PBS''Mercy Street' Continues to Keep Broadway Stars Employed

Season two of PBS' Civil War hospital drama Mercy Street premiered Sunday night, and three new cast members were very familiar to Broadway fans: Tony winner Patina Miller (Best Actress in a Musical, Pippin), Tony winner Brian F. O'Byrne (Best Featured Actor in a Play, Frozen), and Tony nominee Bryce Pinkham (Best Actor in a Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder) have all joined the show as series regulars. They play a Pinkerton detective, an abolitionist, and the new hospital chief, respectively.

They join a number of well-known Broadway stars already starring on Mercy Street, including two-time Best Actor and Actress in a Musical Tony winners Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Catch Me If You Can,) and Donna Murphy (Passion and The King and I).

The ensemble show also stars faces familiar to TV fans: AnnaSophia Robb (Carrie, The Carrie Diaries), Jack Falahee (Connor, How to Get Away With Murder), Gary Cole (Midnight Caller, West Wing, Suits), Tara Summers (Katie, Boston Legal), McKinley Belcher III (Dwayne, Show Me a Hero), Wade Williams (Bellick, Prison Break), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Laurel, BrainDead) and Josh Radnor (Ted, How I Met Your Mother) are all regulars.

However I want to clarify some very important things. I am not a violent person, I do not promote violence and it's important people hear and understand my speech in it's entirety rather than one phrase taken wildly out of context. My speech began with " I want to start a revolution of love."♥️ I then go on to take this opportunity to encourage women and all marginalized people to not fall into despair but rather to come together and use it as a starting point for unity and to create positive change in the world. I spoke in metaphor and I shared two ways of looking at things — one was to be hopeful, and one was to feel anger and outrage, which I have personally felt. However, I know that acting out of anger doesn’t solve anything. And the only way to change things for the better is to do it with love. Updated account of what happened on the set of 'A Dog's Purpose'

- Hercules was in training for months to perform the swimming scenes
- He was specifically chosen because of his love of water/swimming
- He'd been taught to jump in from the left side of the pool, grab a toy attached to the stunt actor in the pool, and pull her to safety
- On the day of the TMZ footage, they attempted to shoot the same scene but have Hercules jump in from a different starting point
- As soon as it became apparent he wasn't comfortable doing it, they stopped immediately (right after the footage cut off) and brought him back to the side of the pool he'd been taught to enter from, and he did the stunt no problem

- During the filming, an American Humane Representative was present at all times, approving and documenting every shot
- Whenever Hercules was in the water there were two trainers poolside, one trainer in the water, a safety diver, as well as stunt personnel.
- The day before the scene was filmed, Hercules and his trainers did a comprehensive rehearsal at the pool location with safety and stunt teams to make certain that safety measures were in place to insure that the dog was not put in any danger

From Gavin Polone (the film's producer):
- TMZ’s edited version is intentially misleading to give the impression that the dog was thrown in and eventually drowned, since the two parts seem to be connected
- They weren't, they were from completely different shots/days
- Whoever shot the video held onto it for a year and a half before selling it to TMZ so they'd get more $$
- PETA has been circulating a clip from the trailer where a dog jumps into a scary river
- That scene is computer-generated, and no real dog was used during the filming of it
- The only time Hercules was near water was in this controlled environment with trainers, safety divers, and a heated pool


apparently the filmmakers are trying to get all of the footage released to the public to prove this. thoughts??

“This will be the largest audience to witness an Emmys, period,” said Colbert in a statement. “Both in person and around the globe.”

Kimmy shared on Snapchat a pic of the book she's reading, Embraced by the Light by Betty J. Eadie, a memoir of how the author supposedly died and came back to life.
