Remember these jams:
Big Pimpin,
Steelo,
Pony,
Are You That Somebody?,
My Love,
Rollout (My Business),
Oops (Oh My) and
The Rain. Well the producer behind those hit songs is Timbaland.
This Virginia native Timothy Zachery Mosley got his start in production when he met friend rapper Melvin 'Magoo' Barcliff (who he'll have long time collaboration with) in high school. Mosley also joined another production team called S.B.I. ('Surrounded By Idiots') which also featured Pharrell (from the Neptunes). In 1986, Mosley (at age 14) was shot by a co-worker at Red Lobster and partially paralyzed nine months. During this time, Mosley 'began to learn how to DJ using his left hand'.
Rapper and singer Missy Elliot heard his material and began working with him. Around the same time Missy was in group called Sista that were later signed to DeVante Swing's (from the group Jodeci) with his Swing Mob label. Missy later brought Mosley and Magoo along with her to New York where Swing Mob was based and where Mosley helped produce songs for Jodeci and Sista. DeVante is also behind the name of Mosely where he renamed him Timbaland, 'after the Timberland brand of construction boots'.
This list will be songs
to me that are either underrated or songs most have slept on. This list will be third and last in a series where I'll highlight very known producers and their underrated/less popular songs. The lists for the Neptunes and Kanye West are
here and
here.

Get on the Bus was modest hit in the US with just reaching #63 on the Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts. But was more successful throughout Europe, 'reaching the top 20 of the Dutch Mega Single Top 100 and UK Singles Chart'.
