, public urination, Trump support, or being a r*pe apologist. One thing for sure is that we can count on him to make well-informed and logical decisions. It appears as though JB and the pastor for Hillsong, Carl Lentz, first became close when Lentz baptised JB in 2014. Now they routinely walk around shirtless together, neck down shots, and cancel stadium tours (for Jesus).

He believes the Earth is flat, need I say more? He's also influencing young children to be stupid as well.


Selena Gomez

The very shy, not attention-seeking, and totally forgotten Selena is a big follower of Hillsong. She has previously spoken about them in interviews, and credits God and Carl Lentz with offering her guidance as well as support. You can check out her performing with Hillsong Young & Free below:




Hailey Baldwin



Another of Justin's exes, no not Sophia Richie, but professional wall-starer and daughter of the brother of Alec Baldwin... Hailey. Raised as a Christian Evangelist by her born-again Christian father (a recipe for only positive outcomes of course), Hailey is also a prominent supporter of Hillsong, and has been seen attending their services with Kardashian relatives - the Jenner sisters.


Kendall & Kylie Jenner



Cultured, well-versed, and astute... are all terms that the Jenner sisters don't understand and probably can't sound out either. Underlings to the Kardashian brand built by Kris Jenner using Kim Kardashian's body, these two offer a bevy of not only smart life choices, but business choices too. When they're not slapping their Instagram pictures over copyrighted images of dead celebrities (with actual talent) for profit, or stealing designs (and appearance) from black women to sell; modern-day minstrel Kylie and waddle-model Kendall enjoy a a service at Hillsong now-and-again.


Kevin Durant 🐍

Durant was baptised at Hillsong NYC in 2013, and says that Carl Lentz helped him to realise that we don't need to live by the Ten Commandments, but by the blood of Jesus. About his baptism, Durant said "My coaches, my teammates, my fans. After that, I was just so positive. Showing God [and] His grace." Though none of that love or loyalty went towards Russell Westbrook of course.



Other celebrity followers include Vanessa Hudgens, her boyfriend Austin Butler, Hailee Steinfeld, and Trump-loving model Lucky Blue Smith.

With the criticism of the celebrities themselves aside, I feel the need to reiterate that Hillsong is actually a very dangerous institution with a history of sexual abuse and gay conversion therapy. This article at the DailyBeast details the darker history of Hillsong in great detail, and is really a must-read if you want a deeper understanding of the danger Hillsong poses especially with the huge celebrity influence (see: Kyrie).

The top 2 acts from each division went up against each other. The one with the highest score moved onto the finale next week. The finalists areSwing Latino (Team), Les Twins (Upper), and Eva Igo (Junior).

Kinjaz and Keone and Mari were ROBBED! The scoring was a mess this week once again. Like Ne-Yo gave Keone and Mari a perfect 100, while Jlo only gave them a 90??? And it was very impressive that Les Twins were able to work around Laurent's injury and it's understandable that they didn't have much footwork, but there still wasn't enough actual dancing imo and the 99s from Ne-Yo and Jlo were ridiculous to give them an overall score of 97.7. Swing Latino had my least favorite performance from them so far because of a lack of actual dancing, too many huge props, and a lot of sync issues yet they still beat Kinjaz who deserved to win the whole competition and were the most consistent in performance. And Jlo has worked with Swing Latino before on a reality show and they were the back up dancers for her Celia Cruz AMA tribute. Eva was great and is definitely the more versatile out of her and Diana and I'm glad that the judges were willing to give Diana a more idk...? normal score since she seemed to be Jlo's favorite and was overscored last week imo.

Lorde gave a collaboration shoutout to CL!

On July 28, Lorde performed for the first time in Korea at the Jisan Valley Rock Music & Arts Festival. In an email interview, she revealed that her high school friend introduced her to 2NE1 and Girl’s Generation.

In regards to her interest in K-pop, she said, “I think there are many amazing artists in Korea. I especially like former 2NE1 member, CL. I would love to collaborate with her.”

Lastly, she expressed her love for Seoul as well. She said, “Seoul is a beautiful place, and I felt a lot of positive energy from the city. I especially loved the chicken flavored snacks. Give me some recommendations next time!”

Super mild spoilers from the TCA panel ahead

- Is NOT part of the Abramsverse, but treats other Trek shows, incl Enterprise, as canon (hardcore nerds, ign has a great rundown of Discovery's take on canon/non-canon here)
- Bryan Fuller's vision for the reimagined Klingons were that they be "sexy" and the "aesthetes" of the universe. There were "deep discussions" about their biology (nnnn)
- Exec producer Akiva Goldsman says it's "the most serialized" Trek yet, even moreso than DS9
- Utopian Trek is the end game for Star Trek: Discovery, not the reality. Goldsman: "Part of what we tried to do is speak to how those philosophical mindsets came to be. We're trying to find out who we are as a federation and as a coalition of people in the face of adversity."
- Promises to be nuanced in the treatment of the different races - Klingon actress Mary Chieffo says "no-one is the bad guy". Vulcan actor James Frain says "it's been interesting looking at the human world through those eyes. Humans are barbaric and not to be trusted because they start wars and kill people. Vulcans don't do that anymore."
