Gwynnie P. Presents... Esquivel for goop AKA The Ugliest Shoes to Ever Cost Just Under $1,000 Bucks.

dsd0907-gwyneth-paltrow-13-480x720

Each and every morning (or rather late afternoon) I awake from my Ambien induced slumber, slip into one of my goop camisoles and am instantly met with the realization that I simply look too attractive to leave my bungalow without causing every man I walk past to ejac right then and there. It’s so hard. Both my life and their penises. Honestly, you ugo’s have no idea how easy you have it. You can just go about you day, being ugly and poor and morbidly obese size 6’s, and live your life without every man and Maddow coming and cumming onto you. But like a beacon of white (almost pasty) light, Gwyneth Paltrow has come to my rescue.

Knowing better than anyone what makes a person completely sexually repellent, Gwynnie the Goop has put up for sale the most hideously unattractive and overpriced shoes I have ever seen; and I’ve been to Ross (Total accident, by the way. Long story short, I told my limo driver to bring me to Sergio Rossi and he misheard me. Silly poors. I’ve since had him deported). Anyway, no matter how beautiful I may be, and I am, I really, really am, there is absolutely no way anyone could possibly find me even remotely attractive in these monstrosities. And once I tell someone that they cost $750 a pair, well, let’s just say that my vagina will be as less attended than the opening weekend of Country Strong.

The first pair come in a gold metallic that is so fashion forward…if this was 4 seasons ago and I was 6. They scream secondhand kiddie pageant kicks Honey Boo Boo found whilst dumpster diving at JonBenet Ramsey’s crime scene. They are basically everything that’s wrong with America and I, for one, love them.

dedfw

The second pair comes in a grey suede which is apropos because if Gwyneth Paltrow were a fabric she was so be grey suede. Grey is sort of sickly looking and blends into the background and it's really no one first choice and suede was very popular in the late 90s but since then no one has really given a fuck about it.

jbk,

Alright, well, I think I have made a pretty solid case for why you need these clunkers in your closet. Make sure to purchase your Esquivel for goop Wing Tips today, not because they'll sell out, I mean, c'mon, but you want to make sure you get them before they go on sale or worse yet end up in a discount retailer! And as always, goop’s products are only available in the US because the rest of the world hates us enough already.

Til tomorrow my darlings; stay richer than a Romney, bonier than a Beckham and crazier than a Cruise. XOXO

Ryan Lochte plays a sex idiot on " 30 Rock" and hopefully not anywhere else. The Olympic swimmer will guest star as himself in the Thursday, October 18 episode of "30 Rock" (8 p.m. ET on NBC).

In the NBC comedy, Lochte will play the "sex idiot" of Jack's (Alec Baldwin) new lady love. Here's how NBC describes the episode:

Liz (Tina Fey) works to prove to Tracy (Tracy Morgan) that women are funny while simultaneously attempting to head off a meltdown from Jenna (Jane Krakowski) after some negative publicity. Jack tries out an unconventional dating strategy.

"I get to play myself, I get to play just Ryan Lochte, so it's not too much acting that I have to do," Lochte said in an on-set interview. "So that's pretty good."

I didn't know if some of you guys wanted a viewing post for Ryan's episode so I made one. I don't have any stream links, if you have any just post them and I'll add them to this OP.

gives 4 1/2 star

“We Are Never Ever Gettting Back Together” explodes of moving on big time. Big hit, great song. What else do we have here?  ”22′” is the do it all and see what happens song. This will have mixed results at best. More Rock than Country here. “Treacherous” is more laid back, but the edge is more front and center here than in past Taylor recordings. “The folky “Stay Stay Stay” is catchy and laid back and breaks up the other songs nicely. “State of Grace” is so not Country but a big rush of Rock for sure. In spite of that, this is really darned good.

“State of Grace” is Pop/Rock done very nicely and this is quite a pleasing song. “Starlight” just might make you forget your Ex was a big mistake. “Sad Beautiful Tragic” is just as it sounds. In the process, a wonderful song is the outcome. Putting all your demons into a recycling bin and trying again is what we have here. The title track is an Acoustic/Pop song with not much Country here.

“The Lucky One” has a Pop mentality. It is also simply pretty darned good, as this is in general. “The Last Time” is something completely different and really works. “I Knew You Were Touble” makes a Rock song, but the act is so humanly must have. Welcome to the world of catch 22. ” I Almost Do” Is a really nice Acoustic Rocker. Country on this release is not what is going on here. “Holy Ground” is a Rockin’ thing for sure. Great song and from a  non judgemental viewpoint, this is another winner.

The acoustic “Everything Has Changed” has a catchy drum shuffle and a lot more.”Begin Again” is more mellow and more Country than the norm here. Nice break up of variety. “All Too Well” is another laid back song. Not a bad song here suggests a 4 and a half star major release in a strong Holiday season this year across the board.

Just kidding!

Heidi Montag’s life has taken a drastic turn over the years.

After skyrocketing to fame on “The Hills” and making headlines for undergoing 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day in 2010, the former reality star is happy to be living her life out of the spotlight.

The 26-year-old stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Thursday, where she dished about her now infamous choice to go under the knife and come back up with a whole new look.

Heidi explains where she was mentally and emotionally at the time of the surgery.

“I would never do it again and I never recommend it for anyone,” Heidi told Billy and Kit.

Romney Supporters Love Lady Gaga, Obama Supporters Prefer Britney Spears

Online social service StumbleUpon compiled its user information to determine the differences in musical preference between Obama and Romney supporters, and illustrated the results in a handy-dandy graph. Yes, yes, we're sick of politics too, but this is actually sort of interesting.

Would you have guessed that Romney supporters' pop star of choice is Lady Gaga? Us neither. Other faves of Romney folks include Led Zeppelin and Johnny Cash.

Obama fans prefer Britney Spears, which is also sort of surprising. They also enjoy Radiohead and John Lennon.

Aside from being an interesting factoid, these tidbits could actually prove useful. Believe it or not, some voters are still undecided! And, at this point, if little things like health care, woman's rights or foreign policy don't sway your vote, maybe musical groupthink will. So, any undecided Little Monsters out there? Your presidential ballot just got a whole lot easier.

Sheila Johnson, BET Co-Founder, Thinks Network is a ‘Squandered’ Opportunity.

From EURWeb: Since the Johnsons sold BET to the wolves, the network has taken on a new look, new theme, and a new direction. And neither side seems very happy about it.

Sheila Johnson, co-founder of the black network, gave BET a piece of her mind before, and she did it again, recently.
She was the speaker at the “Conversations and Encounters” program at the Carmel Art and Film Festival in Monterey County, Calif. this weekend.
She shared her story about the successes and life achievements both she and her husband built together over the years, expressing that she is most proud of BET’s Teen Summit, which ran from 1989 to 2002.
But her moment of admitted accomplishments quickly turned to what appeared to be disappointment and built up anger; claiming that her product now ”reinforces negative stereotypes of young people, African Americans in particular.”

She also said:
“I think we squandered a really important cable network, when it really could have been the voice of Black America. We’re losing our voice as a race as a result,” she ranted. “I’m really worried about what our young people are watching. There are so many young people who are using the television as a babysitter. We have parents who are not being parents and not monitoring what their children are watching.”

X Factor UK secrets and 'fixing' exposed (by Frankie Cokeupthenozza!)

X Factor UK’s secrets and fixing have been supposedly revealed.

tumblr_m9tl98vo8h1qbmaeno1_500

Former X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza, who was last year booted out of the show, has told how many aspects of the show aren’t what they seem.

In truth, it’s nothing that new, but it’s rare for a former contestant to go into so much detail.

Frankie explained that bosses had originally did “everything they could” to keep him in the show, before then forcing him out.

He tells the Daily Star newspaper today: “I just got caned week in week out. I didn’t want to be there but they did everything they could to keep me in.

“And then when I kept getting through each week I think they thought: ‘Sh*t, he could win this and we can’t have that,’ so they f***ed me off in the most horrible way.

“I thought those people were my mates but then I realised I couldn’t trust them.”

The teenager also claims that bosses would ferry him to nightclubs, despite banning the other contestants from going out.

“I was the only one allowed out on the show last year,” he explained. “They’d tell me I had VIP at a club and would book me a car to take me to the door. I used to laugh at the others because they weren’t allowed out. I was such a dick.

“Then when I arrived there were paps everywhere!”

And finally, Frankie suggested that all of the decisions on everything from song choice to styling didn’t come from the judges.

Although we find it hard to believe any one other than Louis Walsh has been choosing District3′s tracks this series.

Frankie, who releases his The Motorcycle EP next month, reveals to the tabloid: “They wouldn’t let me do the songs I wanted to do, they wouldn’t let me wear what I wanted to, and I was just too much of a pussy to say no.

“And those decisions didn’t come from my mentor Gary Barlow, they came from above.

“The judges don’t pick songs and stuff, they’ll be told to choose between four. It’s ridiculous, actually ridiculous.”

The news follows claims earlier this week that the shows judges are told which acts to keep when it comes to the results sing off.

Following in the fallout from the previous two decisions on the results show, which both saw the judges sent the vote to deadlock, a former employee has said it is “well known” backstage that the panel are “briefed on who should go”.

“The judges are told who to keep for the sake of the ratings,” the former employee told Reveal magazine this week.

TV watchdog Ofcom is expected to announce next week whether or not it will investigate the show after more than 3,000 complained when Carolynne Poole left ahead of Rylan Clark.

Y&R’s Michael Muhney On Recent Plots: “I don’t think half of those stories needed to happen!”

The Young and the Restless Michael Muhney (Adam) is visiting Vancouver, British Columbia this weekend making a personal appearance at the West Coast Women’s Show, so the popular actor spoke about the major behind-the-scenes changes recently at the number one soap.

In addition, having been asked a question about how far afield some of the more recent storylines went with the characters of the show, Muhney had some choice words.

Muhney on Adam taking Sharon’s baby and then having an affair with her, then when Sharon married Adam’s father, Victor!:
“It saddens me that when you summarize the storyline, the show and some of its recent past sounds like cartoonish passions. I don’t think half of those stories needed to happen. I wouldn’t have gone that far in the writing with the baby issue. The Victor and Sharon marriage was almost like an inside joke.”

Muhney on characters moving forward in a new direction under head writer Josh Griffith and new EP, Jill Farren Phelps:
“A lot of the characters on the show are going to have to get a get-out-of-jail-free card, in terms of what happened in the last few years. For these characters to have long-term strength and respectability, the audience is going to have to look at them like 85 per cent of what happened in the last few years was a bad dream.”

Muhney on how Adam will be written now under the transition to the new writing regime:
“As a proverbial torch is passed on, as in any kind of storytelling or dynasty … I think you’re going to see a more mature voice coming out of the characters’ mouths, including Adam, a kind of Adam that most people can get on the side of and cheer for. Adam is not the bad guy. Adam is far too complex and far too grey to be defined. Sometimes Adam is the antagonist, sometimes he’s a misunderstood protagonist. There are too many grey areas to put him in a box.”

Soap Queen Susan Lucci moves beyond sudsy melodrama!

When ABC axed the long-running daytime soap All My Children last year, venerable star Susan Lucci was livid and used the epilogue in her memoir All My Life to chide network heads for their decision.

But the amiable actress, who played conniving shrew Erica Kane for the show's 41-year duration, says she's moved past the dismay she felt back then.

"It has taken me this entire year - the show went off the air just a little over a year ago - and I tell you quite honestly, it has taken me all this time to make peace with it," Lucci, 65, said.

"It's almost impossible for me to say All My Children and Erica Kane in the past tense, I think largely because so many viewers keep her and the show alive in their hearts, and I feel that way.

"But you have to go forward, and I feel fortunate to be going forward with such great projects, such great people."

One of those projects is the new series Deadly Affairs, which airs Thursdays on Investigation Discovery (it debuted last week) and profiles real cases of relationships that were tainted by adultery and ended in tragedy.

Lucci hosts and narrates, playing a sultry and shrewd character similar to the All My Children role that earned her an Emmy Award nomination almost every year since 1978 (she eventually won it in 1999, ending a much-lampooned losing streak that was touted as a curse).

"It is not Erica Kane but it is certainly a nod to Erica Kane, and that's how it was presented and that made me happy," said Lucci, who will also play a crafty character in the upcoming Lifetime comedy-drama series Devious Maids, created by Desperate Housewives mastermind Marc Cherry.

And what better model for the host of a series that details soap-opera-style love triangles and quadrangles than the man-hungry Kane.

"The passion, the deception, the revenge - all those things certainly have happened to Erica, for sure, on All My Children, and she's been heavily involved in all of that stuff."

OLTL Book On The Way!

A new book from Jeff Giles looking back at the history of ONE LIFE TO LIVE will be released next year. The press release below offer the specifics:

Llanview in the Afternoon: An Oral History of One Life to Live Digs Into the Oft-Overlooked Side of Daytime Soaps

Book Due for Publication in 2013

During its more than four decades on the air, the ABC daytime series One Life to Live told countless stories, from sensational adventures to thoughtful social commentary. But the tales that went untold -- the experiences of the writers, producers, cast and crew behind the scenes -- are just as fascinating as any kidnapping, baby switch, or courtroom confession.

As a youth during the medium’s ratings peak in the ‘80s, entertainment writer Jeff Giles absorbed years of OLTL storylines, thanks to his mother’s dedicated viewership of the ABC daytime lineup. Today, network soaps are struggling for survival against cheaper-to-produce talk shows and reality series, but their cultural impact resonates more strongly than ever -- and a tribute to the work that goes into producing them is long overdue.

“Soaps have been at the vanguard in a lot of ways, and now that so many of them are being canceled, I’m afraid they could be the canary in the coalmine for scripted entertainment,” says Giles. “I don’t think Hollywood could support a medium that tells a 40+ year story anymore.”

Giles became reacquainted with OLTL during the 2007 Writers Guild strike after reading that the show was undergoing a creative renaissance, and was quickly convinced that there was a more in-depth, less sensationalistic story to tell about the people and the work behind one of the longest-running series in a much-maligned medium.

To that end, Llanview in the Afternoon: An Oral History of One Life to Live focuses on some of the most unique aspects of working on a five-day-a-week television series -- from the actors, who had to deal with the daytime stigma and the psychology of living so intimately with their characters for extended periods of time, to the crew, who produced scripts and episodes at a blistering pace while working with a dwindling pool of network resources.

Giles is currently wrapping up an extensive list of interviews, which already includes discussions with such OLTL vets as Erika Slezak, Robin Strasser, Robert S. Woods, Hilary B. Smith, Ilene Kristen, Kassie DePaiva, Michael Storm, Judith Light, and Nathan Fillion -- plus many more -- with an eye toward publishing the book by summer 2013.

About the author:
Jeff Giles is an entertainment writer and editor with over 20 years of experience, as well as the editor-in-chief of the online pop culture magazines Popdose and Dadnabbit. His work can currently be regularly seen at a variety of sites, including Rotten Tomatoes, Movies with Butter, Diffuser.fm, Ultimate Classic Rock, Loudwire, American Songwriter, and Paste Magazine.

Ted Shackelford & Joan Van Ark Set To Appear In DALLAS!

Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark are bringing their KNOTS LANDING and DALLAS characters, Gary and Valene Ewing, to TNT's DALLAS for a big family reunion set to air in Spring 2013.

According to TV Guide Magazine, Shackelford (currently starring in THE YOUNG AND THE RESLTESS) and Van Ark (winner of an Indie Soap Award earlier this year for her work in PRETTY) will be on for a three-episode arc. No word if their all-grown-up twins, Bobby and Betsy, will be joining them.

Gary and Valene's daughter, Lucy, appeared in the first season of the new DALLAS. Actress Charlene Tilton will be back for Season 2 which premieres January 28.

ENOX AVENUE Premieres October 29!

Al Thompson's much-anticipated web series LENOX AVENUE is set to premiere on October 29. Back in 2010, WE LOVE SOAPS TV traveled to the real Lenox Avenue to speak with Thompson and one of the stars of the series, Ryan Vigilant.

Susan Lucci's DEADLY AFFAIRS shoots in New York, uses some ALL MY CHILDREN crew!

DEADLY AFFAIRS is shot in New York, where ALL MY CHILDREN was filmed until 1999, when ABC relocated the set to California to save money.

In fact, DEADLY AFFAIRS even hired the same hairdresser, makeup artist and wardrobe stylist Lucci had on ALL MY CHILDREN in the Big Apple.

"So that's wonderful and inspires confidence. It makes me very happy to work with them," said Lucci, whose other recent projects have included a recurring role as herself on "Hot in Cleveland."

Lucci said she's also kept in touch with ALL MY CHILDREN creator Agnes Nixon as well as the defunct show's production staff, its casting director, and several cast members. Among them is Eden Riegel (Bianca), Richard Paull Goldin (Jake), Jill Larson (Opal) and Alicia Minshew (Kendall).

"We all either text or get together for dinner whenever we can," said Lucci.

E.J. Bonilla Joins REVENGE!

GUIDING LIGHT alum E.J. Bonilla has joined the cast of REVENGE, according to TVLine. Bonilla will play a man from Nolan's past.

The exact nature of the pair’s connection is unclear, but given the tech genius’ malleable sexuality it’s possible the mystery man is an ex-boyfriend. If so, that would add an interesting wrinkle to his current flirtation with his NolCorp colleague Padma (Dilshad Vadsaria).

Soap fans know Bonilla best from his role as Rafe Rivera, the son of Natalia and Gus, in GUIDING LIGHT. He spoke to We Love Soaps about his career aspirations when we visited the show's Peapack set in July 2009.

I’m a baby. I’m a complete baby. I haven’t experienced as much as I’d like to so far. But I’ve been blessed enough and I’ve done a film and I’ve done a few where I’ve gotten to gain some experience. I want to be on film. It’s the best place to capture the most real things. I want to play with amazing writers and directors and create things that make people escape from their normal realities. I want to give people a break from the regular world and sit there and breathe for a moment, whatever that means.

General Hospital Fave Ignacio Serricchio Joins The Young and the Restless!

There's a new sheriff in town. Better yet, he's a kickass cop from New York! Argentina-born heartthrob Ignacio Serricchio, best known to suds fans as psychotic mob spawn Diego Alcazar on General Hospital, is heading to The Young and the Restless where he'll be on the other side of the law. Serricchio is set to play a new character named Alex, a streetwise undercover officer who comes to Genoa City from the Big Apple with a big secret. A rep for the CBS soap tells TV Guide Magazine that the actor is expected to begin work in late October and will hit the air in December.

The Emmy-nominated Serricchio, who logged recent guest stints on The Client List, CSI: Miami, The Finder and Covert Affairs, has also been a regular on the hit internet soap The Bay. Is he the wave of the future at Y&R? When the soap's new production czars, exec producer Jill Farren Phelps and head writer Josh Griffith, reported for work a couple of months back, they promised to bring a vibrant Latino contingent to the show. Clearly, they're off to a great start!

Joanna Johnson: Daytime Used To Be The More Progressive Place!

Joanna Johnson revisted her career and her role as a producer of the new CW series EMILY OWENS, M.D. in a new interview with AfterEllen out today. She hopes to return to THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL as Karen and "that they still would want me to do it when I have a little more time and I can." She also talks about how daytime television isn't as progressive as it used to be.

AE: Have you found since you were involved in bringing a lesbian character onto BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, did you find that it’s a different kind of approach you have to take when it’s daytime as opposed to primetime?
JJ: Well I guess there is a different approach when it’s CW and it’s a nighttime show and then when it’s THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, which is a daytime show. Daytime used to be the more progressive place where they would bring up controversial issues and you could sort of get away with things in daytime. The censors thought, oh the kids aren’t home during the day. Of course now with recording things, it’s changed. I’ve kind of found that in some ways daytime has gotten a little more conservative over the years, definitely than nighttime, some of the things…they’re not as provocative.

But I think THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL has been a certain kind of show that didn’t really tackle a lot of provocative issues, which is OK. It’s really a show for entertainment. They’ve done some really cool things and some great storylines, but they’ve never had a gay character before. I think it’s great that Brad Bell wanted to bring on a gay character. But I also will say that it’s a safe gay character in the sense of, I’m certainly not going to get involved in any romance. I know that my daughter now has two moms and that’s interesting but I'm sure he’s not going to have me suddenly falling in love with Brooke and have an affair. I don’t think we’re going to go there.

Kelly Monaco on her grueling DWTS schedule!

"It is the most difficult thing I have ever done. We did eight hours yesterday and I’m on my way to the studio for pretty much the same today. I have bruises all over my body and everything hurts. I can’t breathe without feeling my ribs hurt. I’ve done triathlons and never hurt this much."

Eileen Davidson on her DAYS OF OUR LIVES characer, Kristen, working at a church!

"She’s trying to redeem herself with Salem and she’s trying to convince everybody that she’s changed, and that she’s had tons of therapy, and she wants to make amends and show that she is a better person. So what better way to do that then to be working in The House of the Lord."

Redaric Williams & Lamon Archey Join THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS!

The Young and the Restless may have found two newcomers who may (finally) help fans forget that Shemar Moore, aka Malcom Winters, ever lived and breathed in Genoa City.

Newcomer Redaric Williams (pictured, right), an international model who recently became the face of Carling Black Label in South Africa, will play the new role of Tyler Douglas. Lamon Archey (pictured left), another model making the transition to the small screen, will play a new dude named Mason. Unfortunately, that’s all the information that Y&R is releasing on these hunks for now — but we did learn that they’ll start showing up around the athletic club and the coffee house in November.

Jill Farren Phelps has been promising lots of changes on Y&R since taking over as executive producer in the wake of Maria Arena Bell’s exit. (The new head writer is Josh Griffith). Last month, she made the decision to drop Genie Francis, who has played Genevieve Atkinson, since May 2011. Marcy Rylan, aka Abby Newman, was also shown the door.

'Excuse Me For Living' Opens! Photos From The Set!

Excuse Me For Living, a new film starring a number of soap alums including Tom Pelphrey and Melissa Archer, opened on Friday in 14 cities and nationwide on VOD, iTunes and other major platforms. Photographer Sue Coflin (Max Photos) visited the set on May 1, 2011, and shared some photos from that day with our readers.

GENERAL HOSPITAL actor Scott Reeves heads for Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival!

His first TV appearance was in 1984 when he was on the game show PRESS YOUR LUCK. He was 18.

"I racked up 10 grand, then got a Whammy," he said during a telephone interview from his home outside of Nashville, Tenn. "To me, that was like a million bucks. Then it all crumbled."

His first daytime drama appearance was in 1988 on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

"I played the spiky-haired punk," he said.

On the set he met Steve Burton, with whom he would later costar with on GH (Burton just left the show).

There he would also meet his future wife. Melissa Reeves (Jennifer). He said they didn't start dating until February of 1989. A month later, they were engaged. They married in 1990 and have two children, Emily, 20, and Larry, 15.

CYNTHIA WATROS GETS LOST: 'Of Course I Can Act. I Won An Emmy For The GUIDING LIGHT For God's Sake'!

The hilarious new Cynthia Watros web series, CYNTHIA WATROS GETS LOST, begins with hearing her side of a phone call with her agent as she is leaving an audition:

"Did you even read the specs? You sent me in there with a bunch of trannies.....Of course I can act. I won an Emmy for the GUIDING LIGHT for God's sake. You're my agent, you should....yes, it was 14 years ago, but..."

She ends up with a Guru where she guesses, "You're a GUIDING LIGHT fan." He replies, "I'm a guiding light."

And so it begins. The up-and-down life of an actress looking for work. Written and directed by Ben Fritz, there have now been three episodes released. Watch them all below:

Bryan Cranston Talks Hayden Panettiere Connections On LIVE!!

BREAKING BAD star Bryan Cranston has more than one connection to NASHVILLE actress Hayden Panettiere – he was married to her mom when they were both in LOVING and he once hired the young actress for an episode of MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE.

During a Thursday appearance on LIVE! WITH KELLY & MICHAEL, the actor mentioned Panettiere’s mother, Lesley Vogel, played Doug Donovan's wife (Edy Lester) on LOVING in 1984, and years later he later cast her daughter.

"I was directing an episode of MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE," he explained, "and Hayden came in and she was supposed to play this kind of nerdy girl, but she’s far too pretty – but she was clearly the best actress."

"So my producer and I were sitting there … and we thought, 'Maybe if we frizzed her hair up and put glasses on her, we could possibly get away with that.'"

Cranston also said he taped LOVING a block away from the LIVE! studio in New York. Vogel joined the show in early April 1984. Panettiere wasn't born until 1989.

DANIEL BARGAINS WITH NICOLE!

Daniel can't believe it when he learns that Nicole is accusing Jennifer of having pushed her down the stairs. Daniel isn't sure what to believe. He tells Nicole that he'll leave Salem with her if she drops the charges against Jen. Shawn Christian explains that this is a "very self-sacrificing attempt to help both women out of their predicaments".

Roman arrives to take a statement from Nicole, but she says she's now not sure if she was pushed. The charges are dropped and Daniel and Nicole make plans to leave Salem.

But when Jen learns the charges have been dropped, she wonders why...

Richard Steinmetz OUT at General Hospital!

Looks like General Hospital altered some of its planned story course with the news out in this week’s Soap Opera Digest (on newsstands now) that Richard Steinmetz (Joe Jr.) has been let-go at the ABC soap and it’s storyline-dictated!

Steinmetz told SOD, “I’ve known for a little while. Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital) told me that with the exit of Jason, they’re going in a different direction. Him leaving meant that they had to change some things around and I taped my last scenes a few weeks ago. I was pretty sad! I really did enjoy working there. A lot of people told me they were unhappy I was leaving, like Erik Valdez (Trey), my on-screen son, and Kelly Sullivan (Kate/Connie). It doesn’t change anything, but it makes me feel good. ”

The actor went on to say that his one regret was, “That I didn’t get to work with the character of Connie. What a friggin’ shame, man. Connie and Joe would have lit it up! It would have been a blast.”

DRAMATIC END FOR JASON!

This week is going to be about family coming together. Jason and Sam are reunited with the baby but in the midst of the celebration, Jason’s life will once again intrude into the possibility of living happy ever after. Enter Duke, who’s been trying to steal Sonny’s empire. Since Joe Jr. botched the first plan of killing Kristina, he has to redeem himself. Joe is eager. Could Jason be walking into a trap? Will Joe become a casualty of his own scheme, more than likely. After dramatic events unfold, Monica receives shocking news. While processing, she goes through the family album and makes a mysterious phone call. This leads to some big events in the Quartermaine family.

Y&R's Bell To Viewers: "It's All The New Guys"!

Y&R's ousted Executive Producer/Head Writer Maria Arena Bell wants fans to know that she is not responsible for the current story, despite her name being included as a writer in the opening credits of the show's first week of material penned by new head scribe Josh Griffith. Bell posted on her Facebook page: "to any Y and R viewers who read my Facebook page... I had NOTHING to do with the way they are resolving these stories. Despite my name still being on the show— which it should not be — I did not intend to have Phyllis trial end with charges being droppedor any of these other story lines now playing. I am no longer a part of this show in ANY way, folks. It's all the new guys."

The Week In The Year 2001!

Brooke took Stephanie's advice about concentrating on her children and demanded that Deacon leave Bridget. Thorne tried to convince Rick to confront Amber about her feelings for Deacon. Kristen proposed to Tony. Eric asked Sally to inform him of Kristen's visits to Spectra.

Both Jan and Nicole suffered the aftermath of Paul's shooting and ultimate death; Jan was dealt with the trauma of Paul's rape that was privy only to Shawn as well as possible criminal charges for shooting Paul, and Nicole was forced to relive her tortured past as an abused child at the hands of her father. Brandon and Nicole were shocked at Faye's reaction to Paul's death. Philip apologized to Chloe again and was determined to win her back. The Brady pub served as the gathering of family and friends for the teens return. Chloe and Susan got a glimpse of Jan's unhappy home life when her mother arrived at the airport and literally dragged her home. Belle and others were confused and suspicious over Shawn's concern and attentiveness to Jan. Hope prevented Bo and Colin from a fight about his days in Ireland and the DiMera vendetta. Jennifer fretted over Jack's potential marriage to Greta. Greta confided in Colin not knowing his connection to Jennifer or the Brady's. Alice was overjoyed when Shawn and Belle returned her precious ruby; a special gift from Tom. Philip flipped when he found Brady in Chloe's bedroom.

As Scott and Laura tried to patch things up, Luke showed up and interrupted them. A groggy Luke couldn't draw an accurate map to Helena's lab. Jax gave a vial of antidote to Tony. Helena told Nikolas that she wanted to "revive" Stavros. A.J. signed over his paternal rights and found comfort from Skye. Carly was furious when Sonny asked to adopt Michael but refused to call off their divorce. Bobbie urged her daughter to sign the divorce papers. Skye warned that she would expose Edward's whereabouts on the night that Sorel had been killed. Felicia plotted to expose Sorel's murderer. Mac gathered the suspects in Sorel's murder together -- and he received multiple confessions.

Rick was thrilled to be a daddy, but Phillip just couldn't bear to stay around for the festivities. Harley and Rick named their baby Jude. Gus reminded Harley of their feelings for each with a passionate kiss. A confused Harley quickly asked Rick to marry her, and a very confused Rick was just as surprised at her proposal. Mel reluctantly backed away from Rick to give him a chance at a life with Harley and Jude. Holly was out to get the goods on Tory. Lorelei fooled everyone, including Lillian and the kids, with her impersonation of Beth. Lorelei/Beth decided to live at the mansion and asked Phillip for control over her accounts. Olivia tried to smooth things over with Sam, who wanted no part of her, and Tony hoped Sam would leave town before more drastic steps were taken. Felecia tried to help Reva sort out her past life in New Orleans that Reva was certain was very important to her future. Reva started to piece together that Alan's relationship with Olivia was indeed a betrayal of Josh. Catalina got advice on her love life from Maria, and Gus couldn't understand why Carmen was out to ruin her own flesh and blood.

Blair refused to believe her baby died after hearing him cry. Todd convinced Blair that her grief was causing her to hallucinate. Troy broke the news about Mathew's condition to Sam and Nora. Hank met with Keri again to discuss her paternity. Viki dismissed Natalie's DNA test as a forgery and promptly tore it up. A second test conducted by Larry proved Allison's claims.

Tabitha and Timmy celebrated when Kay gave up trying to be good and refocused on winning Miguel. Ethan decided to start a law practice. Theresa offered to be his secretary and suggested he use the living room as his office. A distraught Pilar erupted, destroying Theresa's wedding gown. Still unable to remember who she was, Sheridan read a newspaper article about Sheridan Crane's "death" and wondered if she could be her. Luis had a fitful night of sleep as he dreamed of Sheridan returning to him. In the dream, she gave him a rose and told him of her love for him. Luis returned to work only to be swamped and was ecstatic to find a rose. Certain that was sent by Sheridan, he declared her as alive and began his crusade to find her.

Nikki surprised Victor with a romantic Brazilian-themed evening. Victor appeared to be gaining Tricia's trust. Ryan gave Victoria an engagement ring, and they set a wedding date. Nick told Sharon that Matt claimed he had raped her, but they were advised to wait until the baby was born to have a paternity test. Olivia and Neil made love. Brad confronted Ashley after Jack told him that she had been confiding in Victor. Michael told Lauren that he knew Isabella. Isabella became infuriated after witnessing Lauren and Paul having dinner. Nikita 3x02 Promo and Dillon Casey Interview for Season 3

The wait for Nikita Season 3 comes to an end tonight. Questions will be answered. And battles will be fought.

Since May, fans have been not-so-patiently standing by to find out whether Nikita, Ryan and the gang can really turn Division around or not. And, more importantly, whether Sean and Alex ever get their date!

I spoke with Dillon Casey (Sean) to get the scoop on Nikita's third season and it looks like we are in for another action-packed ride. He teased that something "huge ... happens right off the bat between Michael and Nikita."

But who cares about Michael and Nikita; it's Sean and Alex that we all want to know about, right?

----------------------------------------

What's going on with Sean and Alex? Do they ever get their date?
There's not really much time for dating on a show like Nikita. So probably your classic idea of a date isn't going to happen. I guess it might down the road. If Sean and Alex are going out to get dinner and drinks then there's also going to be some guns involved, some danger involved. It's not going to be your classic [date] ... like they're not going to go to a movie and get some frozen yogurt unless the frozen yogurt is poisoned and they're trying to kill a terrorist.

But there is still a lot of heat there between them, but I wouldn't say it's going very smoothly though... It's hard to say if they are a couple, if they are an item yet. It's tough to have a regular life for either of these people. One's a Navy SEAL, the other is an agent... They have have gotten a lot closer, but things have gotten a lot more intense. It's hard to say.

How does Sean feel about the new Division?
Sean is a Navy SEAL. He was brought to Division to clean it up. His ultimate goal was to take it down, to close it down. He doesn't think that a place like this should exist even if it's meant for good. He has that outside perspective to know that a place with this much power, although it's meant for good, is going to lose control of itself just by the nature of it. I don't think he is for it going over to the government.

If it was up to him he'd just shut it down and say we don't need this. He's always been an outsider and he's going to remain that way. He's not part of this big happy family that Division wants to be. The only thing really keeping him there is Alex. Of course, he'll stand by as long as he can to try and keep her safe. She's ultimately her own person and he's got to get on with his life as well. That's sorta were they stand.

Is there tension in the new Division?
Between Nikita and Ryan, there's definitely going to be some tension there. She was a rogue agent when she meet Ryan and now that Ryan's her boss, she's still a rogue agent. She's not used to answering orders and answering to people. And, even though Ryan means well and wants to do the right thing, it doesn't mean he has control over her. Nobody can really control her.
When it comes to Sean, there's two sides of the coin for Alex -- her loyalty to Nikita and her love or her caring for Sean. She's being pulled in two directions: Should I go on with my live and get out because I've basically achieved my goal? Or, do I owe something to Nikita? That definitely leads to a lot of tension going on between those three for sure.

Sean is still dealing with his mother's death
Nikita is the reason that Sean's mom died. Division was the reason Sean's mom died. He doesn't trust this place. I think that being a soldier he knows that these things happen. ... It's not that he doesn't trust Nikita, it's just that he thinks she's dangerous to be near. He thinks there's better ways to do things. He thinks that her way is not the best way.

How does Sean fit into the new Division?
He's not the type to complain. He does want to help, he does want to do the right thing. Basically, he's there just because of his loyalty to Alex. He really cares for this woman, so he doesn't want to just disappear. He can help. He's a very powerful tool for Division to use but at the same time he doesn't work for Division. He's sort of like a freelance agent, so when he's there [he'll]  chip in on the mission. But, he can leave at any time.

He starts seeing the recklessness of the way Division works and the amount of danger that these people get into for missions that aren't necessarily in the interest of national security. It's hard to draw the line between: Are we doing the right thing? Or, are we trying to help Nikita's own personal vendettas and personal missions?
At first, he thinks they are doing the right thing, but then he starts to have an open perspective seeing Alex getting into these really really dangerous situations. That's when he says I think it's time for me to check out. There's not really anything keeping me here.

He wants to save Alex, but I'm not sure that Alex wants to be saved.

Any deaths on the way?
Anyone could be killed, including Nikita.

Dylan O'Brien's Flawless 'First' Project

If you've never seen MTV's better-than-it-has-any-right-to-be Teen Wolf, chances are you've never heard of Dylan O'Brien. The 21-year-old New York native plays Stiles, best friend to the hairy high schooler, Scott. But like many small screen B.F.F.'s before him (Willow Rosenberg, Wallace Fennel, Caroline Forbes), Dylan has made Stiles so much more than a source of exposition.

In fact, Stiles has cemented himself (at least to this fan) as the heart of Teen Wolf and that's a direct result of Dylan's fantastically frenetic and effortlessly effervescent performance. Now, Dylan is applying those small screen skills to a larger canvas with the theatrical release of The First Time.

Told over the course of a single weekend, The First Time opens with our two leads (Dylan's Dave and Britt Robertson's Aubrey) meeting by chance and spending the next 48 hours talking their way into one another's hearts. Thanks to Dylan and Britt's electric chemistry, a hypnotic soundtrack and a locked diary-quality to the dialogue, it doesn't take too long for the film to work its way into your heart as well. I recently sat down with Dylan to talk about this phenomenal film, why music informs his performance so much and what it's like to become one half of an unexpectedly beloved TV "couple!"

TheInsider.com: What was your first impression of this script?
Dylan O'Brien: I just really loved what I got to do as this guy and I loved the dialogue. I almost wanted more of it. I just naturally get the words that Jon [Kasdan, writer/director] writes. I understand the way he speaks and what he's trying to get across, so I could recite the entire movie by the time we started shooting because we did so much rehearsing.

Insider.com: Did that allow for improv?
Dylan: I wouldn't tag it as improv because there was no need to go away from the script here, but it was free-range speaking in the sense that I had all the lines down, but I never once worried about specific wording with a sentence. I knew what Jon wanted me to say, but he let me say the words how I thought I should say them. That's a good way of going about it I think.

Insider.com: What was the rehearsal process like?
Dylan: A few weeks before shooting start, Jon got me and Britt together, and we spent two weeks, just the three of us, running scenes, changing things, talking about everything – not even necessarily about the script. Sometimes it was just about getting to know one another. By the time we got to shooting, Britt and I were so comfortable with one another that it was really easy to keep riffing off that established relationship. It was so comfortable and made us more confident without realizing it. That's something Jon does amazingly; he instills this quiet confidence in you that makes you feel like no choice is wrong, which lets you feel free.

Insider.com: While the characters are different, Dave and Stiles feel like they could almost be brothers. Is that unique energy something you thought both characters would have or just part of you?
Dylan: I think maybe a bit of both. The energy I give to Stiles and the energy I give to Dave is all intentional. I think maybe it's because I have an energy inside myself that I don't necessarily project in real life because I do it with my characters. It's just something I think I can add to characters, but also, I wouldn't have done it if it didn't suit the character.

Insider.com: The movie raises the age old question of whether making mix CDs for a crush is allowed. What's your opinion?
Dylan: I'm definitely not opposed. There's no problem with making mixes for a girl. I'm somebody who is as inspired by music as much as the next person. I've always played and loved all kinds of music. Sharing something like a mix tape is really sweet. It's a little piece of your heart at that moment. It's like saying, "Here's what I've been feeling recently." Mixes are what you're all about in that moment.

Insider.com: Do you use music to get into a character?
Dylan: Oh, yeah. I became obsessed with sappy love music [laughs] on this film. Literally, I became obsessed with this reggae love band, The Green. Their music was just so beautiful to me. I was obsessed with a few of their songs, which were sappy love songs. Simple, island-y love songs. I remember bumping some reggae love to and from work every day. I got into some funny stuff while making this movie.

Insider.com: Do you have a soundtrack for Stiles?
Dylan: No, not at all. I couldn't even pick one genre of music that I think Stiles would listen to. I think, as a character, Stiles doesn't care about music in a weird way [laughs].

Insider.com: There's been much ado, from the fans, about Stiles and Derek's relationship on the show. Did the Sterek love surprise you?
Dylan: No. What surprises me sometimes is how seriously people take it. I mean, people have threatened Jeff's life [laughs], which is slightly insane. But they're reacting to Comedy 101 – you pair up the least likely characters and that's always funny. Plus, I think me and [Tyler] Hoechlin have a good grasp on it too. That dynamic is something that's always worked with our show and I love that the audience is reacting positively to that.

Insider.com: Jeff Davis recently said that he is not opposed to Stiles exploring life as a bisexual at some point. We've already seen that he's incredibly open-minded about sexuality, which makes him a very progressive character, but Teen Wolf doesn't make a big to-do about it. Do you think that's why his attitude resonates so deeply with fans?
Dylan: That's what I love about playing him. I loved being able to go into that one scene and be like, "Do gay guys find me attractive" in a totally serious way. It would have been stupid if he was kidding, and that's almost the key to playing him. He's got no filter, so it's all about finding those human subtleties that a lot of people are afraid to admit sometimes. To have him just be a human being has been my absolute main focus with him all along.

Insider.com: But the downside of being totally human is that Teen Wolf is a supernatural show and, in some ways, that makes him the most killable.
Dylan: Yeah, totally. Although you never think about getting killed off ... until you do. And then you can't stop thinking that could happen. I mean, there's no reason that it couldn't. Let's be honest, I don't know how he's made it out of some of these situations in the first place. But maybe that's part of the fantasy: this kid keeps making it out when he's completely unequipped to do so. I like to think it's because Stiles is such a good soul, it's almost like he's kept alive by the heavens.

The First Time opens October 19.

James Franco continues to be a dick, says he 'wasn't scared enough' to do 'The Master'

At an Austin Film Festival panel discussion on Friday afternoon, James Franco revealed how Paul Thomas Anderson courted him for the role of Freddie Quell, since brought to vivid life by Joaquin Phoenix, in The Master. The actor-director-hyphenate extraordinaire was in town to present Francophrenia, his experimental documentary about his time playing the smirking villain Franco on the ABC soap opera General Hospital.

Towards the end of the 75-minute conversation, an audience member asked Franco to discuss a specific movie role on his resume that had initially intimidated him. Franco couldn’t really think of one, which reminded him of a funny story.

“Well, I don’t know if this is a funny story but it’s a true story,” he said. “Paul Thomas Anderson was getting ready to make the Master and he called me and we met. And we talked and we ended up meeting for coffee. We didn’t talk about the Master but I met him to chat. And then he kept calling me and he wanted to talk and talk but I didn’t know what he wanted to talk about because we’d always just kind of bulls— on the phone. So then when he started talking about the role he said ‘Do you feel like you can do this?’ And I said ‘Yeah, totally. Look, I think you’re like the best American director. I feel confident. I know I can do this.’ And he said to me ‘But I want this to scare you. I want this role, going on this journey to scare you.’ And I was like ‘Scare?! I know I can do it.” Franco now had the laughing audience in the Stephen F. Austin Intercontinental ballroom in the palm of his hand. “And so, incredible movie, needless to say I didn’t get the part. I guess I wasn’t scared enough or something, or whatever reason I didn’t get it. And then when I saw Joaquin in that movie I realized ‘Oh, he wanted me to like lose my mind.’ And so I guess that’s just to say I usually don’t get scared of roles.

The conversation moved on, to an earnest young woman asking him how much of himself he pours into his roles. But Franco interrupted her halfway through. “You know, I’ll say one, I’ll say a role. The Oscars was challenging because the material they gave me was CRAP!”

She may not yet be divorced from Kris Humphries after their very brief marriage, but Kim Kardashian could be getting engaged for the third time, according to her reality show producer Ryan Seacrest. The American Idol host made the comments while discussing the story on his KIIS radio show that Kim is 'demanding an engagement ring' for her 32nd birthday on Sunday. He told his co-host Ellen K: 'I think we could definitely see an update on this story on Monday

Seacrest is an executive producer of Kim's reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians and according to Radar, is thought to be 'well placed' to know whether another wedding is in the pipeline.  Meanwhile, a source close to the couple has told Radar that Kayne, 35, has been deliberating over a ring for some time. 'It’s only a matter of time before Kanye pops the question,' the insider said. 'They are madly in love with one another and as far as Kanye is concerned he wants to spend the rest of his life with Kim. 'It’s just a case of making sure the ring is perfect because she’s his princess.'

Britney Vs. Sam Lutfi: Court Updates

The civil trial pitting Britney Spears' ex-manager Sam Lutfi against the singer's conservatorship and her parents opened ugly Thursday, with accusations of drug abuse and a desperate attempt to hide addiction leveled against Spears by Lutfi's lawyer.

Read from the very bottom(last screen cap) to top

src

Sam Lutfi was so heartless ... he would hide Britney Spears' precious pooch from her and watch her cry and then save the day by "finding it" ... so claims lawyers for Britney's family.

In their opening statements, lawyers for Lynne Spears and the conservatorship told the jury ... Sam tried to look like a savior to Britney and would stoop so low as to emotionally torture her.

Britney's side is painting Sam as a master manipulator who would prey on the singer's weaknesses to build himself up and at the same time create distance between Britney and her family.

src

Lawyers for the defense in the Britney Spears trial have just blamed Britney's breakup with Justin Timberlake for her downward spiral that ultimately got her 5150'd, TMZ has learned.

According to a lawyer for Lynne Spears and Britney -- who made opening statements for the defense just moments ago -- the breakup with Justin ended in pain and sent the singer in a downward spiral.

According to the lawyer, prior to the relationship with Justin, Britney was a "ray of light." But after the breakup ... she became "angered and depressed."

Interesting ... because based on JT's "Cry Me a River" video, we were under the impression that he dumped Britney's ass because she cheated on him.

Story developing ...

Britney Spears took a huge amount of amphetamines the night she was strapped to a stretcher and placed on a 5150 hold -- so claims Sam Lutfi's lawyer in the opening statements of his defamation case.

Lutfi's lawyer, Joseph Schleimer, told the jury, on January 28, 2008, Britney had an amphetamine script filled. Schleimer says she took 6 to 8 pills early in the day, and several more later and went off the rails.

Lutfi's lawyer also said he tried to get Britney to meet with a psychiatrist 2 days before she was 5150'd, but Brit refused.

And there's this ... during Britney's disastrous appearance on the MTV Awards in 2007, Lutfi felt she was such a mess she shouldn't do it, because she was overweight and didn't rehearse, but Britney wouldn't hear it.

src

Britney Spears was super-paranoid that her hair contained traces of the hardcore drugs she was using -- and that's why she SHAVED IT ALL OFF during her infamous 2007 meltdown ... at least according to Sam Lutfi.

Sam's lawyer, Joseph Schleimer, has been telling the court ... Britney was a serious drug-abuser ... who had a penchant for crystal meth.

Schleimer suggested Britney was concerned that a judge would test her hair for drugs -- and when it turned up positive, she would lose custody of her kids.

So, Britney ... being Britney ... believed that if she chopped off her hair, she could beat the drug test ... at least that's what Lutfi's lawyer is implying.

Britney's side has yet to respond.

The "Britney Spears" trial has officially begun, and right out the gate Sam Lutfi's lawyer told the jury ...  "She liked to use amphetamines.  Most everything that went wrong was because of this drug."

Sam's lawyer, Joseph Schleimer, admitted in opening statements ... Sam used Adderall (an amphetamine) for ADD, but he was adamant, Sam never gave her the drug.

And Schleimer claimed, Sam repeatedly told Britney she needed to get off drugs, to no avail.  Schleimer says Sam wanted to bring a new team in -- he called it "the varsity team" -- to help save her.

And Schleimer says in an attempt to clean Brit's house of drugs, he brought in a drug-sniffing dog and found a baggie of crystal meth.

Schleimer also said Britney's dad Jamie Spears attacked Sam while Sam was working for Britney, punching Sam and knocking the wind out of him.

As for Sam's managerial role with Britney -- Schleimer says Britney approached HIM to be her manager, offering 15% of her total earnings ... $800,000 a month when she wasn't on tour, and MILLIONS when she was.

Schleimer also gives Sam credit for hooking Britney up with her fiance Jason Trawick -- claiming he introduced the two at Jason's Halloween party in 2007.

Britney Spears' lawyers will come out of the gate swinging in Sam Lutfi's lawsuit against her and her family ... calling BS on his argument that the singer was on drugs and he was trying to save her.

Sources connected with the case tell us ... lawyers for the conservatorship will scoff at Lutfi from the get-go, noting that he is suing her because he claims she signed a contract making him her manager.

Their point -- how can someone deep into drugs be competent enough to sign any contract, and what's the point of signing a contract if she's too wasted to perform?

Lutfi claims Britney was on meth and other drugs and he worked 24/7 to rehab her, to no avail.  Lawyers for Britney and Lynne Spears will make the case that Sam was like a sleazy drug pusher and fame whore who fueled Britney with drugs to control her and isolate her from her friends and family.
src

meanwhile...

While lawyers, jurors and reporters hear all about the meltdown of Britney Spears and who's responsible for her drug-fueled downward spiral, Britney was enjoying a frothy drink at Starbucks in Encino.

Check out her boots ... and her bangs.

Britney will not have to take the oath, because the judge in the defamation case has ruled she does not have to testify since she's currently under a conservatorship.

She may not be present in court, but Sam Lutfi is hell-bent on putting her life on trial.

PostSecret founder looking for backers to finance multimedia traveling play

One of the things that sustained Tamar Bains for two years in Iraq when she worked as an operating room technician in a trauma hospital was checking the PostSecret blog on Sunday mornings.

“The 20 minutes it would take me to read, I could leave my head,” says Bains about the temporary escape offered by the artfully decorated postcards with their sometimes funny, sometimes touching, and sometimes dark secrets.

“I could get back to the routine I had in the real world, and it was something to look forward to,” says Bains, who now lives in Silver Spring and works at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.

Bains was one of hundreds of PostSecret followers who filled the Round House Theatre in Bethesda on Oct. 5 to see a multimedia PostSecret play — a work still in progress — about the blog started by Frank Warren in 2005 from his house in Germantown.

“Seeing it like this is really amazing,” says Bains about the production, a mix of animation, art, music, Warren’s recorded voice and live actors with input from audiences.

“It’s keeping it alive. It’s not going away. It’s not a fad,” says Bains about the worldwide community of online supporters who now also follow PostSecret on Facebook and Twitter.

For the last two years, Warren has been working with a team of three based in Vancouver, British Columbia, who have formed Brand To Stage Productions to help him develop the stage play.

Included are actor and writer Kahlil Ashanti, who performed in Bethesda and whose father lives in Upper Marlboro and works for Prince George’s Community College, along with writer TJ Dawe and talent manager Justin Sudds.

Also involved in the Bethesda production were actresses Emma Crane Jaster and Susan Lynskey, composer Mario Vaira and animator Jeremy Stewart.

The Round House audience included potential financial backers, and the team hopes they will provide the capital for a North American tour of the finished play starting in late 2013.

“We’re reaching out to investors so that the play is fully funded so it can have the life we hope for it,” says Warren, who envisions the production being performed in theaters, college campuses and community centers.

“I hope this will extend the reach of PostSecret ... and create new conversations,” says Warren about the solace the blog and its community of followers have provided for people in emotional pain, including those feeling isolated and considering suicide.

Warren says he’s been approached by others but decided to work with the Vancouver team because he is confident they respect the people who send in the cards and will protect the integrity of the play.

“We’re not big Broadway producers ... and we’re coming at it with a blank slate,” says Sudds, whose wife introduced him to the PostSecret blog.

“It was a life-changing experience for me,” says Sudds about reading cards in person during a weekend visit to Warren’s house. “There’s no way you can physically sit and hold people’s postcards and not be affected by them.”

An initial version of the play was presented to an audience as a reading at the Round House Theatre in Silver Spring, followed by two workshops in Vancouver before the show in Bethesda.

Still to go are workshop performances before audiences in Saginaw, Mich., on Oct. 18 and in Cincinnati on Oct. 22 before two weeks of rehearsals and completion of the final script, says Sudds.

At the Bethesda show, Warren asked audience members to anonymously submit secrets, some of which were read during the second act. He and the team also invited the audience to discuss after the show what they liked and didn’t like.

One thing audience members enjoyed was the first-time use of a big screen over the stage running live tweets from audience members before the show started.

“I feel like everything is going to change tonight. I’m so nervous and excited,” tweeted one person.

“I was vehemently opposed to Twitter for years until this event. Signed up just to post. What a fun idea!” tweeted another.

Fans seemed especially moved by recordings in the play of phone messages from relatives of PostSecret followers who had died. One was a birthday song from a woman to her grandchild, who saved the message and sends it to other family members on their birthdays.

“They’re living on people’s cell phones,” Warren says.

Jaster took on the role of a college student who started to read a PostSecret book in the hospital after an attempted suicide because of an eating disorder, recounting that the student ripped out and saved pages from the book about others suffering the disorder.

“It became my quiet army that understood where I am and how I got there,” says Jaster as the young woman, who says she started eating, made a decision to live and went back to college.

Also in the show is a story about a mother who bought a PostSecret book and was talking to her daughter about it when the daughter revealed her own secret — that her father, the woman’s husband, had been molesting her, prompting the woman to bring felony charges.

There are also cards about rape, suicide and betrayals, along with Warren’s own account of being bullied in fourth grade. A popular classmate persuaded several boys to pin Warren down, hold open his eyelids and take turns spitting into his eyes.

But there are also happy accounts, including one about a young man who proposed to his beloved at a PostSecret exhibit at the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore.

There are also interjections of humor when things gets heavy, including the words, “Everybody knows that God sounds like Liam Neeson” on top of the actor’s photo glued to a postcard.

“Everybody knows that God sounds like Morgan Freeman,” Jaster quickly countered on stage, bringing a laugh from the audience.

“The PostSecret fan base is typically a lot younger than average,” says Sudds who sees the multimedia play as something that can draw young people to live theater.

“I love the fact that it can bring a new generation to some of the playhouses around the country in a new and unique way that’s powerful,” he says.

Sudds also does not rule out a Broadway run “if we can keep the integrity and build the word of mouth around the country.”

He also sees potential with productions overseas.

“I’d like to produce in Australia and translate the show for Asia or Eastern Europe, wherever there’s an audience,” Sudds says. “The postcards come in every language, including Braille.”

Since Warren started the blog, he has published five books about the cards and is currently working on a sixth that will appear in 2013 in hardcover and ebook versions.

Warren also personally visits college campuses, posts new cards every Sunday on the blog and maintains a Facebook page and Twitter feed that reaches millions of people, he says.

“The biggest surprise was finding out how much of a strong community it has,” says Sudds about the feedback from audiences. “People help each other, defend each other, and without knowing each other.”

“I just try to facilitate the conversation,” Warren says. “It’s the [PostSecret] community that drives it.”
