The Killers have officially kicked off the "Wonderful, Wonderful" and fifth era. Yes that's right, that's the name of the fifth studio album by the band. The new album is mostly produced by Jacknife Lee and one song by Stuart Price. Collaborators include Mark Knopfler, Alex Cameron, and Brian Eno. New songs on the album so far mentioned are: "Wonderful, Wonderful" (title track), "The Man", "Have All The Songs Been Written?", "Run For Cover" and "Some Kind of Love." The disco lead single, "The Man" dropped earlier today as well as a Q&A with Brandon Flowers. Over the weekend the band also performed/debuted another song off the new album that dates back as far as the "Day & Age" sessions called "Run For Cover." All these things can be checked out below and behind the cut! I can't stop crying, we did it kids!

Gene Simmons of KISS has filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office, seeking trademark ownership of the devil horns hand gesture. According to Simmons, this hand gesture was first used in commerce Nov. 14, 1974, during KISS's Hotter Than Hell tour. “The mark consists of a hand gesture with the index and small fingers extended upward and the thumb extended perpendicular,” he states in his application. Simmons is claiming the hand gesture mark for "entertainment, namely, live performances by a musical artist; personal appearances by a musical artist."

If only he googled this shit, he would have known that this gesture has a very long history. It is also used in American Sign Language to represent "I love you."

Steven Spielberg accused of never making a film with a female lead + The Color Purple was a flop!

$

Elizabeth Banks had this to say about Spielberg's lack of female leads.

“I went to ‘Indiana Jones’ and ‘Jaws’ and every movie Steven Spielberg ever made, and by the way, he’s never made a movie with a female lead. Sorry, Steven. I don’t mean to call your ass out but it’s true,”
She also ignored someone pointing out "The Color Purple".

Editor for Indiewire.com, Anne Thompson, also backed up Elizabeth's statement. But when corrected that Spielberg directed "The Color Purple" too, she proceeded to call it a flop and pointed out it didn't win an Oscar.

Twitter has gone in on both women and Anne seems to have deleted her tweets. Twitter users have continued to accuse both women of racism for overlooking "The Color Purple".
