Gwyneth Paltrow: ‘I Won’t Do Botox Again … I Looked Like Joan Rivers!’

$

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s life is all about balance these days. She’s balancing her movie career with her business ventures. Being a mom with finding time for herself.

And, she confesses in the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar, “finding the balance between cigarettes and tofu.”

The healthy-living queen, who admits in her revealing interview that she treats herself to one cigarette a week, also owns up to mixing high-tech skincare with organic products.

But when it comes to more than just laser treatments, she’s still hesitant. “I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy. I looked like Joan Rivers!”

Paltrow also says she’d love to move from the artsier films she’s known for to an “outrageous girl comedy” — not least of all, we assume, because she doesn’t have to get in the superhero shape necessary for her skin-baring scenes in Iron Man 3.

Not that it’s such a challenge, though: “There are certain requirements, but luckily I have a good base because I work out often,” she says. “I just had to not eat pasta and french fries the night before shooting– which I’m terrible at doing.”

On her future after turning 40:“I’m at quite a pivotal point: Do I want to go back more into films? Do I want another child? Do I want to move back to the States? You can call me a lot of things, but you can’t call me complacent!”

On what she’s learned in life:“I don’t hold on to fear as much as I used to, because I’ve learned a lot about genuinely not caring what strangers think about me. It’s very liberating. It’s very empowering, and I’ve learned a lot of that from Jay-—Shawn Carter—Z, because his approach to life is very internal. It’s a very good lesson to learn.”

On her husband Chris Martin:“We are growing into very similar people. It’s cool, it’s good. It’s not always easy, though!”

Tbh, this is the first thing I've read in weeks that actually has me stoked for the finale, if not the 50th. What say you, ONTD? Any thoughts or theories?

VDEOS BEEN REMOVED LISTEN TO IT HERE

"Gentleman," the meticulously-planned follow-up single to PSY's global smash "Gangnam Style," has leaked to the Internet a day ahead of schedule.

The 35-year-old finished shooting the music video for “Gentleman” on Tuesday. It was shot in various locations around Seoul, much like “Gangnam Style,” which famously became the most watched video ever on YouTube and the first to garner over one billion views. Earlier, PSY was quoted by YG Entertainment as saying the new dance will "be largely in a Korean style."

"Gentleman" will be officially released in 119 countries around the world tomorrow. The YouTube sensation had originally planned on unveiling "Gentleman" in Korea on Friday and then the rest of the world the following day. But he reset the time to midnight Thursday (GMT +9 hours) on iTunes and local music websites to lessen confusion for fans and onlookers, said YG Entertainment.

He will hold a concert dubbed “Happening” at a sports stadium in western Seoul on Saturday before going on an international tour to promote the new track.

HOV Buying Private Island

Jay-Z reportedly has a budget of $3 million to buy a private island for his wife Beyoncé Knowles and their baby girl, Blue Ivy.
The 31-year-old rapper is looking for a secluded spot he can call home with wife Beyoncé Knowles and their one-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
According to UK newspaper The Sun, he plans to splash out $3 million on his own piece of land in the North Abaco district of The Bahamas. Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson, who famously owns Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, is said to be his inspiration.
“Jay’s been looking for a private island for the family. He’s getting it partly to mark their fifth wedding anniversary but also, with Bey back in the spotlight, it’s getting impossible for them to do normal things such as go to the beach with Blue,” a source said. “A private island means they’ll be able to have quality time with minimum staff and security.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z married in April 2008 and since then their stars have risen to meteoric heights. Jay is preparing for a summer tour with Justin Timberlake in North America while his superstar wife is launching her own world tour later this year.
The couple were mobbed on a trip to Cuba just last week as they celebrated their fifth anniversary in Havana.

American TV channel Syfy has green-lit two new unscripted television series, including one series called Cosworld (working title). The documentary series will focus on cosplay stars as they aim to go to comic book conventions and win the cash prize for best cosplay. Also included in the reality TV show lineup is Fandemonium (working title), which focuses on fan girls and fan boys, how they express their passion, and how they balance their fandom and other factors in their lives.

Directing the shows will be Flavor Of Love's Mark Croinin for Cosworld (premiering August 27), and Jersey Shore's SallyAnn Salsano for Fandemonium (premiering this fall). Both shows will be 6 episodes long.

Cosworld will premiere on August 27, and Fandemonium will premiere sometime this fall.

Cosworld (working title) – Premieres Tuesday, August 27 at 10PM (ET/PT)– Cosworld is a tantalizing six-episode docuseries that lifts the veil on the imaginative world of cosplay competition. The series follows some of the hottest cosplay stars as they make a splash at comic book conventions around the country. The show dives deep into their lives, following their process as they create extravagant and visually arresting costumes each week. These individuals will constantly defy odds and race against the clock to transform themselves into amazing fictional characters that push the boundaries between fantasy and reality, all in hopes of impressing the convention judges to win a cash prize and the chance to become a cosplay legend. Production company: 51 Minds, an Endemol Company. Executive producers: Mark Cronin, Courtland Cox and Dave Caplan.

Fandemonium (working title) – Premieres Fall 2013 — From the producer of Jersey Shore comes Fandemonium – a six-part docuseries that celebrates the incredibly unique, often misunderstood, and infinitely fascinating fan girl and fan boy culture. Living together in an LA apartment complex, a tight-knit group of pop culture-obsessed fans continue to find their place in the world and flourish, thanks to their passions and personalities. Whether it’s being first in line for the latest blockbuster, making a lasting impression upon getting the chance to meet their heroes, or just figuring out how to balance their passions with making a living – when these friends get together, it’s flat out Fandemonium. Production company: 495 Productions. Executive producer: SallyAnn Salsano.

Glen Mazzara, the ousted showrunner of The Walking Dead, is in negotiations to pen the screenplay to what is being called The Overlook Hotel, the prequel to Stephen King’s horror classic The Shining.

For Mazzara, the project marks his first gig since he exited as showrunner on AMC's The Walking Dead. The prolific producer whose small-screen credits also include Crash and The Shield, recently signed a TV development deal with Fox Television Studios to develop cable projects for the studio under his new banner, 44 Strong Productions.

Under his oversight, The Walking Dead became TV's No. 1 scripted series in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic.

Life & Style: Gaga won't be able to perform until September

EXCLUSIVE: Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball Tour On Hold Until 'At Least September'

After canceling the remainder of her Born This Way Ball tour to recover from hip surgery in February, a source close to Lady Gaga tells Life & Style that the star “won’t be back in action until September.”

Said to be recuperating in Chicago under the care of her boyfriend, Taylor Kinney, the source says, “She's relaxing and rehabbing. She actually just started walking again, which is great.”

For the self-proclaimed workaholic, friends say having to put her career on hold until this fall has crushed the pop star. “She has a bunch of projects she wants to roll on, but she needs clearance from her doctors,” a pal tells Life & Style. “It’s really frustrating her.”

It may be worth the wait, however, for her millions of “Little Monsters.” The source tells Life & Style that Gaga has been able to focus on her songwriting while recovering. “It's very therapeutic."

On Feb. 12, Gaga announced that her tour was canceled after suffering from a labral tear of her right hip.

"This is just a bump in the road," she said to her fans in a blog post. "I'm grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not."

Boardwalk Empire adds Patricia Arquette, because this damn cast isn't big enough yet

Patricia Arquette has reason to raise a (contraband) glass: She’s nabbed a major recurring role in Boardwalk Empire‘s upcoming Season 4. The "Medium" star will play Sally Wheet, the tough owner of a Tampa speakeasy who’s connected to local gangsters. Arquette’s role is a meaty one opposite series star Steve Buscemi, according to our sister site Deadline, which first reported the story. Earlier this year, the HBO series added Ron Livingston (Sex and the City Band of Brothers ♥), Domenick Lombardozzi (Boardwalk Kings), Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker) and Jeffrey Wright (Source Code) for the upcoming season.

I have no strong feelings about her personally, but I am HARDCORE here for a badass lady speakeasy owner! Most of the fandom's already written several of those fics, shoot.

Richard Armitage Interview: ‘I’m Always The Slightly Dour One Who Doesn’t Get A Punchline’

The actor on playing Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit.

Last December, Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson took us back to Middle Earth with the first of three films adaptated from J.R.R. Tolkien's precursor novel The Hobbit.

With The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey now available on DVD and Blu-ray, we've been catching up with the stars following our interview last December with the merry band of dwarves who accompany Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) on the quest to slay Smaug the dragon. Read our interview with Gollum himself Andy Serkis here. We recently chatted to their fearless leader in the form of British actor Richard Armitage, who plays warrior dwarf Thorin Oakenshield.

Armitage, known for his television roles in Robin Hood, Spooks and Strike Back, tells us about Thorin's penchant for singing, Jackson's innovation, and whether his dour character will cheer up for the next two films The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again (short answer - not likely).

How did you feel about Lord of the Rings?

I was a huge fan of the movies, but prior to that, a massive fan of the books. These were books I probably read between the ages of thirteen and fifteen a number of times, so yeah, a huge fan! (Embrace the geek!)

Did you have any hesitation in accepting the part, with the big undertaking of going to New Zealand?

No hesitation at all. This had been a project a long time in pre-production, and everyone knew about it. Of course I loved the Lord of the Rings movies, so the chance to go and work on The Hobbit with Peter, I didn't even think twice about it.

How was working with Peter Jackson?

Incredible. He's a very collaborative director, visionary and pushing the boundaries of technology, which is something I wanted to be a part of. He's not afraid to experiment with a new form of filmmaking. That experiment will continue through movies two and three, as what happened with the Lord of the Rings films; the movies leapt forward so much, and that's because of how Peter works with Richard Taylor at Weta. Very exciting.

There was Dwarf boot camp, but there was singing in the movie, so was that something else you learned at boot camp?

I suppose an extended version of the boot camp was when all the dwarves went into the studio and started singing. But because I had to work on that little bit of singing on my own, we did work on a sound for him. I didn't want him to sound like he was any kind of trained singer, he was just somebody who had a voice. The dwarves were notoriously good singers though... it was very nerve-wracking! You know, there's nothing like a male voice choir; the bass sound in a male voice choir is very rousing, I think.

I would describe Thorin as something of a sourpuss in this film. Was there any envy of the other dwarves getting funny lines and getting to do silly things?

That's the story of my life! I'm always the slightly dour one who doesn't get a punchline. That's the story and that's the character. He has a burden to carry, and it's very difficult for him to be relaxed and jovial. But we did look for those moments.

Will they be coming up in the next two films?

Relaxed and jovial? Quite the opposite! If anything, he becomes more tightly wound as the situation becomes more oppressive for him, and more dangerous. Less gags for Thorin, I think! We'll try and find something.

How was gearing yourself up in the morning for the make-up, wigs and costume?

It is something you get used to. Going back this year for ten weeks, I was thinking about it last night, and one of the awful things is having to get all that stuff on again. For the first few weeks it's very uncomfortable and it feels alien to you. But after a while, it's part of staying in character and it focuses you. If you're thinking about this stuff on you it pulls you out of character. So the closer you stay to character, the less you care about the stuff you're wearing.

Did you have to learn a new way of sword-fighting after working on Robin Hood?

I worked with Mana Davis, my stunt double, on a training regime to facilitate some of the moves the Orcrist would make, because it's a big heavy sword and it flows in a certain way. I'm still doing those exercises in the gym now in preparation for this year. It's very much about the back and the shoulders and making it look like it's heavy, but elegant. (And he's nailing it)

An encore screening of the world-wide phenomenon - then meet 'Thorin Oakenshield' in the flesh!

The Hobbit + Richard Armitage Live On Stage! May 1 at Hayden Orpheum, Cremorne, NSW.

railway, what does it take for you to get there so you can report on the come back of The Beard?! (among other things)

Openly Gay Actors Ian Mckellen And Derek Jacobi Play Openly Catty Lovers In “Vicious”

Get ready for a master class in shade when Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi star in the new British sitcom, Vicious, by Will & Grace writer and producer Gary Janetti.

McKellen and Jacobi — both openly gay and coincidentally, knights in the queen’s army — play an acerbic couple who have been together for 48 years, marking the first time either actor has appeared in a sitcom.

The show premieres on the U.K.’s largest commercial network, ITV, later this month and though it hasn’t been sold to America as yet, Janetti knows that stateside audiences love a world-class septuagenarian British thespian throwing shade at everyone.

“Downton Abbey is the biggest hit PBS has ever had,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.  “We all know what a British accent sounds like – we all watched Absolutely Fabulous– I think American audiences will go for this show and will watch it in its British form.”
