Hollywood fails LGBT people

  • GLAAD's annual film report finds that LGBT people are nearly invisible or outdated punchlines in big Hollywood movies;

  • Only 23 out of 125 films tracked from 2016 contain LGBTQ characters, that's 18.4%;

  • Gay men were the most represented, with 83% of LGBT-inclusive films. Lesbians come in second, 35%;

  • Only one transgender character, the same number as the 2015 report. And the character was used a punchline in 'Zoolander 2';

  • The report notes that Harley Quinn's bi identity was completely erased in 'Suicide Squad';

  • 20% of LGBTQ characters were people of color;

  • Universal Pictures got the best grade: 'insufficient';

  • TV shows are still ahead in including LGBTQ characters and stories. Water is wet, sky is blue, etc.

Patty Jenkins was featured on "CBS This Morning: Saturday". She talks about how nobody had tackled Wonder Woman the movie and the direction she went with in regards to the movie. Patty really wants to break barriers.




Gal Gadot appears on Conan. She takes Conan O'Brien through a gauntlet of how she got fit for her role of being Wonder Woman. We meet Gal's trainer.



Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, and Patty Jenkins appear on AOL's BUILD Series to talk about Wonder Woman. They talk about the training for the movie and the filming schedule. Lots of topics hit with this interview. 30 minutes of them talking that is not a presser!



For those Wonder Woman comic readers, #23 came out this week which saw the conclusion of "The Truth" arc in the Rebirth series. Wonder Woman Annual #1 will be out on May 31. Wonder Woman: Steve Trevor #1 comes out on June 7.

Harry Styles Phones Fan Injured In Manchester Attack

- The fan, Freya Lewis, was at the concert with her friend Nell Jones, who sadly was one of the 22 victims
- She was saved by a couple who gave her CPR until the ambulances arrived, and went through numerous surgeries
- The campaign for a Harry Styles phone call was started by her older sister Georgia
- Harry phoned the girl when she woke from surgery, and spoke to her and her dad

Angelina Jolie and kids enjoy Disneyland the day prior to Shiloh's 11th birthday

Last Friday, the "Maleficent" star was spotted at Disneyland along her children and friends. Her daughter Shiloh turned 11 on Saturday 27th.




Not only did the group have a turn on almost every ride inside the park, they also managed to squeeze in a trip to the Downtown Disney mall afterwards. The kids made a beeline for Big Thunder Railroad and, following the youngsters’ lead, the actress threw her arms up in the air and laughed as the coaster made a sharp descent and turn. Shiloh opted to ride in another car with a male pal, who both screamed and laughed from the rear of the coaster.

The family and their friends then headed to Fantasy Land to enjoy a few of the more docile rides which included of course, a whirl in a teacup.

Reportedly the Cambodian children joining the family included some of the child actors from the star’s yet-to-stream Netflix film, "First They killed My Father". Disney also provided a VIP guide so that got to see the best parts of the park.

On Graham Norton, Liam was shown a video of when he first met Cheryl. It's from 2008 when Liam auditioned on X Factor when he was 14 and Cheryl who was 24 then was a judge. Liam says he got a ribbon at school for winking at Cheryl and his friends were teasing him and giving him snickers bars. He says at his 23rd birthday party when he was with Cheryl, his friends were more quiet than he's ever seen them.

Shadow and Laura Moon themselves, join Marc Snetiker and Orlando Jones to discuss Episode 4, "Git Gone".

- Emily revealed that the script for this episode was the one she had read first, joining the series. "I've never read a character like this, who is completely unapologetic, and crass, and really complicated, and y'know, not instantly likeable. And I love the fact that there was no pressure to be likable."
- Praised and discussed Betty Gilpin's performance as Audrey
- "...Audrey's, y'know, the kinda girl that's like, has an appletini, and like, a vocal fry. She's essentially a basic bitch, but she's made this basic bitch into a real human that you want to get to know."
- Emily discusses how Laura didn't believe in anything in life, and how only after death did she realize something to believe in : Shadow himself
- Discussed the difference between Shadow and Laura's approach to their respective "death sentences" hanging over their heads. Emily :"I think once she dies, and is still there, there's nothing to be afraid of anymore."
- "With Shadow, as we see him in the moment, he has nothing to live for anyway. He doesn't care, he lost Laura, that was his one thing.""...So he has nothing left, that's why he's so quick to offer himself up for Czernobog."
- Tonight's episode where their characters sit down and discuss things was the first scene that Ricky and Emily shot together, and also the last scene they shot together. They took many different takes and approaches to this scene that Ricky says is one of his favorite moments in the series.

Jason David Frank a.k.a. the Green Ranger speaks out about alleged assassination attempt

  • This past Thursday at Phoenix Comicon, Phoenix police arrested suspect Mathew Sterling (31), who had come to the con with weapons (including a knife and three guns).

  • Sterling was later booked for "one count of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, wearing body armor during the commission of a felony, resisting arrest and carrying a weapon in a prohibited place."

  • The suspect was allegedly targeting Jason David Frank, who is best known for playing Tommy Oliver (the Green Ranger, etc.) in the Power Rangers franchise. On his smartphone calendar, Sterling made a note stating "Kill JDF."

  • At his court appearance, Sterling said he was "going to have a showdown and kill God knows how many more cops."

  • Frank was unharmed. He told the local Phoenix news: "I’m very grateful to the Phoenix police department for their brave and outstanding efforts, which avoided a terrible tragedy, as recently seen at the concert in Manchester."
