She says the post was interpreted wrongly, and it was not about her coming out but about people not needing to label themselves: “That was really misconstrued, that whole thing. A lot of people took it as me coming out, but that’s not what I was trying to do. I was literally doing it just to say that you don’t have to label your sexuality; so many kids these days are not labeling their sexuality and I think that’s so cool.”
She also says that “You don’t have to label yourself, because it’s not set in stone. It’s so fluid and there’s so much pressure on kids to label themselves and say, 'This is what I am, this is what I like.' I was just trying to say that it’s unnecessary; you don’t need to label yourself. I guess it came off the wrong way, because then everyone labeled me as gay. That’s not what I was trying to say. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course! But I did that literally just to say you don’t have to label yourself, and then everyone was like, 'Lily-Rose Depp comes out as gay!' I’m saying it doesn’t matter! It’s not anybody’s business, because I am going to date whoever I’m going to date. I was just saying, kids don’t need to label their sexualities. It’s not that big of a deal."

Now, if I thought about the way my school looked, imagine being a Filipino person who’s like “I’m not a real American because I’m not on TV.” We’re a nation of immigrants. That’s what being an American is."

One of Dave Chappelle's most infamous skits on Chappelle’s Show involved a racial draft—and it's something a lot of people wish really existed. Over the last two weeks, because of her comments about Black History Month, Stacey Dash's name has been hilariously thrown in as someone black people should trade in the fictitious racial draft.
But trade for whom?
Who's more "woke" than Dash?
Some people seem to think comedian Gary Owen is more woke than Dash. And they're probably right. Owen, who happens to be married to a black woman, has routinely used his comedy as a vehicle to speak about issues black people face. And as a father to black sons, Owen knows firsthand what his sons have to deal with.
With the dubious honor of being traded in the draft for Dash, Owen posted a hilarious Instagram photo, thanking everyone:

Solange drags music critic Jon Caramanica after he tells her not to "bite the hand that feeds" her
Solange took to Twitter last night to discuss the music industry and its history of exploiting black artists. She recalled a comment New York Times music critic Jon Caramanica made about her, when she called out white indie music writers for their lack of knowledge of R&B back in 2013.
In response to Solange's comment about music writers not understanding the history and culture of R&B, Caramanica responded, saying that Solange shouldn't be biting the hand that was feeding her. Solange called out Jon Caramanica last night, tweeting "Don't you EVER tell a Black woman, not to "Bite the hand that feeds you" while speaking in reference to white people."
Jon Caramanica has come under fire in the past for making no mention of the Prettiots' industry connections during a SXSW profile last year, as well as trashing Mariah Carey's Las Vegas show, which was rumored to be in retaliation for parting ways with her longtime publicist.
