THOSE BOYS NEVER TIRE OF BREAKING RECORDS...

Loads of artists have released amazing Comic Relief singles over the years...the Spice Girls, The Wanted, Boyzone's 'When The Going Gets Tough' complete with punchbag dance move...but none can match One Direction's efforts.

Yu-huh, the lads' Red Nose Day track One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks) is set to become the charity's biggest ever single - and it's only been out 2 bloomin' days.
In the past 2 days, the song's topped the iTunes chart in a whopping 63 (yup, SIXTY THREE) countries worldwide, including the UK, US, Singapore and even Egypt. Oh. my. God. This is Spice Girls/Beatles pandemonium happening before our very eyes, this is.

And Kevin Cahill, chief executive of Comic Relief, is also a fully-fledged Directioner. He said "We couldn't have asked for a better band to record the official Red Nose Day single in our 25th year.

"It's an absolute coup and the first time ever we have a massive global selling single for Comic Relief. Their genuine commitment to the work we fund is touching and I know that their contribution will raise a huge amount to make a real difference." Aww, somebody's got a man crush.

What with the mahoosive success of the single and the lads' visit to Ghana for the cause recently, we've given up hope of trying to find the perfect boyf. Literally no one can compare to the 1D fellas.

What do you think? Have you bought One Way Or Another yet? If not you'd better hop to it...the boys are performing it at the BRITs tomorrow and you wouldn't wanna look like a lemon not knowing the words, would ya? Now here's Louis and Co. in some big pants, celebrating their amazingness.

Real Housewives of Vancouver’s Mary Zilba Speaks Up

$

Two episodes into Season 2 of the Real Housewives of Vancouver and it looks like Mary Zilba and Ronnie Negus are in a getting along phase of their bumpy 20-year friendship.
Well, looks are deceiving.

According to Zilba, there is no relationship between the two. The breakdown is the result of Negus’s blossoming friendship with fellow RHOV cast member Jody Claman. The very same cast member that at the end of last season Negus swore she would never speak to again.

Well, it seems never, ever isn’t final as Negus embraced the tiny tiara-wearing Claman when she came to Negus’s side after Negus’s daughter Remington apparently nearly died after choking on a piece of steak last February.

Zilba says wait a minute — there is more to that story.

“The thing that hurt me the most was the deliberate omission of when I was there for Ronnie,” said Zilba, who added that she went to the hospital when Remington was rushed there and she stayed with Negus for 24 hours. “My story is a little bit different, I was there. She (Ronnie) talks about Jody being there. She came three days later after they changed hospitals bringing coffee and doughnuts. That’s what hurts me is the deliberate omission of me even being there. I have been there for her many times.”

Not one to speak out or take to Twitter to talk about the other RHOV cast members Zilba is talking now because she is sick and tired of being called a “victim” because she won’t as she says “get down into a mud puddle and wrestle” with the other RHOV women or their fans.

“I think some of teasers have given away quite a bit,” said Zilba, over the phone recently. “You can kind of see who is aligned with whom. You can see Jody and Ronnie are a team. Amanda (Hansen) is clearly a Jody protégé. And Robin (Reichman) and I have built a relationship. You can see the dynamics play out. It is very much like last season in that it is about trying to bring Mary down, but I do want to make it clear Dana I am not a victim. It’s quite the contrary.
“I live by the mantra that you should treat people the way you want to be treated. That’s how I grew up. That’s what I believe.

“I just try and abstain from behaviour I don’t condone. I don’t go around verbally attacking people. That’s just not something I take pleasure in. I am not vindictive or malicious,” added Zilba.

But she is still a person and admits there have been times when she has wanted to respond to the badgering she has received from cast mates and from RHOV fans on social media.

“I just feel there is so much more strength in silence,” said Zilba. “Anybody can lash out. Of course at times I feel like I want to go off on them, but at the end of the day I would regret it. I am a role model for my kids and take it very seriously being in the public eye. I think I have an obligation to act a certain way. Some of these women have very bad behaviour.”

Speaking of bad behavior, Zilba pointed to the launch party for the series that was held a couple of weeks back at downtown Vancouver hotel.

Cast members and friends and family gathered to watch the first episode. Zilba went with her ex-husband and one of her teenage sons.

“When I came on the screen they started booing me,” said Zilba, who left the event early. “Dana, grown women, sitting on the couch booing me. They were yelling she’s a loser and booing me.”

But despite incidents like that and comments posted online Zilba says she will be standing firm in her desire to not roll with the pigs if you will. She also hopes her fans will follow her non-engaging lead.

“Use your voice for something that is constructive in the world,” said Zilba. “It’s interesting how they try to egg me on almost to get me down in the sewer and I am just not going to do it and I don’t want my fans to either. Even if someone lashes out at me I don’t want my fans to lash out at them. I don’t do it and I don’t want them to do it. If I see something like that I won’t re-tweet it and I have told people who have done it in defense of me not to do it. I just believe two wrongs don’t make a right.”

sigh they're are all such messes on twitter, RHOV party post. Episode 3 airs tonight!

Greek Eurovision Final slayed, haters will deal

$

Last night was the Greek Eurovision Final, in which the audience had to choose between four competing songs the one to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo this May. The final was also a special event because producers invited to the show previous Eurovision winners Dima Bilan, Ruslana, Alexander Rybak and Marija Serifovic, as well as Greek past winners Helena Paparizou and Vicky Leandros (who was competing for Luxembourg when she won in 1972). Naturally, there was a lot of broken English, a lot of lolz, but also plenty of awesomeness.

__13613047380

But first! The song chosen to represent Greece at this year's Eurovision is "Alcohol is Free" by Koza Mostra and Agathonas Iakovidis! It is a mixture of Greek old-style music called "rebetiko" and ska... so, um, yeah. We'll see how it goes.

The show's opening, with host Despina Vandi doing ~choreography~ with all the special guests:

Then they had each winner sing a remixed version of their Eurovision song, with other popular Greek acts. Before every performance there were some really sweet videos where the Greek guest artists remembered watching the specific song win the contest and what they thought of the winner.

Dima Bilan - Believe, featuring Demy (best performance of the night tbh)

Alexander Rybak - Fairytale, featuring Kostas Martakis (glad to see Alexander's moves haven't changed since 2009)

Marija Serifovic - Molitva (Destiny), featuring Melisses

Ruslana - Wild Dances, featuring Eleni Foureira (crazy hair dancing @ around 2:30)

Helena Paparizou - My Number One, featuring Vegas

Vicky Leandros - Apres Toi, featuring Helena Paparizou (this song was obviously recorded in 1972 lmao)

Other highlights included:
- the past winners trying to speak "Greece"
- Dima Bilan's Greek fan club going berserk with their screaming
- Ruslana being drunk out of her mind and shouting SEX SEX SEX during the sit-down interview
- Alexander Rybak telling us that he loves us even though we're broke, because we're sexy
- Marija telling us that if we want to take perfect pictures, instead of saying "cheese!", we should say "sex!".

Apparently everyone was really horny. For anyone who wants to watch it, the entire show has been uploaded on Youtube.

Girls' night out: Michelle Dockery looks playful as she leaves London club hand-in-hand with sister

She's likely to have a hectic schedule as an actress with a successful career. But Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, 31, took some time out from work on Monday night. She looked ~relaxed as she left LouLou's Club in London's Mayfair hand-in-hand with her sister Jo in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

She wore a beige raincoat which she wrapped around herself while wearing a white shirt underneath.
The star had on a pair of brown trousers which exactly matched the colour of her friend's sister's (get it together DM) coat.

Michelle completed her get up by wearing a pair of brown high-heeled shoes which she teamed with a brown handbag. The actress appeared in good spirits as she walked with her sister and smiled as they made their way home. Earlier in the day Michelle had attended the Burberry Prorsum London Fashion Week Show with fellow stars such as Rita Ora and Cara Delevingne.

And it seems Michelle may be the envy of some in the fashion industry with costume designer Jacqueline Durran recently admitting was great to dress for the latest film adaptation of novel Anna Kerenina. Jacqueline said:'Michelle Dockery was great to work with, she's so elegant and that's ideal for the part she was playing and for the style of the dress she was wearing.'

'If you're aiming for a fashion/beauty look then Michelle has got the perfect figure. She was involved in the high society part of the film wearing fashion to match and she was perfect for it.'

Rob Kardashian Admits He Was Willing To Ruin Rita Ora’s Reputation Because He Was Mad

Screen-Shot-2013-02-19-at-12.02.27-PM
There is nothing like a bitter man! Let it burn!!!
Last year, Rob Kardashian had the internet going crazy after he posted a series of tweets accusing singer Rita Ora of cheating on him with over 20 dudes in the industry.  The tweets, which he deleted immediately, went viral faster than a blink of an eye and #RitaWhora became a top trending topic while all types of rumors began to circulate surrounding her personal life.

Apparently, Rob was livid because he had dated Rita for over a year and was never allowed to admit that they were an item because she was a newcomer in the entertainment industry who wanted to present herself as a single woman.  According to his sister Khloe, the relationship made Rob depressed and he even gained 40 pounds while dating Rita.

Rob also admits: I posted what I posted to keep myself from taking her back. Every time she messed up, I took her back for over a year now. I just had to do that to make her hate me.

Even though he could have possibly ruined her reputation, Rob’s only concern out of the whole thing was that people would look at him as being weak: I don’t want people to think I’m being a b-tch.

Well, there aren’t many other words that would describe someone who would stoop THAT low.  Of course, Rob being a bitter Betty after his break up with Rita will be all played out on an upcoming episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami.

Tami Lane has sights on second Oscar with work on ‘Hobbit’

$
0
0

Tami Lane is hoping she’ll have a 13-pound Oscar award to tote around the night of Feb. 24.

Lane, 38, and a graduate of Woodruff High School and Bradley University, is up for an Academy Award for her prosthetics makeup work on “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” And since she has already won an Oscar — in 2006, for the blockbuster film “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” — she knows all the pros and cons of winning.

The pros? Besides the obvious, you get to go to all the A-list after-parties. The cons? Carrying around that heavy little guy all evening. Last time, she was so inseparable from her Oscar that her jewelry rubbed off part of the solid-gold coating.

“The Academy says you can give it back and they’ll re-dip it, which is nice. But I like the scar,” said Lane, by telephone from Los Angeles.

Lane says the process is a little less nerve-wracking the second time around.

“The first time, it was gut-wrenching,” she said. “And you feel like it’s a fluke and you could never get there again. This time, it’s more easygoing — especially since I’m going up against my best friend.”

Lane’s team will compete against the staff of “Les Miserables” and “Hitchcock,” the latter which includes special effect makeup by her friend and mentor Howard Berger, whom she worked with on the “Narnia” films. Lane said she’ll be happy for her friend if he wins.

“If he wins or if I win, we figure we have a two-thirds chance of going to the Vanity Fair party,” she said.

Lane says working on “The Hobbit” trilogy has been the most challenging project of her career. Since the 3-D films are being filmed in 48 frames per second instead of the normal 24, their work had to be flawless, she said. Her average work day started at 4 a.m. and often lasted until 10 p.m. While on location in New Zealand, they worked out of a caravan of trailers and often took helicopters to reach certain filming locations.

Lane has always been a fan of movies. But her obsession with her work has made it difficult to get swept into that fantasy world like she used to. Now, she finds herself studying the details and critiquing everything from how lighting affects paint colors to the quality and bushiness of fake eyebrows. That’s how it was the first time she watched “The Hobbit.” But the second time, she let herself relax.

“When I saw it a second time, I was proud and overjoyed,” she said. “I had no idea why I had been so critical the first time. I enjoyed every minute, and I can’t wait to see Part 2.”

But first, she has an event to attend. Her plans for the Academy Awards? “Hopefully winning. It’s going to be fun, it’s different this time around.”

Elysium’s ready as director Blomkamp looks ahead to next project

$

0

Elysium, the long-awaited follow-up to Vancouver director Neill Blomkamp’s District 9, is all but done now, awaiting a theatrical release in August.

“It’s kind of weird that it sits on a shelf and doesn’t come out until August 9th but I think a summer release is fantastic for the film,” says Blomkamp in an e-mail.

The new movie stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster in a sci-fi story about a future where humanity’s elite have fled the ruined Earth for orbiting space stations while the planet’s poor struggle to survive.

The 33-year-old Blomkamp moved to Vancouver as a teen with his family from South Africa, and quickly earned a reputation as a digital effects prodigy in Vancouver’s busy effects scene.

His debut feature, 2009’s District 9, catapulted him to the front ranks of feature directors, a box-office and critical hit that also earned Oscar nominations for best picture, best screenplay (for Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell, his wife and writing partner), best editing for Vancouver’s Julian Clarke and best visual effects for a team based out of Vancouver’s Image Engine.

The movie about an alien ghetto was filmed in Johannesburg, but extensive post-production was handled in Vancouver.

All eyes were on Blomkamp in the summer of 2011 when filming started here on Elysium. Many of the same collaborators were back– though Blomkamp wrote this screenplay on his own.

Filming continued under tight secrecy until that September, when the show moved to Mexico City.

Then came more than a year of post-production work in Vancouver, just finishing now.

“Elysium is basically done at the end of February,” Blomkamp says. “I have some straggling VFX shots that go into April but it’s almost done. The stuff looks absolutely amazing.”

The director has already begun prep work on a third sci-fi feature that will take him back to Johannesburg for principal photography. He reteamed with his screenwriter wife Tatchell to co-write that film, a sci-fi comedy called Chappie. But as with the previous two movies, post-production and visual effects will happen in Vancouver.

And the Vancouver team that rose to prominence with District 9 and Elysium have become in-demand players in their own right. Editor Clarke has since worked on The Whistleblower and The Thing, while Vancouver-based cinematographer Trent Opaloch will be behind the camera for the mega-budget superhero sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier, due in theatres in 2014.

As for Blomkamp’s co-writer and spouse Tatchell, she’s carving out a career as a writer and producer in her own right. She optioned a trilogy of paranormal teen novels by U.S. writer Amanda Hocking, and has written the screenplay adaptation for the first of those books.

SOURCE
I don't care if this post only get 2 comments, the team from District 9 is fabulous (I also love the fact that a woman co-wrote the screenplay especially on a movie that tackles on heavy subjects and gore), Also looking forward to him making a movie in the comedy genre.

Greg Weisman Comments On Young Justice's Cancellation

Impulse Being Awesome

Although the fate of Cartoon Network’s Young Justice is pretty clear, producer Greg Weisman doesn’t appear to be closing the door to the possibility of more episodes, even after the show’s second, and presumably last, season comes to a close this spring.

Talking to The World’s Finest fan site about the final issue of his Young Justice comic series, which arrives Wednesday, Weisman said, “I’m not writing an epitaph here. But the nature of the business is that you never know if you’re going to be picked up for more episodes or issues. So whether it’s Captain Atom, Gargoyles, W.I.T.C.H., The Spectacular Spider-Man or Young Justice, I always try to end each season or run at a good place to stop, with what I like to call open-ended closure...”

In other words, the show will end with a cliffhanger and we'll never get full closure.

Five surprising actors who've never won an Academy Award

$
0
0

There are a lot of brilliant and talented actors who have won an Oscar, or have won many Oscars. But you might be surprised by the talent in Hollywood that has yet to win one. Here are just a few.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leo has been nominated three times for acting awards at the Oscars: for Best Supporting Actor for 1994’s What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, for Best Actor for 2005’s The Aviator (he even won the same award at the Golden Globes that year), and for 2007’s Blood Diamond. But (and this comes as a shock to many people), DiCaprio has never won his own Oscar.

It was called a snub when he wasn’t nominated for 1997’s Titanic but his co-stars Kate Winslet and Gloria Stuart were (neither of them won either).

DiCaprio continues to do larger-than-life movies, and hopefully his day will come soon.

Sigourney Weaver

Weaver has also been nominated for three Academy Awards. In fact, in 1989 she was nominated for an Oscar both in the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories, for Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl, respectively. She was also nominated in 1987 for Alien. But the A-list actress has never taken home the prestigious award, and hasn’t been nominated for almost 25 years.

Johnny Depp

Depp is a surprising Oscar-less actor, largely because of the roles he plays. Depp is very picky and doesn’t choose many movies that aren't up to his standards. Like the previous two actors, he's also been nominated for three Oscars. For Depp, though, his nominations all came in the last decade.

In 2004 he was nominated for the first in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, for Best Actor. The next year he was nominated for the same award in Finding Neverland, where he played the author of Peter Pan and in 2008 he was nominated for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Julianne Moore

Moore has been nominated for four Oscars, but each time has gone home empty-handed. It's been 10 years since her last nomination, and in fact that year she was nominated for both acting Oscars in a lead and supporting role, for Far from Heaven and The Hours, respectively.

In 2000, she was nominated for Best Actress for The End of the Affair and in 1998 she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in Boogie Nights.

Tom Cruise

Cruise is another actor who has been nominated for three of the prestigious acting awards but again has gone home without. His first nomination came almost 25 years ago, for 1989’s Born on the Fourth of July. He wasn’t nominated again until 1997, for Jerry Maguire. His last nomination came 13 years ago, when he received the nomination for his supporting role in Magnolia.

These five actors show that star power and Oscar don’t always go hand-in-hand. The actors are all still working, and could easily still win their awards at some time in the future.

Justin Bieber murder plot phone calls released

$

A convicted murderer's terrifying phone call to a hit man -- in which he describes a plot to murder and castrate Justin Bieber and his bodyguard -- has been released.

The phone call -- obtained by KOAT 7 News in Albuquerque, NM -- was placed from a Las Cruces prison last November by Dana Martin, who's currently serving two life sentences for raping and killing a 15-year-old girl.

Martin -- reportedly obsessed with Justin Bieber -- is the first voice on the tape. The person he's calling is Tanner Ruane, the man who's accused of conspiring to carry out the Bieber castration since Martin was behind bars.

Ruane is the nephew of a former Las Cruces inmate named Mark Staake, whom Martin had also allegedly recruited to help carry out the murder following Staake's release last fall.

In the clips released by KOAT, Martin tells Ruane ... "[Mark's] going to kill the pit bulls and you're going to castrate them."

According to police, "pit bulls" was the code word for Bieber and his bodyguard.

In the call, Ruane mentions the "hedge clippers" he was planning to use to carry out the deed.

Martin also describes how to perform the murders using his signature paisley tie -- "Tie it really really tight. Knot it in the front once, really tight, put it in a knot. That cuts off the oxygen, and then tie it in the back again, really tight. That seals the deal."

As we reported, the murders were supposed to go down in New York City soon after this telephone call took place ... while Bieber was in town performing at MSG. Ruane and Staake were subsequently intercepted by police before anything happened.

For one of cinema’s most reclusive talents, Daniel Day-Lewis has certainly been making the rounds. Now, ahead of the Oscars, the stylish men’s quarterly Port Magazine tells T that the actor is guest-editing its film issue, which hits newsstands on March 14. “Having Daniel share his friendships with me has been a humbling experience which sometimes left me speechless. On occasion, such as a lunch interview with Ray Winstone, which turned into a two day party, I was left legless,” says Port’s editor, Dan Crowe. “The fact that he was able to do this during the awards season and all the work he had on with ‘Lincoln’ is incredible.” Port and Day-Lewis even convinced Winstone, the lovable Cockney rogue, to introduce the issue in the following video clip.
