Okay so I know there are TOOOOONS of movies with animals but here are some of my favorite animal movies I think you should watch.

I decided NOT to add movies where people (aka humans) turn into animals (like Bear Brothers or Princess and the Frog) and I tried not to add the super classic one (like Bambi or Finding Nemo).
I also decided not to add any documentaries! So if you want a list with those thing…well then you just gonna have to make one :)

Please share your favorite animal movies!

    1. The AristoCats

    Year: 1970
    IMDB Ratings: 7,1/10
    Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Disney's 20th full-length animated masterpiece, THE ARISTOCATS is an unforgettable mix of wild adventure, colorful characters, and jazzy music your family will find absolutely irresistible! This enchanting tale begins in Paris, when a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to her family -- a family of adorable high-society cats. But when Edgar, the greedy butler, overhears her plan, he catnaps Duchess, the elegant, soft-spoken mother, and her three mischievous kittens and abandons them in the French countryside. Soon, they're being escorted home by the charming Thomas O'Malley, a rough-and-tumble alley cat, who takes them to his "pad" along the way, where Scat Cat and his band of swingin' jazz cats perform the memorable "Ev'rybody Wants To Be A Cat." Enriched by "high-style Disney animation" (The New Yorker) and toe-tapping music by Academy Award(R)-winning songwriters the Sherman brothers (MARY POPPINS), THE ARISTOCATS is a timeless treasure and the last animated feature to get the nod from Walt Disney himself

Note: What's up with Disney and racist Siamese cats??

    2.All Dogs Go to Heaven

    Year: 1989
    IMDB Ratings: 6,7/10
    Genre: Animation, Comedy, Drama

Set in 1939 New Orleans, this colorful, song-filled story centers on Charles B. Barkin, a roguish German Shepherd with the charm of a con man and the heart of a marshmallow. Out for revenge against his double-crossing former partner, a cigar-chomping pit bull known as Carface, Charlie finds himself guardian to a lonely little orphan named Anne-Marie. Her astounding ability to talk to animals leads this unlikely pair on an adventure packed with thrills, laughs, tears and true love.

    3. Antz

    Year: 1998
    IMDB Ratings: 6,6/10
    Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy

In an anthill with millions of inhabitants, Z 4195 is a worker ant. Feeling insignificant in a conformity system, he accidentally meets beautiful Princess Bala, who has a similar problem on the other end of the social scale. In order to meet her again, Z switches sides with his soldier friend Weaver - only to become a hero in the course of events. By this he unwillingly crosses the sinister plans of ambitious General Mandible (Bala's fiancé, by the way), who wants to divide the ant society into a superior, strong race (soldiers) and an inferior, to-be-eliminated race (the workers). But Z and Bala, both unaware of the dangerous situation, try to leave the oppressive system by heading for Insectopia, a place where food paves the streets.

    4. Robin Hood (Disney)

    Year: 1973
    IMDB Ratings: 7,6/10
    Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Swashbuckling adventure and unforgettable characters make the story of ROBIN HOOD an all-time favorite! The animal kingdom serves up a feast of bowmanship, swordplay, and daring deeds in Disney's classic version of this timeless medieval tale. England is at war and ruled by a phony king! Greedy Prince John and his slithering sidekick, Sir Hiss, are taxing Nottingham's residents to the limit. But roguish Robin Hood, along with his trusted companion Little John and his devoted band of merry men, hatch one exciting adventure after another to outfox the prince. Robin won't rest until he wins the hand of fair Maid Marian and King Richard is restored to the throne! Superb storytelling, wonderful animation, and sensational songs make ROBIN HOOD a magical movie for kids of all ages!

    5. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

    Year: 2002
    IMDB Ratings: 7,0/10
    Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Join Spirit, a wild young mustang, on an action-packed quest against impossible odds. In his courageous and thrilling journey across the American frontier, Spirit forms a remarkable friendship with a Lakota brave, outwits a relentless group of soldiers, and falls for a beautiful mare named Rain. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is a spectacular tale about discovering the true hero inside of you

    6. Fantastic Mr. Fox

    Year: 2009
    IMDB Ratings: 7,8/10
    Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of the few animated features that is hilariously great entertainment for kids, and absolutely engaging entertainment for adults. From the animation to the story to the direction (by Wes Anderson) to the acting of the voice-over stars, Fantastic Mr. Fox ranks with the likes of Toy Story or the Wallace & Gromit films as robustly entertaining for movie lovers of all ages. George Clooney lends his voice and talents to the character of Mr. Fox, who's recently retired from his long, successful career of stealing poultry to become a journalist. His wife (Meryl Streep) is pregnant, and his son, Ash (the Anderson staple Jason Schwartzman), and nephew, the golden-boy Kristofferson (Eric Anderson), have a low-level rivalry that feels all too human. The story, based on the Roald Dahl tale, is slim, involving the return, just one more time, of Mr. Fox to his old profession--and the repercussions that may befall his pals from the mean farmers as a result. But the true charms of Fantastic Mr. Fox are in the smart dialogue, in the immersive animation that keeps the characters' faces just as expressive as humans', and in the very believable family and friend dynamics we can all relate to. When Clooney's Fox and Bill Murray's Badger get into "cussin'" matches, you can't help but crack up. Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of the all-time best films for the whole family.

To celebrate the release of her new single, "I Am Invincible," which debuted at #87 on the iTunes Top 100 and peaked at #27 on the iTunes Country Charts, Cassadee Pope sat down with a woman that clearly wants to wear her skin (and puts fka to shame in terms of effusive stan praise). Still, the results were beautiful and should be an inspiration to all stans on this site.

Some highlights and examples of the magic:

-"When you sit down with Cassadee Pope, there is an immediate feeling of positivity that comes over you. Just being in her presence makes you feel like the world is a beautiful place and like you can conquer anything. Why? Because Cassadee makes you feel that special. Cassadee makes you feel invincible."
-"Even with the world in the palm of her hands and the possibilities seeming endless for the next “it” girl of country music (and the music industry as a whole), Cassadee, like the rest of us, occasionally needs to remind herself of her blessings."
-"As Cassadee keeps her sights set on doing for others and using her musical influence for a greater good, she will also continue sharing the release of her motivational and inevitable anthem with the world. Following tonight’s television premiere of “I Am Invincible,” Cassadee has quite the busy schedule as she continues to quickly and prosperously promote the song that has taken music by storm...Fans can expect for the [music] video to be shot in the next couple of weeks and to see something with a “tribal feel” to it."
-"With the future looking incredibly bright for Cassadee and realizing that this song could be quite the game changer for this artist who has paid her dues, worked tirelessly to pave her way in the music industry, and has always done so with an optimistic outlook and a smile on her face, she is welcoming the possibility of a huge response to her latest project."
-If you want to contribute to the lyric video for this song, Cassadee herself gives pointers on how to take part: "Fans can . . . submit their pictures or videos of their favorite lyrics from I Am Invincible. Basically, they’ll need to write it on a white paper or poster with a Sharpie and get someone to take a picture or video of them holding it."

IDGAF, I couldn't stop myself from posting this. It's that ridiculously OTT. Can't wait for this video with a "tribal feel" to it because that's a hot mess in the making.

    Stand out lines:

"6 God watching, hope you prepared to face him"
"All of you charity cases, hoping you can be my replacement/snitching on me with no interrogation/I stay silent cause we at war and I'm very patient."
"I'm done doing favors for people/ it's not like I need the money i make off of features/I see you struggling to go gold"
"Rumor has it that I either fucked her or never could/but rumor has it that it hasn't done you niggas any good"

  • 07/25/15--18:34: Happy 60th birthday Iman!

  • + Iman shared her thoughts on Wellness, Diversity, and Turning 60 with NYMag/The Cut
    A couple of quotes:
How I start my day:I like to get up around 5:30 or six — that’s my favorite time of day. My family is still asleep and the office is still closed, so I can start my day slowly. I first have a glass of warm water with lemon. And then I lie down and keep my mind clear for about 20 to 30 minutes. I get up and have a cup of coffee and slowly ease into it. My husband [David Bowie] loves oatmeal, but I usually do egg whites with tomatoes, scallions, and spinach. Then I walk my 14-year-old daughter to school, even if she walks far from me.
On turning 60:Yikes! Besides my foot and my accessory-challenged world, I feel pretty good. I feel really healthy, loved, blessed, and I’ve never been more comfortable being inside myself. I’ve been forced to sit still. I tell my younger friends, “Don’t be afraid of change. That is when you really see what your destiny is.” We are always trying to hustle and flow, trying to make things happen. I used to be like that, too. I asked my husband once when he knew he wanted to be a musician. He said at the age of 7. When you have that, the universe will conspire for things to happen since you don’t see anything else. But for average people who don’t have that kind of passion, things happen for ourselves when we let them.

When you are forced to sit still, you really see, as with everything that happened to me. I stumbled into modeling, I had never even heard about it or seen fashion magazines. And makeup — opening my own cosmetics company was the same way. And with my husband, I’d been to his concerts and invited backstage, but never went. But when the time was right, the path was clear, we met. That “aha” moment just revealed myself. That also comes about with wellness. Sit quiet and let it be and reveal itself.

I don’t read the comments, really, but someone once commented, “Oh my God, she looks so good for 70.” And I said, “Bitch, don’t rush me! I’m 60, not 70.” Bitch, don’t rush me — maybe I should get that on my cake.

So tonight Gina Prince-Bythewood, director of Love & Basketball and Beyond the Lights was doing a q&a for Beyond the Lights using the hashtag DamnNoni. She dropped lots of interesting trivia and facts as she was live-watching. Someone asked if she asked Rita Ora to perform the song Grateful (which was later Oscar nominated) or if Rita Ora asked her to sing it. Here was her answer:

Gugu had to be lubed into her black and white latex press conference dress:

    source 12

Whoops, Rita Ora keeps making enemies everywhere she goes. Beyond the Lights was cute as hell and queen Gugu was flawless in it.

Traveling Europe with her friends. Why yes, that is Rachel Skarsten, aka Queen Elizabeth in the upcoming season of Reign.

Stirring shit Choosing sides in the Reign fandom shipping wars?? by posing with a statue of Louis of Condé (not really, she's mentioned before that she's firmly #teamfrary). Speaking of...

Basically confirms her relationship with Sean Teale by posting pics of them together and including cutesy lovey dovey captions.

Speaking of Sean Teale, he probably won't be returning to reprise his role as Louis of Condé since according to a banned source he's been cast as the lead for the Incorporated pilot, a new Syfy show from Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's production company.

It also seems that season 3 will be shorter than the previous seasons despite being renewed for 22 episodes earlier in the year. According to spoilertv.com, ACTRA Toronto has the Reign production schedule listed as being from June to December 2015. For comparison, season 2 was listed as being from July 2014 to April 2015.

And finally, rumoured new characters include a girl called Constance who will seduce Charles (Francis's younger brother who hasn't appeared since he left in season 1) and Martin, a pirate looking for a bride who will, surprise of all surprises, come between Mary and her dying husband Francis.

Philadelphia singer and songwriter Hemming released her self-titled debut album on Friday (July 24th). The 10 track album was produced by Linda Perry and released on Perry's record label, Custard Records.

Hemming, aka, Candice Martello, appeared on the VH1 reality show, 'The Linda Perry Project', last year. Since appearing on the show she has been working with Perry on her debut album and has toured with Rachael Yamagata, The Dove and The Wolf, Train and Holly Miranda. In September she will open for Soundgarden's Chris Cornell during his Acoustic Higher Truth tour.

Last night Hemming celebrated the release of her record at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles where she performed songs from her album.

Rock NYC's review of Hemming's performance at her record release party is very positive with the reviewer, Alyson Camus, describing Hemming's album as containing "well-crafted rock songs, going from pop anthems to delicate folk ballads" and likening aspects of Hemming's voice and songs to the likes of Lucinda Williams, The Pixies, Cat Power, Sharon Van Etten and Bright Eyes.
