-The part was offered to him twice by different directors (Danny Boyle and David Fincher).
-Bale turned it down as he felt that 'he wasn't right for the part'.
-Michael Fassbender got the part but he agreed that Christian Bale was "perfect" for the part:

A new, fan-sourced book about Taylor Swift is coming out!

And instead of hiring professionals or offering fair compensation, her fanbase gets to out-desperate themselves to do it for almost nothing!
- fans get to compete to write the book for a $10,000 prize, plus the job of promoting the book (no further compensation mentioned)
- fans get to compete to title the book for a $2,500 prize
- fans get to compete to design the cover for a $5,000 prize

Taylor is "not involved" so I'm sure she'll be seeing the publisher in court for this unauthorized use of her name and image while ripping off her fans cause it was totally never run by her team or anything.
