Amanda Bynes has had a rough time of lately, and her blonde extensions were starting to reflect that.

The 27-year-old shaved her head, which was apparently in response to hair damage, then she got outrageous hair extensions to cover it up.

These had matted into dreadlocks by the time she stepped out New York on Tuesday morning but during a trip to a salon a miraculous transformation occurred.

And before the salon ...

Maggie Thatcher funeral post

0
0

The funeral of Britain's most influential and controversial post-war prime minister, Margaret Thatcher, will take place on Wednesday at St Paul's Cathedral in a ceremonial service with full military honours.

More than 2,300 guests from across the world are expected to attend to pay their respects to the country's first and only female leader, who died from a stroke on 8 April aged 87.

The capital will come to a standstill as military personnel and members of the public line the streets to watch as Lady Thatcher's coffin – draped in a union flag – travels along the procession route to the cathedral.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will attend the service along with the prime minister, David Cameron, and former leaders Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.

It will be the first time Her Majesty will have attended a funeral of a British prime minister since that of Winston Churchill in 1965.

Thatcher's funeral has been marred with controversy following the decision to grant the former prime minister a ceremonial service – one step down from a state funeral – at an estimated cost of £10m to the taxpayer.

MPs and other public figures have criticised the move, claiming that Thatcher divided the nation and should not be awarded such a prestigious ceremony.

More than 4,000 officers will be on duty during the ceremony amid fears it could be disrupted by protesters after several celebration parties were held across the country to mark her death.

Police have also tightened security along the procession in the wake of the bombings during the Boston Marathon on Monday, which have been linked to a terrorist attack.

On Tuesday, Thatcher's coffin was moved to the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft in the Palace of Westminster where a private service was attended by close friends and family, including her children Carol and Mark and former members of her government.
The work and pensions secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, described it as a "short but moving" ceremony, adding: "It's different from tomorrow, because this event was personal.

Lots of people were there for personal reasons - each of us summing up what you owe her."

At 10am, the coffin will travel by hearse from Westminster to the Church of St Clement Danes, the RAF Chapel, on the Strand.

With flags across the capital flying at half mast, it will then be transferred to a gun carriage drawn by six horses from the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery as it starts on its procession.

About 700 military personnel from all three services will line the route while processional minute guns are fired from the Tower Wharf at the Tower for the duration of its journey.

The service at St Paul's Cathedral is expected to be a humble affair and has been six years in the planning, with Thatcher playing a significant role in its delivery. Speaking yesterday, Very Rev Dr David Ison, who will give the bidding at the ceremony, said: "Mrs Thatcher wanted something that was very simple and it is not at all triumphalist.

"At its heart it's a funeral like any other funeral, bearing in mind people have to remember that it's not a celebration of somebody's life, it's not a memorial service.

"It's an occasion to do the last thing that we can for a human being, which is to commend somebody to God."

More than 2,300 guests have confirmed their attendance, including 32 current cabinet-level ministers and about 30 from Thatcher's government between 1979 and 1990.

There will also be more than 50 guests associated with the Falkland Islands, including veterans, to mark the significant chapter the war played during Thatcher's leadership.

But Argentina's ambassador to London, Alicia Castro, has declined an invitation to attend the funeral, in what was being seen as a mark of continuing sensitivity over the islands.

The US government's official presidential delegation will be led by George Shultz and James Baker, who both served as secretaries of state during the Thatcher era.

Altogether, around 170 countries will be represented by dignitaries such as members of royal families, politicians, and senior diplomats.

Thatcher's coffin is expected to arrive at St Paul's at 11am when the funeral service will begin and is due to last just under an hour.

At Thatcher's request prior to her death, Britain's serving prime minister will deliver a reading at her funeral. Cameron will recite a lesson from the King James Bible.

The service is a traditional affair and includes a selection of well-known hymns, including Charles Wesley's Love Divine, All Loves Excelling, as well as poems by Wordsworth and TS Eliot.

After the service, the coffin will travel by hearse to the Royal Hospital Chelsea and a private cremation at Mortlake crematorium will take place in the evening.

Tom Hiddleston to play Robert Capa

615x330_hiddleston capa

Keen not to get typecast after becoming Hollywood's favourite new villain in The Avengers, Tom Hiddleston has exclusively revealed to us that his next role will be firmly on the 'good' side of the spectrum.

He'll be playing famed war photographer Robert Capa in a new biopic entitled Capa for director Paul Andrew Williams, best known for London to Brighton and, more recently, Song For Marion.

"I look at [Capa’s] life and see it in heroic terms," Hiddleston explains. "A Hungarian kicked out of Hungary for writing against Fascism, he moved to Germany where he was kicked out for being Jewish, then he moved to France and from there began a life-long commitment to make a stand against forces of fascism."

Hiddleston also revealed that he plans some thorough research before he starts the project.

"As a man he was fantastically charismatic, dynamic, vigorous, exciting and energetic, too," he enthuses. "I plan to go to the places he lived, those places he visited, read books about him, study his photographs and, crucially, learn how he took them.”

The film is also set to star Gemma Arterton who was originally attached alongside Andrew Garfield, who has since dropped out. Predictably, it's not the only Capa film in the works with Michael Mann working on a project called Waiting For Robert Capa.

There's no word on when the film will start shooting.

Tom Hiddleston will next be seen in Thor: The Dark World.

Fox pulls "Family Guy" episode following Boston bombings

0

Fox television on Tuesday pulled a recent episode of animated series "Family Guy" from television and Internet sites after unrelated clips that were edited together to depict a bombing at the Boston Marathon went viral on the Web.

"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane slammed the mash-up as "abhorrent." It appeared a day after two bombs ripped through the crowd at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people and wounding 176.

A Fox spokeswoman said the network had pulled the "Turban Cowboy" episode of the satirical series "Family Guy" from Fox.com and Hulu.com and from being rebroadcast, and that network officials were working with YouTube to take down the edited clips. It was not known who posted them.

The edited video showed two separate clips fused together from the "Turban Cowboy" episode, which aired in March, in which lead character Peter Griffin drunkenly drives over runners in order to win the Boston Marathon.

Later in the episode, in an unconnected storyline, Peter unknowingly becomes friends with an extremist who gives him a cellphone, which Peter calls and explosions are heard.

In the video that went viral, the two scenes were put together to make it appear that the explosions happened at the Boston race.

"The edited Family Guy clip currently circulating is abhorrent. The event was a crime and a tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims," MacFarlane, who voices characters on the show including Peter, wrote on Twitter.

Television networks and movie studios frequently review material that might be considered sensitive or offensive after national tragedies like the Newton, Connecticut, school shootings in December and Superstorm Sandy in October 2012.

Billy Ray Cyrus talks about Miley in new book, "Hillbilly Heart"

On Miley's Birth

I was scheduled to take a break in the middle of December so I could be with Tish when she was due to give birth to our child..........But as soon as my plane touched down in Nashville, on November 23, I received a fax from Jack McFadden. It said, “Baby girl Cyrus born.” Shocked, I called Tish and instead got a hold of her mother, who told me that while I was in the air Tish’s doctor had decided to induce her. He’d feared some complications and, to be completely forthcoming, there were some. But the net result was that Tish and I had a baby girl......Tish was weak and our baby was in an incubator on 100 percent oxygen, but I’ll tell you, both of them were beautiful, and their spirits were strong, and after about eight days, both of them were able to go home with me to the log cabin, where we celebrated Thanksgiving.

On Miley Auditioning for Hannah

“Tish, Miley is Hannah Montana,” I said. “She’s reading for the wrong part.” “I don’t think Miley’s got the experience to carry it,” Tish said.“And Disney feels the same way.” “Hell, man, have they heard her sing?” I asked. “No, she hasn’t sung for them,” Tish said. “Oh my God. We have got to get her on tape,” I said. “Just let them hear her sing.” A song called “Goin’ to the Beach This Weekend” had been floating around as a demo, and Tish and I took Miley to a studio and put her on the track. We sent it to Disney, and their reaction was exactly as I expected. Holy crap! Let’s get her back out here.

On Miley and Nick Jonas

She and Nick Jonas connected instantly when the Jonas Brothers guest-starred on the show. I saw that chemistry happen right before my eyes. Again, it was art imitating life or life imitating art. Take your pick. But everyone saw they had a big crush on each other and that things just grew to where they were inseparable..... That night, Nick, Miley, and I sat by the fireplace and talked for a while. The Jonas Brothers weren’t really famous yet. They were just getting loaded up to take off. And so again, I knew this might be as close to a normal boyfriend relationship Miley would ever know.

On the Vanity Fair Shoot

Tish and Miley’s grandma Loretta and Miley’s publicist were at the shoot. At Annie’s request, I swung by to pose with Miley. I was on my way to play for the troops in Washington State, so I didn’t have a lot of time. I took a few pictures, hung out, and then caught my plane. After the shoot, a picture was released on the Internet. Suddenly, the world asked, “How could she? Where were her parents?” As I said, I was gone. From what I understand, the shot was the last setup of the day. Looking back, would I have stopped it if I’d been there? Honestly, I don’t know. I’d a have to have been there. But who knows, Annie might have wrapped my fat ass in a sheet.

On the Divorce

I met up with Tish and Miley in Detroit that I realized the ground was still littered with land mines, the emotional kind. I arrived there on my tour bus. .....as best as I can remember, I got there, took a look around, and realized everything I had ever thought about my marriage and what was going on in our lives— just the whole thing— was no longer the reality. Long before Tish and I met, I had vowed that my own kids, if I had any, would never see me argue the way my mom and dad did when I was little. I didn’t want to deal with that scenario, but I knew that’s where we were headed. There was too much bullshit in the air. I tried to ignore the lies and the façade that had been woven around me because the truth just hurt too damn much.........

Then the most astonishing thing happened. Both Miley and Braison came to me, separately I should say, and said, “Dad, we know what’s going on. We know you’ve tried everything except one thing. Now you’ve got to do it.” I could tell they came to me out of pure love, not anger or a wish to hurt their mom. They were trying to figure out answers, too. This time, though, I came up with an answer that gave me the strength my kids must have had when they approached me. It was what my dad had told me back when he and my mom were getting a divorce. Life ain’t fair. It was my darkest hour. I felt sick 24/7. I didn’t eat. The painkillers couldn’t ease the pain, and the sleeping pills couldn’t put me to sleep. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. I stalked the woods, built fires, and stared into space, thinking about what I could have done differently as a parent and a husband.

On the Bong Incident

Miley proclaimed her innocence. She said she had been smoking salvia, a legal herb in California. Publicly and privately, it upset everyone involved, from Miley to us, her parents. The folks at Disney were incensed. We had to do something. But I felt helpless. I chose to step out front, and go on offense. I took to Twitter, my first mistake. “Sorry, guys. I had no idea,” I tweeted. “Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. I’m so sad.”Then, just because I wanted to get my side out, I added, “There is much beyond my control right now.” I felt bad for Miley, but I felt even worse for all those kids who looked up to her and loved her so much. I knew their hearts were broken, as was mine. Everyone got hurt. Once again, it was a bloodbath of emotion.

On Miley and Liam's Engagement

Miley burst through the kitchen door, her legs and arms and hair flying in every direction just like it did when she was a little kid. “Daddy!” she screamed. “Dad!” A moment later, she wrapped her arms around me and stuck her finger in front of my face. I was staring at a diamond ring— a pretty sizable chunk of diamond, too.“I’m engaged!” she said. “Liam asked me to get married.” Liam followed her into the room, and Tish was not far behind. All of us hugged and smiled. I was even happier because they had recently come down from Miley’s house in the hills and moved into our old house, which Tish and I had recently vacated for a smaller, cozier place around the corner that had previously belonged to Miley.

Although we weren’t sure when young Mr. Hemsworth was going to pop the question, Tish and I both knew it was on the horizon. He had come to us and said, “I’m getting ready to ask Miley to marry me. What do you think?” At nineteen, Miley was young. But she had an old soul. She’d seen a lot and grown up fast. And she sure did seem happy around Liam. I’d had a good feeling about Liam from the first time I laid eyes on him— and that was before Miley saw him on the set of The Last Song. Tish was working with a casting company to find the male lead for the movie, and they were down to three or four contenders when I looked through a stack of pictures and pulled out Liam’s photo. “I could see that guy being her boyfriend,” I said. Tish looked up at me. “Wow, me too,” she said. “But he’s not one of the finalists, and I don’t want to cause a stir with these people.” “Hey, you’re a producer on this movie, right?” I said. “If you feel like that, voice your opinion.”

'Rachael Ray' Show Sued By Teen Christina Pagliarolo Claiming She Was Humiliated, Hurt On Air

The "Rachael Ray" show has allegedly been slapped with a lawsuit from an overweight teen who says her participation in a weight loss episode supposedly left her humiliated and hurt.

TMZ reported Tuesday that Christina Pagliarolo has sued the "Rachael Ray" show for negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress stemming back to an appearance she made on the CBS series when she was 18 years old.

Pagliarolo's goal was to lose 70 pounds by prom. On the episode, which aired two years ago, she discussed the difficulties she was having in high school because of constant bullying. At 260 pounds, the teen decided to enlist the help of Ray, who turned to a fitness trainer.

In her lawsuit against "Rachael Ray," Pagliarolo claims the trainer made her run and hike mountains, and yelled and screamed at her, according to TMZ. One time when she was on the StairMaster, the trainer kept upping the speed and then yelled at her when she fell. She claims these training sessions left her with leg injuries.

Despite the report, those at "Rachael Ray" claim they have not yet received any lawsuit.

"We haven't received this purported lawsuit but if it does materialize we will defend ourselves against it vigorously and fully expect to prevail," a spokesperson for the show told The Huffington Post.

However, this is not the first time the health and cooking show has faced legal woes.

In 2008, a former accountant for the "Rachael Ray" show sued for $1 million claiming he was forced out of his job because he had an eating disorder, the Associated Press previously reported. He claimed that after complaining about being mistreated by his supervisor he was fired.

Stevie Nicks says Reese Witherspoon is 'almost' too old to play her

Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks says she once thought Reese Witherspoon would be perfect to play her, but, at 37, the U.S. actress has aged out of the role.

Nicks, 64, talked about the casting for a possible future bio-picture in her new documentary, "In Your Dreams," which followed her as she made her 2011 album of the same name.

"I've already told [Reese] she's almost too old," Nicks told "ET Canada" at the documentary's Toronto premiere this week.

"I love her, but she's like, 'I could play your mother.' I'm like 'O.K,'" Nicks said of Witherspoon.

Witherspoon won an Oscar, Golden Globe and SAG Award for her portrayal of singer June Carter, Johnny Cash's wife, in the 2005 drama "Walk the Line."

NBC: 'Friends' reunion not in the works

0

Friends

It started as “The One with the Reunion” and turned quickly into “The One with a Whole New Season,” but sadly, rumors that fans of the hit sitcom Friends will be seeing the much-loved gang back on their old orange couch at Central Perk sometime soon are decidedly untrue.

NBC has confirmed to EW that a Friends reunion is not in the works.

The buzz started months ago after rumors of a Thanksgiving 2014 reunion special began to make the social media rounds but really heated up late last week when after a major Latin America news outlet reported that NBC had confirmed a new full-season order of the show. Fans, who have been clamoring for a reunion ever since the sitcom ended its 10-season run on NBC in 2004, have been running with the rumors on both Facebook and Twitter ever since.

The network’s confirmation that a Friends reunion is not being planned comes just a day after show co-creator Marta Kauffman said the same to E! “I’m going to clear this up — it’s not happening,” Kauffman said on the red carpet of the Lifetime TV movie Call Me Crazy. Friends was about that time in your life when your friends are your family and once you have a family, there’s no need anymore.”

MSN/Xbox to revive Heroes

Save the cheerleader, launch a new programming initiative?

MSN, which is making a big push into original programming via Xbox, is in talks to revive NBC’s superhero drama Heroes, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Details remain sketchy, but sources confirm that MSN is interested in relaunching the once red-hot NBC Universal franchise with new stories and heroes, while mixing in cameos from the original series’ cast (schedules and interest permitting). The talks are said to be in the preliminary stages.

In February, MSN hired former NBC development executive Jada Miranda to oversee production of its fledgling Xbox entertainment studio under ex-CBS president Nancy Tellem (who came on board last fall).

Heroes‘ four-season run on NBC ended in February 2010.
