Zac Efron shows off his abs while playing with a basketball on the set of his new flick Townies on Tuesday (May 7) in Los Angeles.

The 25-year-old actor was also seen having some fun with a fake baby and a dumbbell.

Zac was last spotted attending a Lakers game, where the team was defeated by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the 2013 NBA Playoffs.

“Zac Efron is incredibly handsome,” Zac‘s Townies co-star Seth Rogen recently shared. “He’s the sexiest [expletive] on the planet!”

Seth added, “I did a scene with him, and we’re both shirtless, and it was a very humbling experience. I marveled at the fact that we’re literally the same species.”

Warner Bros. to Develop New DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Movie

$

While the current slate of blockbuster movies seem to be all superheroes and sci-fi, Warner Bros. is looking to reboot one of the bastions of swords-and-sorcery stories. The studio is looking to develop a feature film franchise based on the long-running fantasy role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons. “But wait,” you say, “didn’t someone already try that with the horrendous 2000 movie by the same name?” Why yes they did! Thirteen years is apparently enough of a cooling-off period to warrant another try. It looks like the picture is already fairly far along the road to development thanks to a reworking of an existing script. Hit the jump for more.

Deadline reports that WB is keen on restarting the Dungeons & Dragons film franchise and will attempt to do it with a reworked script from screenwriter David Leslie Johnson (Wrath of the Titans). Johnson’s script for a movie titled Chainmail was based on an earlier version of the RPG from D&D developer Gary Gygax. The story is being beefed up in order to fit a larger world and make a fitting start to a hopeful franchise. Producing the picture will be Roy Lee (The Lego Movie) and Courtney Solomon, who produced the 2000 flop, Dungeons & Dragons. Allan Zeman – also of Dungeons & Dragons … seeing a pattern here? - will serve as executive producer. If at first you don’t succeed, repeat the exact same steps and hope for something different. There’s a definition of insanity in here somewhere…

According to the write-up, the studio is taking the script to filmmakers and is treating it as a big priority with the intention of introducing a whole new generation to D&D.

She has yet to officially comment about the baggie containing a mysterious white powder she dropped outside her home Wednesday. And Cara Delevingne certainly didn't let an alleged drug scandal get in the way of her good time at the Met Ball in New York Monday. The 20-year-old model was too busy kissing her punk lookalike for the night, Sienna Miller, and hobnobbing with the fashion elite to be bothered.

#CandidlyNicole: Episode 2

In the second episode of Nicole Richie's web series, she visits celebrity florist Eric Buterbaugh.  Nicole is convinced that filling her home with flowers will solidify her adulthood and requests the assistance of Eric to educate her on the art of flower arranging.  It's not as funny as the first episode. Episode 3 looks promising.

Nicole confesses that Joel judges her friends based on their hats in the next episode:

AOL Touts 1 Mil Views for Nicole Richie’s Tramp-Stamp Episode of ‘#CandidlyNicole’

AOL, trying to show that big showbiz names will equal big results, said it has served more than 1 million views of premiere episode of Internet original series Nicole Richie’s “#CandidlyNicole” in less than a week.

In the clip, just under five minutes, Richie, who is now 31, visits a doctor specializing in laser tattoo removal to erase a “tramp stamp” on her lower back, which she got when she was 16 “and an idiot.” (Spoiler alert: Richie decides to not undergo the procedure, which she’s informed would take more than a year.)

By comparison, a broadcast TV show with 1 million viewers would be considered a flop, while on cable it might be a moderate success. In the Internet world, hitting that number in less than a week counts as a viral hit.

AOL has not landed a sponsor for the show, but clips on the “#CandidlyNicole” channel currently are running ads for Chevrolet’s Malibu autos. The show is based on Richie’s Twitter musings about her life, with premiere episode based on post from last November: “Woke up feeling really good about myself, until I remembered I have a tramp stamp.”

Richie, the adopted daughter of pop singer Lionel Richie, has about 4 million Twitter followers. Her April 30 tweet about the series debut allowed Twitter users to watch the clip directly in their feed.

Richie was among celebs appearing at AOL's Digital Content NewFronts event last week, which included Sarah Jessica Parker, Hank Azaria and Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice. AOL and other Internet video providers including Hulu, Sony’s Crackle and Yahoo, are looking to bring in more viewers and ad dollars for original content featuring stars.

“#CandidlyNicole” is produced by Warner Bros. Entertainment’s Telepictures Prods. and World of Wonder.

What happened at Donald Trump's "Free Money" publicity stunt today?

Thousands in New York came to beg Trump for money from the "suitcases and aquariums full of cash"

Bloated spawn of a Penn Station ashtray and Nickelodeon slime Donald Trump spent the afternoon holed up in Trump Tower hosting a massive money booth, filled with hundreds of people trying to grab at the sweaty dollars blowing around them. Sort of, anyway.

After the Don announced via Twitter this morning that he would be giving away suitcases full of cash, close to a thousand people descended on the Trump Tower lobby to try for the giveaways.

Turns out, this sudden bout of generosity has less to do with a kind heart and everything to do with the launch of a new crowdfunding scam called FundAnything.

We dispatched Victor Jeffreys II, Gawker's new photo editor, to the Tower to see what he could see.

When Trump arrived, he tells us, he wandered through the screaming throng mumbling to no one, to everyone, "What's yer problem? What's yer problem? Do you need money?" People waved pictures of their kids at him; some cried.

Trump selected a handful of people and whisked them away to a downstairs room, filled with press and cameras. Standing in front of a podium in front of the considerably smaller crowd, Trump played three different videos.

Each featured a different person in need of Trump's cash. The first told the story of a family, unable to pay their medical bills, supporting a family member with cancer; the second showed small business owner, a woman struggling to run her "educational business" in Albany; the third, an aspiring 20-something singer trying to cover production and touring costs.

Trump then brought the stars of the videos out on stage and gave each a suitcase full of money with different amounts: $40,000 went to the wife of the man with lung cancer, (he was unable to accept the cash in person because, according to FundAnything co-founder Bill Zanker, "He is in the ICU in Canada waiting for a lung"); $15,000 to the business owner; and $25,000 to the singer. Below are the FundAnything suitcases full of cash:

Then came the checks. A security team assembled the small group from the lobby into a kind of line. Trump then asked each of them directly, "Do you need money? What's your problem?"

The answers varied from "My mother is sick with cancer" to "I'm behind on my rent." After distilling the ten greatest sob stories from the pack, he began to sign and give away $5,000 checks. "Give it to your mother," he said to one. "Don't spend it all in one place," he jokingly warned another. Here is a photo of Trump signing checks:

After all ten checks had been doled out, Trump and his team left the room and retreated back to the lobby where a large aquarium full of money was waiting. Babes in FundAnything tank tops guarded the tank.

Security again assembled this new crowd into a line. They were then invited to file by the tank and grab as many bills—ranging from dollar bills to hundreds—as they could hold. No bags were allowed, fists only.

Children rushed by clutching wads to their chest while security worked to keep people in check. People screamed at Trump from the balcony above.

And just as quickly and chaotically as it started, it was over.

Trump has since taken to Twitter to encourage everyone to go to FundAnything immediately and submit a proposal for their campaign. The site's motto reads: Raise Money for Anything. Always wanted to start a company that exclusively sells food-scented medical exam gloves? Now you can. Never had the funds to get your vegan hot dog truck off the ground? Problem solved. Let's all right NOW go to FundAnything and submit our (soon to be) Trump-backed dreams. I personally will be submitting a proposal for my new startup—a traveling gay marriage service that, for every marriage donates one birth control-laced legal marijuana cigarette to a freeloading commie—called Jews4BarackObama.

Seth MacFarlane is officially entering the live-action comedy game. The Family Guy creator’s sitcom pilot Dads has been given a series order by Fox, along with four other new comedies, including one starring Saturday Night Live‘s Andy Samberg.

Dads stars Family Guy voice talent Seth Green and Ted co-star Giovanni Ribisi as two best friends whose lives are turned upside down when their fathers move in. The network’s other new comedies include $#*! My Dad Says author Justin Halpern’s latest Surviving Jack (based on his book I Suck at Girls) and a new offering from Parks & Recreation writer-producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur starring Samberg as a lackadaisical detective.

Below are Fox’s confirmed comedy orders with the latest network-provided descriptions:

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
From Dan Goor and Michael Schur, the Emmy Award-winning writers/producers of “Parks and Recreation,” and starring Emmy Award winners Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE is a single-camera ensemble comedy about what happens when a detective who doesn’t take anything seriously gets a new “by-the-book” boss who wants him to grow up and respect the badge.

DADS
DADS – The new live-action, multi-camera comedy from Emmy Award winner Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, the creatively outrageous team behind “Ted” and FOX’s FAMILY GUY, stars Emmy Award winner Seth Green and Emmy Award nominee Giovanni Ribisi as two successful guys – and childhood best friends – whose lives get turned upside down when their pain-in-the-neck patriarchs (Martin Mull and Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Peter Riegert) move in.

ENLISTED
ENLISTED is an irreverent and heartfelt military-set single-camera family comedy starring Geoff Stults that follows three brothers getting to know each other again on a small Florida Army base and the group of misfits who surround them.

US & THEM
Based on the hugely popular and multiple-award-winning BBC 3 series “Gavin and Stacey” and starring Emmy Award nominee Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel, US & THEM is an ensemble single-camera comedy about a young couple, whose path to happily-ever-after is complicated by the screwed-up circus of people closest to them.

SURVIVING JACK (working title)
SURVIVING JACK (working title) is a new single-camera ensemble comedy based on best-selling author Justin Halpern’s semi-autobiographical book, “I Suck at Girls.” Set in 1990s Southern California, Emmy Award nominee Christopher Meloni stars as a man becoming a dad, as his son is becoming a man, in a time before “coming of age” was something you could Google.

Britney’s upcoming studio album is set to be her most personal yet, including a new demo she fell in love with and is recording, titled “Old City Of Mine,” a music insider tells BreatheHeavy.com.
The track, written by Khaled Rahime, is a ballad about the struggle fame brings her.

Flashing lights have become my savior
My eyes meet the faces of a hundred strangers
And I don’t know where I am or what I’m doing
But I know you’re probably doing fine without me
In that old city of mine

Background vocals provided by Bonnie McKee with Diplo/Will.I.Am producing. It’s a pretty chilling song, but no guarantees it makes the final cut!

Warner Brothers used memes to advertise – and now they’re getting sued by Mr. Nyan

$

Don’t mess with cat memes – especially if your idea of “messing with” is an attempt to profit off their popularity without giving the creators a heads up.  Warner Brothers is facing a host of legal troubles from the creators of Nyan Cat and Keyboard Cat, two of the Internet’s most famous cat-related memes. The creators of these memes say Warner Brothers and game developers 5th Cell used these memes in the game Scribblenaut Unlimited without ponying up the dough for licensed images.

Digital Trends reached out to Chris Torres, the creator of Nyan Cat, but as it goes with people in the middle of a lawsuit, we got a re-direct to a blog post and a press release instead of a new comment. We do know that Torres has teamed up with Chris Schmidt, the creator of

“Keyboard Cat,” to defend their works.

Torres’ blog outlines his argument against Warner Bros. articulately, pointing out that he registered Nyan Cat in 2011, and then it appeared without his consultation in Scribblenauts in 2012. “ I have no issues with Nyan Cat being enjoyed by millions of fans as a meme, and I have never tried to prevent people from making creative uses of it that contribute artistically and are not for profit.  But this is a commercial use, and these companies themselves are protectors of their own intellectual property.”

Torres isn’t against Nyan Cat appearing in games. The silly graphic already appeared in ads for Vitamin Water, Old Spice, and several other products – with Torres’ permission. ”Many other companies have licensed Nyan Cat properly to use commercially.

In Scribblenaut Unlimited, you have to actually type out the words ‘Nyan Cat’ and ‘Keyboard Cat’ to get our characters to appear in the game. In fact, the game forbids you from making any copyright references in their games with a pop-up error.”

Both Torres and Schmidt are graphic artists, so they want to be compensated for their work when it appears in profit-making games. This case may have interesting implications about who owns memes and may spur other companies to be less cavalier when adopting something popular from the Internet.

Nancy Grace and Ashleigh Banfield Hold Split-Screen Interview in Same Parking Lot

$

0

In a bizarre television and spatial anomaly on CNN this morning, the blanket coverage of two true-crime stories led two news anchors to conduct an odd "satellite" interview from the very same parking lot, background traffic and all.

The two suspects are Ashleigh Banfield of CNN and Nancy Grace of Headline News, who were updating viewers on the latest from the ongoing and increasingly ugly Cleveland kidnapping story. (Grace being TV's leading expert on deviant crime.) At first it seems like a normal TV "remote," as Banfield interviews Grace from another location. Then the channel's graphics alert viewers: both anchors are in Phoenix. That's odd. Also: They're both outdoors, sitting in what looks to be a parking lot. And is that same building behind them?

It seems that Grace and Banfield are sitting in the same parking lot, facing in the same direction, and judging by the speed of the vehicles in their shots, they cannot be sitting more than 30 feet away from each other. Yet, they're behaving as if the are on opposite sides of the world. Here's an artist's representation of the warp in space time punditry.

To be fair to Grace and Banfield, they are on two different networks (though they share the same parent company and probably wouldn't be talking to each other if they were true competitors), and cable TV news often features "remote" split-screen interviews with hosts and guests, even when they're in the same building. And Grace and Banfield are both in Phoenix to cover another sensational true-crime tale, the Jody Arias murder case. But despite being on sister stations and the fact Grace would literally only need to walk a few brisk steps to join Banfield on the same camera, the two broadcast teams remain hopelessly torn apart.

Later, Banfield would conduct another interview (this time about Arias) with another Headline News host who was in a different location than Grace, but still in the same parking lot; plus a third HLN regular somewhere else in the Phoenix area. (Also, outdoors and presumably close by.) And don't forget the CNN reporter who is standing across the street from her, waiting in front of the courthouse. A four-headed interview with four people in the exact same city covering the exact same story on at least three different programs on two different networks owned by the same company. So much for corporate synergy.

Madonna works out listening to Xtina, Britney, Missy Elliot, Jay-Z, Frank Ocean & Rihanna

Madonna’s personal trainer of three and a half years, Nicole Winhoffer gave an interview to New York Magazine.
Winhoffer first met Madonna while training backup dancers for the Sticky and Sweet tour in 2009. When the tour ended, Madonna asked Winhoffer to stay on as her primary trainer, and the pair has since co-founded the Hard Candy Fitness brand, which includes a series of DVDs called “Addicted to Sweat.” In addition to Madonna, Winhoffer’s clients include Andrea Riseborough and Abbie Cornish. Read on for more details on Madonna’s workout habits and Met Gala tush.

She explained that she had to make Madonna’s workouts extra butt-specific during the past week to prepare the Queen of Pop for the Met Gala.

NYmag: How long did you spend preparing Madonna for the Met Gala?
Nicole Winhoffer: I knew that the event was on Monday, May 6, so in the week leading up to it, we spent a lot of time on legs and cardio, and particularly on her butt. We kept the room feeling warm, right at 85 degrees, and very humid, to promote sweating, which is good for the skin and circulation and blood flow. I focused on three [specific muscles] of the derriere, and I made sure they were fired during the warm-up, which is about ten to fifteen moves. Then we spent about 45 minutes each day on the toning session, which also focused on legs and inner thighs. We also did lots of cardio, about 35 minutes. We really really tried to burn fat and make sure the skin was tight.

NYmag: How was this different from what you normally do with her?
Nicole Winhoffer: I change the program every week, and when I know that she has to make an appearance, I change the cycle. This was a very difficult week. We put the muscles under fatigue so that it could create a shape. The body is like a sculpture, and we spent a lot of time sculpting the legs and the butt. But we work out six days a week, for about an hour and a half at noon in her home gym, so we’re always on top of it. She’s my most dedicated client.

NYmag: Did you know what she was going to be wearing on Monday?
Nicole Winhoffer: No, I actually didn’t ask her if she was even going until the day before, but I assumed she was. On Sunday, I asked if she was going to show legs, and she was like, “Yeah,” so I’m glad we were prepared. But it’s always different, and she’s so busy that I normally just keep our conversation to the workout. I like to minimize the questions I ask my clients. It’s the same for Andy [Lecompte], who does Madonna’s hair, or Gina [Brooke], who does her makeup, or [Arianne Phillips], who has been styling her for 30 years. We come prepared, and work together, and we manage her so that she doesn’t have to worry about being asked a million questions.

NYmag: Can you give examples of other events you’ve prepped her for?
Nicole Winhoffer: She never has to tell the people that work for her what’s happening, because she has the best of the best around her, so we [her staff] all work together. If we know that she’s doing the Super Bowl, for example, I talk to Ari, her wardrobe designer, right away. When she’s prepping for a tour, I know all about her fittings and what she’s wearing on stage, and then I pay special attention to how her clothes should fit. If she’s in a corset or her butt is showing, I make sure to really pay attention to those areas.

NYmag: Does she have any areas of her body that she likes to really focus on?
Nicole Winhoffer: We really focus on the butt. That’s my specialty. I think it’s the most important part of a woman [laughs]. But it can be hard to get her body to respond because she’s so strong and has so much endurance already. For her to feel an exercise, I have to put her in these really odd positions to even make a butt lift work. We’ll be hanging from the ceiling, dangling from ropes, or on ballet bars. Because she’s been working out for so long, it’s always a challenge to put her body in a pose that she has never done before.

NYmag: How do you motivate her on days when she’s tired and doesn’t feel like working out?
Nicole Winhoffer: First of all, music is super-important — that’s what drives the movement. We’re both dancers, so every day I have a new playlist for her. The rhythm and style of the music helps dictate the workout. Number two, she’s a human like all of us. Some days she’s not motivated. We all have days when don’t want to go to the gym, and on those days I know that I have to work extra hard to keep the energy up. I do the workouts with her, so I’m leading her and we’re exchanging energy. I’m also very verbal. I count out loud, and yesterday, I screamed out, “Okay, you’re gonna show your legs!” But she’s super-focused when there’s good music playing.

NYmag: What kind of playlists did you have this week?
Nicole Winhoffer: Right now we’re listening to a lot of old-school R&B, because the program that we’re doing has slower toning and a lower BPM [beats per minute]. So there’s some Missy Elliot, old Jay-Z, Frank Ocean, Chris Brown, Rihanna. Last week her workout had a higher BPM, so we were listening to a lot of remixes, like remixed Christina Aguilera and Britney songs. It just varies. Sometimes I play Rastafarian music and she’s like, “What is that?” [Laughs.] But it’s good to change it up, keep the imagination and brain working, and keep her body inspired.

Lady Gaga Resurfaces in NYC at 'Gatsby' Screening

Lady Gaga has been unusually quiet lately. Since her surgery in February, there have hardly been any sightings of the "Born This Way" singer and her social media activity has come to a screeching halt.

In fact, Gaga's extended absence is so unusual that rumors began to surface that she had checked herself in to rehab.

Up until yesterday, the most recent spotting was in April when a gloomy-looking Gaga was being driven around in Malibu, which further fueled the rehab rumors.

Last night, however, Gaga debunked that theory when she attended The Great Gatsby screening in NYC with boyfriend Taylor Kinney.

After the screening, Caliche Rum threw an awesome after party, where celebrity guests like Gerard Butler, Miranda Kerr and Rachel Zoe were served specialty Gatsby-themed cocktails while they enjoyed music from the movie's soundtrack.

Gaga and Taylor opted not to attend the after party and it sounds like they were trying to avoid being seen altogether as they quietly snuck in to the theater and snuck out before the movie ended to avoid any fanfare.

Either way, we're glad to see Gaga is on the mend and was able to enjoy a nice date night with her man.

Watch Hologram Feist Play 'How Come You Never Go There' in Three Cities at Once

Samsung beams Broken Social babe into all of the parties.

Goodbye Holo-Pac, hello Holo-Feist. Broken Social Scene matriarch, occasional black metal dabbler, and oak-sturdy solo artist Leslie Feist played in three Canadian cities at the exact same time last night thanks to the latest in holographic technology. Fans in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal were treated to simultaneous sets from the singer-songwriter, who materialized out of thin air at the behest of Samsung, as Exclaim reports.

The smartphone giants collaborated with projection company Musion to bring Feist to all three of their regional Galaxy S4 launch parties. Above, you can watch her strum and shred her way through "How Come You Never Go There." While this footage showcases a fairly simple setup, other clips (with terrible sound) display the performer accompanied by a prismatic array of, well, herselves. Meanwhile, the "making of" video below gives insight into the production.

"To get a chance to be a hologram is kind of playing into every childhood fantasy dream of the magic of smoke and mirrors," says Feist in the clip. "[It] really lives up to a lot of my dreams in terms of the things I have been trying to do live for years."

Look at what the light did now.

She is amazing live, so this better not be the future.

Farrah Abraham: “I made a sex tape because I'm sad sometimes. It's my way of being happy!”

$

Farrah was interviewed on Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday about her recent sex-capades, released in the form of porn titled "Backdoor Teen Mom". The first question posited to the star -- why?

"I have no relationships and I'm, like, sad sometimes. So taking all this into consideration, which some find it hard to, that's what brought me here today," says Abraham. "I felt this was my way of embracing my sexuality and being happy for me."

Abraham goes on to detail that she hired professional porn star James Deen because she felt that would keep her sex tape private, instead of having it go public the way it did.

"I was under the belief this would help better protect me and my privacy. So I was like, 'If this guy's so professional and everything's going to be fine,' then I was like, 'I'm happy with tihs choice,'" says Abraham. "[But Deen] made it like his own thing and that's why I was like, 'You know what, let me be one step ahead and let me gain control of my own video again.' Biggest Loser Couple Sam Poueu & Stephanie Anderson Split Up - with Baby on the Way.

Nobody is winning in this situation.

Biggest Loser stars Sam Poueu and Stephanie Anderson have separated - two months before their first child is due.

"It is with great sadness that my marriage to Sam Poueu is ending," Anderson tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. "Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy during this difficult time."

The two, who met on the hit NBC show's season 9 and wed in April 2012, are in the process of divorcing - but no papers have been filed yet. Poueu, 28, proposed to Anderson, 33, during a special episode of the Biggest Loser in 2010. Shortly after, he admitted to Anderson that "he wanted to have children and grow old with me," she said at the time.

The couple announced in January that they were expecting; they'll welcome a baby boy in July.
