'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' whooping the tar out of James Cameron, attention turns to
'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'.
Whilst a few deets have trickled out this week, more are beginning to arrive online, and speculation is (naturally) rampant.
Want to know when the first trailer will be out? Wondering about the possible identity of Mads Mikkelsen and Felicity Jones? Aching for a description of a possibly key set location? Spending every waking moment thinking about how Rogue One might connect to The Force Awakens?

When Is the First Trailer Showing Up?Well, some people are predicting that we’ll see first teaser footage
during the next Super Bowl due to the massive captive audience.
However, it is also very likely that the first full trailer for Rogue One could be seen attached to
Captain America: Civil War (as reported by
Star Wars Times, opening May 6th. Let us not forget, that the second TFA trailer premiered prior to ONTD’s Floppingest Movie 2015 nominee
‘Avengers: Age of Floptron’ just this last year.

The (Possible) Identity of Cast Members Felicity ‘Theory of Everything’ Jones and Mads ‘Hannibal Lecter’ MikkelsenCaution! Caution! Danger, Will Robinson! Although
Making Star Wars has managed to break a lot of accurate news regarding The Force Awakens in the last two years, making it a semi-reliable source that you shouldn’t immediately discount, they have allegedly obtained some juicy new deets about Rogue One.
NOT official, but from an often reliable source, so get your table/kosher/sea salt out, ONTDers, just in case.
They report that
Mads Mikkelsen, best known to fans as That Hot But Problematic Cannibal Psychiatrist From Lithuania With The Really Good Taste In Suits,
will be playing the IMPERIAL scientist responsible for getting that final (Geonosian) Death Star up and running, but he gets struck down by a wave of guilt and reconsiders his allegiance to the Empire.
Mads, who’s name in the film will supposedly be
’Galen’, will be beloved by the Empire and stanned for by Imperials for his scientific prowess at getting the Death Star good to go with mass destruction = he will basically be the
Robert Oppenheimer character of the film.
Attempting to make things right after his conscience suddenly starts existing,
he enlists the help of Felicity Jones, also an ~"egghead"~ according to the source, who must team up with a bunch of rebels and bounty hunters to destroy what…. DUN DUN DUN HER FATHER MADS MIKKELSEN BUILT!!!This very legit news could all be fake af, or it could all be true, or it could have been true but has now changed, nobody knows.

Description of a Set.You may remember that last year
Making Star Wars made a whole load of articles about what the set photos and concept art for TFA all looked like, due to not being able to post actual photos for legal reasons. WELL. The same site has also posted a new lengthy description of what could be a key location and some characters from Rogue One.
Location: unknown planet, urban area, architecture vaguely similar to Tatooine. A black and white X-Wing has crashed, cue lots of destruction, and original trilogy variety Stormtroopers swarming into the area for unknown reasons.
-Two male characters on scene, walking in front of the X-Wing wreckage, we don’t know if they are part of the crash or not.-
Man 1 has a long rifle that weirdly resembles Doc Brown’s rifle from BTTF3, also a black leather trench coat and a dull red mask with a visor that stylistically looks like a cross between ROTJ Imperial Guards and Kylo Ren.

Man 2 is wearing a brown trench coat, and is toting a massive rifle with a stock, that looks a bit like the rebel guns used on Hoth in ESB.
-The source believes these two trench coat wearing dudes to probably be Bounty Hunters, and if not then the coolest looking extras of all time.
A theory is that as the rumour goes that Felicity Jones’ team involves some bounty hunters,

THEORY: How Rogue One Might Connect To The Force Awakens?In the
Force Awakens easter eggs roundup, it was mentioned that Rey’s salvaged Rebel X-Wing pilot flight helmet (according to the Visual Dictionary) once belonged to Captain Dosmit Raeh of the Trierfon Yellow Aces.
According to some random person mentioned at the Source, this may be a Rey link to Rogue One, and give us more backstory about her ready for Episode 8.
Also confirmed:
1) Dosmit Raeh is female.
2) Luke spent some quality flight time in the Rogue Squadron, and there was an important Battle of Jakku let us not forget, which some believe makes it a good meeting place for X-Wing pilots to get naked and romantic.
(OP thinks this is a bit of a plot stretch, but ok.)3)
Mads Mikkelsen may actually be playing an early version of Lor San Tekka, who we saw chatting with OP’s Boyfriend Poe Dameron at the start of TFA (he may possibly go by a different name in Rogue One). The source puts two and two together and makes 7 by logically thinking that they must be the same person as Mads is from Denmark, and Max Von Sydow is from Sweden, and since they are geographically close together they are the same person in a Galaxy Far Far Away.
4) Source believes that
if Felicity Jones has her usual British accent in the trailers, then it will clearly mean she is Rey’s mother, because accents are how you know people are close blood relations in space. Also, they look kind of alike.
5) Source believes it is logical that Rogue One is being made and released between Episodes 7 and 8 instead of fan favourite anthology films like the
Han Solo Film Nobody Asked For as it MUST have some tie-in to the plot, particularly to Rey, and help explain backstory ready for Episode 8 to roll around half a year later.
6) Rogue One could also
give some more insight into why Lor San Tekka and the map are hiding on Jakku at the beginning of TFA, as Tekka could have gone to Jakku looking for the map that may or may not have been in Dosmit Raeh’s possession when she crashed.
As you can see, ONTDers, this is all extremely convoluted, and mostly makes no kind of sense.
To break it all down:Mads could be Young Lor San Tekka, or he could be an Imperial Oppenheimer, he he could be both.
Felicity could be Lor San Tekka’s daughter, or she could be Dosmit Raeh, or she could be the mother of Rey, or she could be any combination of the above, or who even knows.
IT IS UP TO YOU TO DECIDE.
The Truth is out there, Scully.Rogue One director Gareth Edwards also confirmed that the film will feature ZERO JEDI, I repeat, ZERO JEDI. But that does not necessarily rule out the possibility of Force Sensitives, or backstory on people who hook up with Jedi or give birth to future Jedi, it’s all in the semantics, people.
