Turkish judge orders investigation into whether comparing President Erdogan with Gollum is offensive

A physician in Turkey faces jail time after posting a meme comparing the president of Turkey to Gollum. He was also reportedly expelled from the Public Health Institution for the same action.

The judge ruling over the case has called for an investigation into Gollum to determine whether or not the comparison was an insult. Two academics, two behavioral scientists and an expert on cinema and television productions will examine the character.

Meanwhile, lawyers of the case presented a research report that was carried out through internet, where poll results evaluate if Gollum is a good, bad, ugly or suffering character with different options in the form. The man's lawyer said the case has turned into “a case of saving the pride of Gollum”.

Starts at around 1:15.
Harry: I believe it's a bear that was thrown onstage at one of our, uh, shows and the crew kept it and they have it taped to, um, to the scaffolding. I believe that's what the bear is.
Liam: Secrets uncovered.

Niall looks shady. Louis remains silent.

Interviewer: Is there any random thing you're going to miss about being on tour?
Liam: The Rainbow Bear.
Harry: Almonds.

Blind Item: Who’s having unsafe sex?

$

The Detroit Free Press published a fascinating report yesterday. I’m quoting:

An anonymously filed lawsuit involving a much-talked-about disease has surfaced in federal court in Detroit, where an unnamed woman is suing an unnamed celebrity from California for allegedly giving her genital herpes while having sex with her multiple times in Royal Oak last summer.

Why the secrecy?

"This complaint is brought anonymously due to the social stigma attached to the damages as well as the celebrity of the defendant," according to the lawsuit, which seeks at least $75,000 in damages.
The lawsuit does not say whether the celebrity is an actor, musician, athlete or politician — only that he is a citizen of California, and that he had a residence of some sort in Royal Oak in July.

The plaintiff, who is a Michigan resident but currently is in New York, claims the unnamed celebrity has permanently scarred her physically, emotionally and psychologically by failing to warn her that he was infected with genital herpes, and "by failing to altogether avoid sexual contact" with her. Her lawsuit also alleges that the defendant "knew or should have known" that he was infected with Herpes Simplex Virus 2.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff had repeated sexual encounters with the defendant in July, primarily at his residence in Royal Oak, and "did not and has not had any sexual relations with anyone other than" him since then.

In addition to sports events, there were a few productions happening this past summer in Detroit. There was a MAJOR production doing reshoots in Detroit. You should know it without me naming it. An epic battle? Sound familiar? Most locals are immediately picking up on that one and not really considering the non-film and tv options.

And two obvious names from that project come to mind. And one more obvious than the other. Because he had a summer full of scandal. So it makes sense why some would think he'd have yet another scandal added to his 2015 scandal list.

Thing is though, the herpes rumours? The OTHER name is the one who's been rumoured to have herpes. He has a new young girlfriend. And when they first hooked up, he apparently disclosed it to her. (It’s a blind within a blind!) Then again, he's not a resident of California.

Or you know what?

It's very, very possible though that it's neither of them. That they have nothing to do with it. That it's not an actor celebrity but an athlete celebrity?

Plus An Honorable (Film) Mention

As 2015 comes to an end and the music industry begins to tally the year's best-selling albums, it is clear that Justin Bieber's "Purpose" will end up high on that list. Scooter Braun and his team worked hard in repairing Justin Bieber's tarnished image and mobilizing his fans to help Justin achieve the biggest debut of the year, before he was quickly dethroned by Adele the following week. Just like Justin, Ariana Grande, another Scooter Braun-managed act, also had a successful year with two Top 15 singles on the Hot 100, and her next album is one of 2016's most anticipated music releases.

Although Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande were two of the most-talked about and well-received artists Scooter Braun manages, Scooter wasn't able to duplicate that level of success with a lot of other artists he's currently managing. You might recall seeing these artists inexplicably snag prime promotional slots at award shows and late night shows, without ever once hearing their songs on the radio. This list looks at the Scooter Braun-managed acts that made you ask a very important question this year: "Who is this person and why are they here?"

Cody Simpson

Did you know that Cody Simpson released an album this year? Do you even care? Probably not, as his independently-released album "Free" peaked at #128 on the Billboard 200. Cody Simpson made bigger headlines for briefly dating model Gigi Hadid and featuring her in his music videos "Surfboard" and "Flower" than he did for the music he released this year. He performed on ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's Today show, but neither of those two morning TV show slots could help him sell records.

Rixton

Next up on our list are English pop rockers Rixton. Rixton released their debut album "Let The Road" earlier this year following the success of their 2014 #1 single "Me And My Broken Heart" in the UK, which peaked at #14 in the US. They performed "Me And My Broken Heart" on The Ellen Show and the Teen Choice Awards in 2014. Sadly, the general public forgot about them, as they released their album a year after their single debuted at #1: their album peaked at #19 in the UK and #32 in the US.

Sheppard

Australian indie pop band Sheppard released their debut studio album "Bombs Away" in Australia last year following the success of their #1 single "Geronimo." They then toured North America as Meghan Trainor's opening act, and even got a chance to perform "Geronimo" on Disney Channel's "Girls Meets World." While the album peaked at #2 on the ARIA Albums Chart, it only made it to #31 in the US. "Geronimo" failed to match the success it achieved Down Under, peaking at #53 stateside.

Who Is Fancy

Although the reveal of his identity was supposed to be a huge event, many people didn't care and they find themselves still asking that very same question: Who Is Fancy? Who Is Fancy is singer-songwriter Jake Hagood. Jake's label set up a big PR campaign centered around his reveal, which happened back in April on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he performed his debut single "Goodbye." The reveal didn't help much, as his single peaked at #98 after people found out who he was. Last month, Who Is Fancy released his second single "Boys Like You" featuring Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor, and they performed the song on Dancing With The Stars. Not even a performance with two of the biggest names in pop could help Who Is Fancy: the single has yet to make an appearance on the Hot 100.

Carly Rae Jepsen

Canadian pop sensation and singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen released her critically acclaimed album "E•MO•TION" this year, but she wasn't able to match the success of her #6-peaking album "Kiss.""E•MO•TION" debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200, and the only single which managed to chart on the Hot 100 was "I Really Like You." Carly Rae Jepsen released "I Really Like You" back in March with a heavily-publicized music video featuring appearances from Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber. Despite performing the song on Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Saturday Night Live, Dancing With The Stars, and the Ellen Show, it only achieved a peak of #39, becoming her third top 40 hit after "Call Me Maybe" and "Good Time" with Owl City charted at #1 and #8 respectively. Carly performed her next single "Run Away With You" on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Today Show to coincide with the August release of her album in the US, but the song failed to chart on the Hot 100.

Tori Kelly

Last on our list is singer and songwriter Tori Kelly. Tori Kelly released "Nobody Love" as the lead single from her debut album "Unbreakable Smile" in February, but the song only managed to peak at #60 on the Hot 100. Tori Kelly's next single, "Should've Been Us," fared a little better, peaking at #51. Preceded by two flop singles, Tori's album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, and she even performed at the Billboard Music Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards. What's even more baffling is that Tori Kelly performed at the MTV Europe Music Awards with Andrea Bocelli despite having no charting songs in Europe. Her album peaked at #110 on the Belgian Albums chart, #75 on the Dutch Albums chart, #94 on the Irish Albums chart, #52 on the Scottish Albums chart, and #32 in the UK. Tori Kelly just released the single "Hollow," which will be the lead single from the upcoming re-release of her album.

Jem And The Holograms

Did you get a chance to see the Scooter Braun co-produced film "Jem And The Holograms?" Probably not, since Universal pulled it out of theaters two weeks after it premiered, a move unheard of for a film in wide release. The film is reported to have had the worst wide release opening of 2015 with $1.4 million, and the fourth worst opening ever. The $5 million-film only made $2.8 million during its very limited run.

Chris Brown was scheduled to be last night's guest for The Daily Show, but Nick Cannon was announced as Tuesday's guest on Instagram just hours before the show aired.

There are reports that many members of TDS staff were concerned and disappointed in Brown's booking, ultimately leading the show to rescind his invitation.

Trevor Noah wanted to use the interview to bring light to domestic abuse issues. I'm sure he would have a lot of nuanced insights to share.

ONTD Original: Sagittarius Faves!

This post is a collaboration post between dangerbuffalo and yurasama_love.

are the ninth sign of the zodiac, usually falling from November 22nd to December 21st. They are described as restless, cheerful, and friendly with a love of freedom and a desire for activity.

Sagittarius Faves
While the people listed here are listed by number, THERE IS NO REAL NUMERICAL ORDER FROM BEST TO WORST OR WORST TO LEAST. These are just some people who are Sags who I think are pretty neat and whom pretty much everyone knows.
1. Bruce Lee, Nov. 27

The legend, the master! Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco in 1940, was a child actor in Hong Kong and acted in several martial arts films, such as Fists of Fury. He died at the age of 32 before the release of Enter the Dragon. On screen, Bruce Lee beat up Chuck Norris and Jackie Chan.
2. Britney Spears, Dec. 2

Capturing people’s hearts since the Mickey Mouse Club, Britney Spears is both loved and hated. Rocketing to fame with 1998’s …Baby One More Time, Britney climbed the charts until her well documented break in 2007. She started her comeback in 2008 and presently continues to work with her musical act in Las Vegas, but she is still under conservatorship.
3. Bill Nye, Nov. 27

No child of 90s America grew up without once hearing or shouting “BILL BILL BILL BILL” along with the “Bill Nye the Science Guy” theme song. He taught us science as children and continues to work to educate people on science, fighting against bigotry and ignorance. He’s written several children’s books on science, developed a hydraulic pressure resonance suppressor (used in Boeing 747s!), developed sundials used in the Mars Exploration Rover missions, and much more.
4. Don Cheadle, Nov 29

Look at him. He’s great. He plays James “Rhodey” Rhodes a.k.a War Machine and does it far better than Terrence “Baby Wipes” Howard could ever dream. He is a critically acclaimed actor and Academy Award Nominee and I need him to not be dead in Civil War, OK? Bias? What bias? I have no biases!
5. Jon Stewart, Nov. 28

Host of the The Daily Show for sixteen years, we let Jon Stewart into our homes and our hearts. Stewart went to battle with Fox hosts repeatedly and his political commentary influenced a generation. He is also an actor, best remembered by me in The Faculty and that one episode of The Nanny where he’s the Jewish doctor that Fran dates before they find out they’re cousins.
6. Jamie Lee Curtis, Nov. 22

That picture of her scolding a person and then angrily drinking from a glass is iconic! Daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, Jamie has carved out her own niche as a Scream Queen and has acted in several acclaimed films. She’s also married to actual British baron Christopher Guest.
7. Charles Schulz, Nov. 26

I had to include him because ‘tis the season for Charlie Brown specials. Born in 1922, Charles M. Schulz grew up during the Great Depression, fought in WWII, and achieved his dream of becoming a cartoonist. His best known work, Peanuts, was first published on Oct. 2, 1950 and has been in newspapers ever since.
8. Lucy Liu, Dec. 2

She first captured my heart and the hearts of many with that first hair flip in Charlie’s Angels back in 2000. Known best for her roles in Ally McBeal, Charlie’s Angels, and Kill Bill, she’s currently playing the role of Dr. Joan Watson, a race and gender bent version of Dr. John Watson in the Sherlock Holmes adaptation Elementary. She’s also an accomplished artist and welcomed a son this year.
9. Judi Dench, Dec. 9

Famed actress Judi Dench is probably best known to most of us here through her portrayal of M in the James Bond films. She has a long history on stage and in film and is halfway to an EGOT, having earned both an Oscar and a Tony award. She became a Dame Commander of the British Empire in 1988.
10. Janelle Monae, Dec. 1

Janelle Monae is the Sagittarians showstopper superstar that we NEED. She can sing, she can dance, and she backs it up with a social conscious message that both busts gender norms and racism. Janelle is a SUPERSTAR! And Sagittarians are lucky to have her under their sign!
BONUS. Nostradamus, Dec. 14/21?
OK, when I went to the Biography website and saw Nostradamus, how could I not include him here? While there is some debate on his actual birthday, let’s just call him a Sag and leave it at that. He was an astrologer and physician and is of Jewish descent, although his grandfather converted to Catholicism to avoid persecution. He treated patients suffering from the plague until he started moving towards the occult after his marriage in 1547. He would meditate and have visions and published his first book of prophecies in 1555, intending to write 10 volumes. Some people believe him, some people think he’s full of shit.

Honorable mentions: Gael Garcia Bernal, Sammy Davis, Jr., Louisa May Alcott, Michael Clarke Duncan, Janelle, Monae, L.M. Montgomery, Jane Austen, Mark Twain, Christina Applegate, XTINA, Jay Z, Jimi Hendrix, Julianne Moore, Ralph Fiennes, Jeff Bridges, Dick Van Dyke, Ada Lovelace, Dr. Clelia Duel Mosher, and so many more, there are some real great Sags out there.

Thanks everyone for your patience! And especially to yurasama_love, who really helped me out of a funk in getting this thing done. HBD to all our ONTD sags!
